Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed,
and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed
is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Interesting grass doesn't have a "kind" ..

Sounds like the stages of life. Infancy, Childhood, Adulthood.
Infancy: Bring forth grass
Childhood: the herb yelding seed after his kind
Adulthood: the tree yielding fruit after his kind
I wonder if God watched the grass grow from tender/young into a seed bearing herb, and then into a tree ?
There is a parable about a mustard seed that says the seed became a bush and grew into a tree.
Mat 13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a
grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
Mat 13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but
when it is grown, it is the greatest among
herbs, and
becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
