In Isaiah 55:6-13 KJV; In verse 8, The Lord states, For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways. I was visiting an elderly lady friend of mine, during our visit she asked me the question that so many times christian witnesses are asked; " Where did God come from?" and "Who were His parents?". My answer was God always was and is and will be, He is the Beginning and the End. Well she was so unable to grasp it, even though I accompany my words with God's Word. Well, then I told her that this is where faith in God's Word comes in and as well as Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. I told her that there are many questions that we as christians will have to wait until we get to Heaven to get the answer we seek.
It is sad when I see many who try to take a short cut to understanding the thoughts of God and His Ways. With all the books, dictionaries, theologians, scientific research man will never be able to Box a Mighty God in their thought box. I admit there is a lot the Lord wants us to know and understand, John 21:25; And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. KJV. Psalm 40:5; Many, O Lord my God are Thy wonderful works which Thou hast done, and Thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. See v.17;; Psalm 139:17; How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them. Isaiah 55:9; For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Notice that in Chapter 55 of Isaiah the Lord repeats the difference between man's thoughts and ways from His Thoughts and Ways. One must ask, why is He reinforcing His declaration? What is the Lord saying?
I have nothing against learned people, God Bless them. Many times though I hear my heart say; where is your faith? Why are you attempting to bring the Lord down to the level of man's understanding? Do you not know with all your knowledge that God is too big to fit in man's thought box. It will never happen. Unfortunately man and man's religion will keep trying. The Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, and Library Books come off the shelves while the Word of God and one's faith get's dusty for lack of use. What did Jesus say; "a form of godliness but denying the power of God.". ?
