We're all familiar with the Parable of the Sower but this morning I saw new things contained in His lesson....

Luke 8:5 -8 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when He had said these things, He cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

8:9 And His disciples asked Him, saying, What might this parable be?

8:10-14 And He said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

His Word isn't planted, cultivated and tended "by the wayside" so if the Word should fall on some it will be easy for Satan to trod on and his workers, the fowls of the air, to snatch away with deception. Then other Words fall, (again, they aren't properly planted), on a rock. Those on that particular rock hear the Words with joy but...because of the rock they are on....will not be able to put down roots to strengthen themselves with truth. They "lack moisture" and that moisture is truth received from His rain.....

Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The rock that keeps them from absorbing truth is the fake christ. He pretends to be Our Rock and offers a little of His Word but not enough to put down roots so that in the time of the great tribulation, great temptation...they will be deceived.....

Deuteronomy 32:31-32 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

Then we see those that hear His word yet allow wordly pleasures to keep them from producing fruit.

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Luke 8:15-17 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

Then we have the group we all strive to be of....those that "hear and keep the word." We take His Word to others...letting His light shine through us. What was so interesting to me was seeing....."They which enter in may see the light." His Light shines in us but it won't be seen by all....only those that "enter in" are given to see Him.

8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

His warning to us is to be careful how ye hear. Do we hear as we are by the wayside, on the fake rock or do we allow ourselves to be choked by weeds/tares/thorns/briers? Another thing I just noticed today was what was taken away from those that "hath not." It isn't that God takes away truth but what the individual "seemeth" or believes he has shall be taken. Those that are deceived believe they have truth but...they are taken, taken in deception!

Ezekiel 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

Ezekiel 36:3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

Matthew 24:39-42 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
