Agreed, very difficult to say the least. If a person does not understand the Mysterious Plan of God, understanding the Bible as a whole will be utterly impossible . . . futile.
No prophecy of Scripture came about by private interpretation of Scripture but men spoke as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.Yikes, then no one should be allowed to speak of, or paraphrase the Bible. I can't imagine not being able to use one of the most important chapters in the Bible that help to define the Mysterious Plan so clearly. Bummer.
So then really the law consigns a man to sin to prove to him he's powerless against it?Paul defines this . . .
Romans 7:7 NLT - "Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, "You must not covet."
Romans 7:7 KJV - "What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."
In other words, the Bible teaches against rape, but what if a person had never heard of rape? They wouldn't even think of it. But once they were told, the Sinful Nature within a person will learn of it and perhaps consider it. This is why we must be very careful as we discuss sin with others, for we take the risk of planting ideas, and the Sin Nature thus uses it against us. That is the power of the Law.
Romans 7:8 NLT - "But sin used this command to arouse all kinds of covetous desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power."
Romans 7:8 KJV - "But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [was] dead."
Romans 7:9 NLT - "At one time I lived without understanding the law. But when I learned the command not to covet, for instance, the power of sin came to life"
Romans 7:9 KJV - "For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died."
Both are saying the same things.
So then really the law consigns a man to sin to prove to him he's powerless against it?
Changing! This may not seem like an answer to your question, but all of this, even the pain and the chaos was set into place, so that, after God places a new heart and spirit into His Chosen Ones, the Power and Glory will magnify Him. There is nothing more Powerful a thing that He can do, than to right the wrongs that [are] His Holy Plans.
When we realized that we are like rats in a maze with no exit other than death, it will be difficult to know our Bible. God has a Plan, and we're in the middle of it at this very moment. All things are under His Supreme Control.
Daniel 2:21-22 NLT - "He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. 22 He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light."
Daniel 2:21-22 KJV - "And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: 22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him."
Unless God reveals His Mysterious Plan to a person, they cannot know or understand His Holy Word. The Plan is very simple to see if we would stop making things so utterly difficult by focusing on issues that have nothing to do with the Plan. Becoming lost in minutia is what keeps the Lord's Plan a total Mystery. We don't need to know culture, customs, nor any of that, because it has nothing to do with the point and Purpose of the Bible . . . to Purify a persons Heart so that they would be acceptable to God. That . . . is all that matters. If we do not seek a Purified Heart, all other things are considered a loss.
Philippians 3:7-8 NIV - "But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ . . ."
It will not be until we apply Phil 3:7,8 and relate it to the concept of the Circumcised Heart, the Bible just won't make sense. "For the Sake of Christ, meaning the obtaining of His Holy Operation. All things are nothing, if we do not receive His Holy Operation, performed by His Spiritual Hands . . . nothing else.
Colossians 2:12 KJV - "Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." - Yes, the KJV specifically indicates a Holy Operation.
Who of you have received this Holy Operation, and how can you [know] that you have received it? This Operation of God is what produces the Romans 12:2 Transformation.
Has anyone been totally Transformed into a New Creation? If so, please stand up and tell us how you know that you are a completely New Creation, and that the Old has been replaced?
Who has changed? Who wants to change? Who is changing?
I don't know.I see Man's separation from God (and subsequent creation of the Church) as being comparable to
"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam;
and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his sideAnd the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man
and closed up the [place with] flesh.
He built up and made into a woman,
and He brought her to the man." Genesis 2:21-22 Amplified, Classic
So then the commandment, thou shalt not eat...bound Eve to eat. Being bound beforehand, by the commandment not to eat, Adam was predisposed to eat when Eve gave. Yes?
