Senseless? Then what did Jesus mean here?
"And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead." Matt 8:21-22
Why Does Christ Want Some Not To Be Saved ?

The Only hope he has is if God makes him alive, but thats out of his control. Do dead people have the ability to resurrect themselves from the dead ?
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:25-26
Ok ! But notice the living goes before the believing, that makes my point lol
Jesus was speaking of men who considered themselves alive, but who were in the eyes of God, dead! Were not Adam and Eve and all of their offspring dead in the eyes of God before they took hold of the Life which Jesus brought?
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Gen 2:17
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." Gen 3:6
So they were dead and each of is dead, or has been dead, until and if we have partaken of the Life which Jesus brought:
"Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life;..." John 6:53-54
That God was Living... that Jesus was Living, yes. That mortal men were not Living Until and If they believed!

This will offend many folks . What i am about to say will offend .
But imagine it like this . We were all simply idols . DEAD . we had eyes but saw not , we had ears but heard not .
We were dead . OH BUT PRAISE GOD FOR THE TRUE LIFE . FOUND ONLY , AND I DO MEAN ONLY , IN JESUS CHRIST .
ALL other religions are false . All other ways lead only to the second death . I AM THAT FULLY PERSAUDED
THAT IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE is ETNERNAL LIFE . PEROID . YE must believe in HIM , confess HIM by mouth , AS THE ONLY LORD and SAVOIR .
NOTHING ELSE saves , all else is wind and vanity and leads only to the second death . BELIEVE ME , in this all inclusive generation
THAT OFFENDS MANY . BUT , TRUTH IS TRUTH . JESUS ONLY SAVES .

And how does that occur . BY BELIVING IN THE GOSPLE OF JESUS CHRIST .
For i tell us all , if any believes not , they are dead and though they seem to live their end is but the second death .
HE who denies jesus though he seems to live is dead and his end the second death . OH YES .

Well teh king was at hand but the kingdom wasn't. Not according to what the Word of God says the kingdom will be.

Now go look that up ! And see what it means in light of all the OT prophecies and the word for kingdom used:
- royal power, kingship, dominion, rule
- not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom
- of the royal power of Jesus as the triumphant Messiah
- of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah's kingdom
