It has not been born...it does have life.

If you relate this to being born again, one can have life before they are born again. They are born again by faith. They are not born again apart from faith. Faith is the catalyst for making one born again.
Thats my point. The fetus has life, so it can receive nourishment. Life needs that. However a dead person with no life cant receive nourishment. See believing on Christ is compared to eating and drinking Jn 6:54

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Those are spiritual activities that require life. In fact this verse confirms that the ones doing those acts have eternal life already, spiritual life

Being alive in our physical bodies identifies us as fetuses to the kingdom. We are born again as the result of faith in Jesus Christ; not before.

What about people who are going to hell, who will lost? Does what you just stated apply to them?
The real question is what does the Bible say?

I think there are two sides to reconciliation, one being what God did to reconcile us to Himself, the other to be that we receive this reconciliation.

Those who do not receive the reconciliation, I believe anyone can. That God is not counting their sins against them, giving them life, sunshine, rain, breath, and opportunity to come to Him for eternal life.

Jesus said unless a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Being forgiven isn't enough if you are still dead in sin.

Much love!

You entire Doctrine revolves around “ Ezekiel “ it would seem......you can’t get your head out of Old Testament Law—- it explains everything about you.....I suggest that everybody but you take a pause .... Yes, we will take a break while you catch up with most of the rest of us.....those of us that have heard about a thing called “ The Cross” that changed everything— it took us out of the Age Of Law and ushered in the “ Age Of Grace”......That is where I live .....you stay with Zeke while I continue to do as ordered—- “ Follow Paul as he follows Christ”......It’s ALL of Grace now, since the Cross.ALL.

“ Turning From wickedness” is a great thing.....you will Live longer .....That is what God is telling the wicked.
If “ Turning From Wickedness” were the Recipe for Salvation....why did Jesus go to the Cross? He could have left everybody with this—- “Hey everybody! Wanna get Saved? All ya gotta do is “ Turn over a New Leaf!”
Jesus could have returned to Heaven with no scars on his hands and feet and John the Baptist would be red- faced indeed—- he declared that Jesus came to Earth to be “ The Lamb ( Blood Sacrifice ) Of God that would Take Away the Sins Of the World”
Even Isaiah would have been revealed as a man who spoke with no Truth in him ! It was HIS claim that Jesus would be Tortured and Crucified for “ OUR” Transgressions .....
Using “ your” logic.....who needs Jesus to pay a Price we could never pay? Who needs a Savior? Save yourself and let Jesus be! How ? .....Simple.....just quit being “ Wicked”.
“ Cleaning up your Act” will be a blessing to you compared to the one that doesn’t do it......However, “ Salvation is Of the Lord”...... The very name of Jesus translates as “ GOD is our Salvation”..... God could not make it plainer......if you have “ eyes to see”... most don’t .
Paul made it very clear, if righteousness could come through the Law Jesus didn't have to die.

This nonsense talk about finding loopholes, there IS NO loophole. WE don't add righteousness even a little at the end. It's all Jesus, not us.

Paul, even later in his life, wasn't trying to add his own righteousness, and made a searing declaration about the vanity of the flesh in seeking to find something good in ourselves.

Ezekiel was God's prophet under the covenant of Law, and that's how it worked. What does that say when we use this to define the grace we receive in Christ? Comes and goes like the righteousness of the law? That was not a true righteousness. But God had created us righteous and holy.

Much love!

You are scared to answer the question. Whats the promise given to them which were reconciled to God by His Sons death while they were being enemies ? Read Rom 5:10 and answer the question please without flip flopping

But you are deeply missing something if you don't read the Bible for yourself and act as a Berean (Acts of the Apostles 17:10-11) concerning the things you are taking in.

You are “ preaching to the Choir” here.....I have read the Bible many times...Romans and Galatians I have read Dozens Of Times ....I have been a “ Berean” type of Believer since Day#1 ...that Day was almost 40 years ago ....any other False Assumptions on your mind?

As I said, pointing to someone's ad hominem arguments is not the same thing as using one yourself.

Much love!

You don't even admit what you do. Typical. Practice what you preach for a change.

OT saints were indeed "born again" because they had the Spirit of the Lord dwelling in them (1 Peter 1:11).

To be honest I'm not sure about the language you're using? The OT saints may have been, in a sense, "reborn" if they had survived God's wrath and had become God's People, eg at Passover, and at the Red Sea, and also in the Wilderness. They, in a sense, "died" under God's wrath, and yet survived to live another, ie they were "reborn," as Jesus said. And Jesus said this while he was still under the Law in the OT era (Jesus was not, however, technically under the Law himself--he was not a sinner, and the Law was given for sinners).

But to say that the Spirit "dwelt in them" may be a bridge too far. In the NT sense, God's Spirit comes to dwell in us only under the New Covenant, because once we've been redeemed by the atoning death of Christ, we can live forever. As much as the Spirit may have been *with Israel* in the OT era, I don't believe they could say that the Spirit was permanently inhabiting people, because to permanently dwell in them implies that they have eternal life. And that couldn't happen until Christ provided his eternal atonement. Atonement under the Law was only temporary, and given to last until Christ came and provided a "better sacrifice."

I will agree, however, that in some sense the Spirit of God was *in* the saints of the OT era. He just wasn't in them on a *permanent basis,* because they had not yet been eternally redeemed. I can't see how a saint could be a saint, or even if a pagan could do something right, if the Spirit did not operate within them, speaking to their conscience. Even more, the saints walked regularly with God, indicating that in some sense at least God dwelt in them. So I'm just trying to make the biblical distinction, using biblical language, to avoid confusion.

Let's just say that the Spirit of God was "in the OT saints," but not fully "dwelling in them?" That's probably the best I can do right now. "Dwelling" seems to capture the sense of a permanent habitation, as opposed to just a "regularly habitation." OT was "regular," but not "permanent" yet.

It seems you are lumping everything under the guise of works. Is baptism a work?
Confession, repentance and baptism are all human works, but NOT works of the O.T. Law.

They are N.T., Spirit/grace led works.

The only part of the salvation process that is not human works is receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

But, to prep our bodies for the Holy Ghost, we must have human works to get our bodies ready for it.

Kinda like cleaning house for the ultimate guest.

OT saints were indeed "born again" because they had the Spirit of the Lord dwelling in them (1 Peter 1:11).

Only prophets had the Holy Spirit in them,

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

Any input on ‘For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good’?

Isaiah 7:14-16 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. [15] Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. [16] For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Hebrews 5:5-9 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. [6] As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. [7] Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; [8] Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; [9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Great questions.

It looks like verse 15 is your answer - he always knew, unlike other children. Butter is made from milk, so He could have always had these ingredients from when He was born. And it doesn't hurt to have been conceived from the seed of the Father God. Just like us who are baptized with His Spirit. 1 John 3:9; Romans 8:29-30.

And even though I was filled with the Spirit for many years, I learned complete obedience and awesome fear of the Lord from the things I suffered at the hands of an abusive husband. Jesus suffered mental torment, but didn't sin. Not even when He asked questions of the Father about "if there be any other way." But hearing nothing, He relented and obeyed. 1 John 5:14-15

yes...it seems you are going to continue to perceive the grace of God as being a license for sinning...

You just go ahead and cut Ezekiel 33:11-20 out of your Bible....it doesn't belong there anyway because it is in the Old Testament.

btw, the prophets are not the same as the law...

And it is also true that both the law and the prophets attest to the fact that the righteousness of God which is apart from the law is righteousness indeed (Romans 3:21)...so Ezekiel 33:11-20 attests to the righteousness of faith that it is righteousness indeed...I will leave it up to you to discover how that even works since from your perspective the righteousness which is of God by faith is only imputed and positional but never practical and imparted.

When Jesus said that you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free from sin (John 8:31-36), I can testify to the fact that the truth that teaches us to have the fear of the LORD in us is that truth.

The concept that God just keeps on forgiving me has only served to give me an excuse to continue in my sins.

Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21)....not only their penalty, but their practice. That word "practice" has been taken to an extreme by some and used as an excuse to keep on sinning; because if I do it "just this one time, I am not practicing sin; I am only committing it once" Therefore it takes twenty years of "doing it just this one time" before you realize that you have been practicing it all along.

He came to set us free from sin (John 8:31-36). The truth will make you free; and I would venture to tell you that this truth that will do such a thing is the truth that we find in Ezekiel 33:11-20 and Hebrews 10:26-31.

Also, in Matthew 5:20 is the exhortation by Jesus that unless "your" righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

These were an impeccable bunch outwardly...and this scripture indicates that our inward righteousness needs to be just as impeccable if we are going to enter the kingdom...and as Jesus said, if the inside of the cup and platter are clean....the outside will be clean also.

But I have warned you from the Lord and your blood is no longer on my head. This is the context of the passage in question (Ezekiel 33:1-10); that I am called to warn you of the consequences of sinning against the Lord and if you do not heed my voice, you will surely perish but I will have delivered my soul.

But to say that the Spirit "dwelt in them" may be a bridge too far.

See 1 Peter 1:11.

In the NT sense, God's Spirit comes to dwell in us only under the New Covenant,

The New Covenant provides the Holy Ghost because Jesus released His Spirit back to the Father in Luke 23:46.

The Holy Ghost was released into eternity and from there can descend to anywhere in time to come and indwell the hearts of any of those who would believe His testimony to them about Christ.

We are said to have a great reward in heaven if we are like the Old Testament prophets (Matthew 5:10-12). I assume that Jesus is saying to us, there, that the Old Testament prophets were also sealed by the Holy Spirit and have a reward in heaven because they were truly born again. When Nicodemus didn't know what Jesus was talking about concerning being born again, Jesus acted surprised that Nicodemus was a teacher of Israel and didn't know that. It should have been common knowledge in Jesus' day...that was what God intended...but somehow the teachers of Israel missed it.
