Once again, those who believe they live a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life 100% of the time (exactly as Jesus lived) are suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness. (1 John 1:8-10)

No, they suffer from a case of obedience to the word.

Psalm 119:11 KJV
[11] Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119:101 KJV
[101] I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.

Proverbs 28:13 KJV
[13] He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Isaiah 1:16 KJV
... put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil

Ezekiel 3:21 KJV
[21] Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

John 8:11 KJV
[11] Jesus said... go, and sin no more.

Romans 6:2 KJV
[2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:12 KJV
[12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Galatians 5:24 KJV
[24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Believers are children of God. John 1:12 - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. The blood of Christ washes away our sins.

Poor God and Poor Us....he went to all of the trouble of Chastising His Children which must have amounted to a big waste of time and a Complete , Cruel Injustice, seeing how none of His Children sin.....
Once again.....all you Sinless People out there? Allow me 5 minutes with your Spouse....let me ask them a few questions—- I got a question right now—- what the Hell is “ WRONG” with you people? You throw basic , common sense out the window because you misunderstand the Bible and have NO IDEA how silly you look.A five year old knows better.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

What does it mean to be cleansed from all unrighteousness? Does that include the desire to sin? Why instead of acknowledging "cleanse" do some believe the blood of Jesus only FORGIVES all unrighteousness, but we will still sin all of our lives, and Jesus cleanses our present and future sins as well as our past sins, but does nothing for the desire to sin. If we believe that Jesus' blood cleanses and forgives our past, present and future sins instead of making us truly born again with a new nature, and free from the desire to sin in the first place presently and in the future, isn't that is a slap in the face of how powerful we believe the blood of Jesus truly is?

Jesus came to make us truly righteous and holy as the Father is perfect. He came to make us like Himself - the first of many brethren. Romans 8:29 "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."

The problem is that although we are forgiven of sin from our past, we still sin in our flesh because we are in the body of this flesh and this flesh is constantly battling with the Spirit of God within us. The bible tells us that once we become believers, we are not our own. We have been bought with a price. 1 corinthians 6:19-20. This does not exempt us from being tempted or even falling from grace because of the desire of our flesh to be gratified. If we weren't tempted 1 corinthians 10:13 would not make any sense. The bible tells us however, that we have a advocate between us and God who will help us if we do sin. 1 John 2:1-2

John 8:34-36 says otherwise. And you keep repeating 1 John 1:8 - someone before confessing their sins in the next verse.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us. 9 But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.

Not if we do not quench the Spirit.

Romans 8:9 For we are NOT in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God indwells us. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he doesn't belong to Christ.

I only know a handful of believers and mighty men of God, walked in the Spirit all of the time. Jesus is one. Elijah perhaps, was another. John the Baptiser...To be able to walk in the Spirit that way means to be completely sold out for God meaning: all of God and none of self. Not even Peter managed to do that. John 18:10, Luke 22:55-57 or a number of other biblical characters.

When you have the Spirit, you have Him until you quench Him. That is why Paul commands us to not quench the Spirit. It is what makes us born again. Are you sometimes unborn again? Are you back and forth between a carnal nature and divine nature? I can only speak for myself, but I'm not. I am always listening for the voice of God and walking in His direction.

After I was born again and filled with the Spirit on Feb. 9, 1977 (Wed. night prayer meeting), the following Sunday when we formed a small prayer circle, I knew to just wait instead of me choosing who in the circle I wanted to pray for and what. At the end, there was one woman left to pray for, and I "heard" God tell me what words to pray. I used His words exactly. The next week she sought me out and told me my prayer had been answered miraculously. It had been about the return of her lost daughter.

100% of my prayers have been answered ever since, because I am His servant, He is not my servant. So I wait, and when He tells me to pray and for what, I do, and it is answered immediately.

That first week of prayer circle answered prayer happened every week. So you can say "na" because you, unfortunately, cannot relate. But I love talking with my friends about our answered prayers and the latest miracle God has performed. You are just not in my circle of friends.

So what if we have temptation placed in front of us? Didn't you read the last part of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20? God always makes a way of escape. So just resist the devil and he will flee. Simple!

@charimaticLady. I am not saying that walking in the Spirit is impossible. What I am saying that it costs to walk in the Spirit all the time and the cost is everything you have got.
When you are born-again you become saved. A believer, and the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you. That does not mean that you can do what ever you want without consequence. If you sin as a born-again believer, we have an advocate between us and the Father, Jesus Christ , our Lord and savior. 1 John 2:1-2.

Of course we resist the devil and he will flee from us but that is not the point. If we no longer sin because we are born-again believers, we would not need an advocate....1 John 2:1-2

I understand that, and God is on my mind all day and all night. Just this past week I had the best dream that some would call a nightmare. There was this huge black demon with horns in an abandoned house and instead of running away from him in fear, I ran toward him and commanded him to be gone by the authority of Jesus Christ, and he look surprised and disappeared. Then there was a see through woman ghost and I grabbed her by the arm and threw her out of the house in the name of Jesus. I was like a warrior on the hunt, and cleansed the whole house. When I woke up, I still had this feeling of extreme joy, because greater is He in me (all the time) than he that is in the world. I've known I have this authority and I live in it without fear.

BTW, Jesus is NOT our Advocate for willful sins of lawlessness. I haven't had desires to commit any of them since 1977. Maybe my testimony is more extreme than other people, because I've only met a few people like me that can relate to my born again experience, because theirs was similar. One even more extreme.

The total amount of Humans that “ walked in the Spirit, All Of the time “ would be ZERO. Jesus was not a Human.....He was GOD Himself, temporarily donning “ a Tent of Human Flesh”. You already mentioned Peter, so that leaves us with John. John , at one time, actually lost his Faith in Jesus....he had to send his followers to Jesus and ask Him if He was “ The One”..... things were not unfolding in the manner that John thought they would , thereby causing him to “ second guess” Jesus and His Earthly Ministry.....

And yet Jesus said the following:

John 14:12 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

And Peter’s and John’s follies occurred before the resurrection. So you cannot use them as an example of erring saved people.

There are two types of sin. 1 John 5:16-17. Willful sins of lawlessness 1 John 3:4 which are sins unto death. And then there are trespasses that are minor unintentional offenses against each other. Leviticus 5:15; that as long as we forgive others, our own are cleansed. Matthew 6:14-15 because of our Advocate. 1 John 1:7 shows the continual cleansing of the blood of Jesus for someone continuously walking in the Spirit.

Here's some examples: You are going down the freeway and some cuts you off and the driver behind you nearly hits the back of your car. Do you think to yourself, "Praise God! thank you Jesus for averting an accident"or do you think you to yourself, that car nearly took me out, where did he get his licence from, a Cheerio box!. You go to the grocery store and someone cuts in line ahead of you, do you say. "I am so glad I was able to help this person because they are obviously in a hurry. Perhaps they have had a bad day today/". Or do you think, what a rude person!

Then you get home and an animal has gotten into your trash bin and there is trash all down your drive and on the foot path. Do you think. "Praise God this animal must have been hungry and I hope it get some food somewhere or maybe I should put some food out next time" or do you think to yourself, "I cannot believe that the neighbours don't take better care of their dog". At the end of the day you may be praising God for his mercies or you may be angry. The bible tells us that James 1:20. The anger of man do not achieve the righteousness of God.

This is how easy it is to be clashing between flesh and Spirit and it costs to walk in the Spirit all the time...:)
