20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20.

Have you ever heard someone say "l live by the faith of the Son of God." You can attend faith seminar's, or you can be built up in the most holy faith, or someone might say I'm trying to get more faith to believe God. But you usally don't hear many folks talk about living by the faith of another. Even most translations of the word of God will read "I live by faith in the Son of God." That is along way apart in understanding what Paul was saying. We all place faith in the Son of God as believers, as a matter of fact that's what makes you a believer. It's grace through faith but faith is what made you a believer. It may be the measure given to you but regardless it was faith.

Paul always did have a way of throwing a monkey wrench (Oklahoma term) into what people knew as true. Not only did he say he was saved by grace through faith but now he was saying there was another part to faith. This faith did not belong to the believer, it was not conjured up by the believer. This faith came by and was through the Christ that was in him.

Have you ever given much thought to the Christ in you having His Own faith, and you could live by that faith. Paul said believers would not only live by faith but for a growing believer they would learn to live by the faith of another. So now not only do believers learn to live by the life of another, that same life has a faith they live by as well.

I don't know what that means to other people, I know what it means to me. I have my understanding on living by the faith of the Son of God.

I have many crude examples of a subject most of the time. For example; when we hear a rags to riches story we go crazy (at least the media) on how they did it. The computer age and the cell phone and other technologies, and they are good stories. But what intrigues me more than anything is how people survived before.

To me; there just seemed to be a faith that most can only know as Paul describes, of another. When you look at what people did and how they did it. I know it was a different time but there seemed to be that faith that Paul said you live by. If you know anything about Christianity where it comes from and how it has survived. I came in on the tail end of the dieing preacher's that were in alot of the different movements of God at the time. Pentecostal movement, the Latter Rain movement, the Healing Revival, big tent revival and so on. The major denominations were formed from these. But it is the same faith today that Paul said the believer has available in them by Christ in them.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: - Ephesians 2:8.

God is the same from age to age.
Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. He had faith and built an Ark.
Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. He had faith in the promise of salvation.
Lot had charity, when he saw the two messengers in the street he took them in. By faith he grabbed hold of their hands and was not destroyed by fire and brimstone.. (wrath of God) .
They say that man must come to Christ before they can know God.
And I believe the Spirit of Christ walks among people of all the ages.
Same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Who was, and is, and is to come.

@soul man The grammar is sometimes objective genitive in the Greek; the faith of = faith in.

that's understood but needs a close look to see the original intent you may be surprised. It only fits in with what Paul has to say about our life. Do you hear much about our life as a message just curious?

That is a favorite verse of scripture, but the way God has handles people at different times changes dramatically. He doesn't need to change to change the way he handles people. Today according to Scripture He speaks today "by His Son."

Today according to Scripture He speaks today "by His Son."
He always has.
Jesus IS the Word of God.
And God spoke... and Jesus poured out ...

It's an image thing. We all have an "image" in our minds what God looks like, what Jesus looks like. what does the Holy Spirit look like??
Not everyone sees the same image. imagination of the mind.
Jesus is the Voice on Mt Sinai. He is the Angel that talked with Abraham. He is the one who spoke to Noah to build an Ark.
He is the Angel that gave water to Hagar at the well. He is the one who came by fire and by cloud.
He is the one who walked in the Garden with Adam.
We see the image of a man.... The Word was in the man. His Word is in us. Who's Word? God's Word. He spoke and Jesus poured out by the Spirit of God.

I don't think it's God that changes, I think it's man's perception of who or what God is.
You do bad you get punished, you do good you get rewarded.
He is the Father, the Mother, the Brother, the Sister, the Son, the Daughter...

Jesus said in heaven there is neither male nor female but as are the angels.
Angels are gender neutral. They can be either/or.
God is either/or/both/ and all things.

It is nearly impossible to think of or pray to God without first having an image in your mind of what your worshipping.
That's why idolatry is the 2nd commandment. Have no other gods before me. It's not just about a physical idol, it's the image you set up in your mind.

Remember when God told Moses, you can't see my face. No one has ever seen the face of God and lived.
He don't want us to make an "image" of him and replace the true with a false.
The snake Moses put on the pole... God told him to destroy the image, because people began to worship the image of the snake.
Look at the medical.. medicine.. symbol is a snake wrapped on a pole.. and yet in many cases it has become poison.
Because we worship the "industry" and put our faith in pharmeceuticals, rather than faith in God, whom alone can heal.

Lots of things...
I haven't had my cup o joe yet..lol
Good morning, or evening..

According to Hebrews he spoke by the prophets at one time.
Many even..
He spoke through them right? He used their mouths, and their hands to say and write what He wanted people to know.
So is that Christ in them?
hmm..
Not only say and write but he even told them how to lay down, what to eat, put your hand through a hole in the wall, give them signs.
But when you read Jeremiah.. what does he look like? Or Ezekiel, or Daniel.. do you make images in your mind of what these look like?
And yet it is the Spirit of God using their physical vessel/body to communicate.
So you never get to see God.. but you do at the same time, because it's not about the outward image, it's what they do and what they say.
You can't put an image on the Spirit saying and doing..
But we see Jesus...
Do we see him physically in the flesh or are we listening and watching what he does by the Spirit?

What does Jesus look like to you?
I seen all kinds of pictures and movies. I have a variety of images of him in the flesh.
It's getting under the skin and bones that matter though..
And what does that look like?

Think about it...

Deu 5:7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
Deu 5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Deu 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
Deu 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

How do you get to the bone and marrow of this??
It's a struggle for me, not to see a man.. in the flesh, walking and talking and healing...
And worshipping the man the body that was created for the Spirit within it.
How do you break the jar that contains the anointing oil,
that has burned an image in your mind?

So we are, and what we do, and what we say... is that, which is unseen.
If so be that ye walk in the Spirit of the Lord..

Am I digging to deep?
God gave us flesh bodies for a reason.
So he could show himself to us through eachother.
otherwise we just be spirits in the wind..
just passing through..
But we are here to dwell temporarily.. in this time and place..
to show those who can't see and can't hear,
what he looks like.

Ye are the light of the world..
let your light so shine before men.

yeah.. deep..
God Bless You Soul Man..

GINOLJC, to all.

hmm..
you're correct, that's Jesus, the Holy Spirit in them. 2 Peter 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

for the Word is the Holy Spirit in the mouth of the prophets. scripture, Genesis 15:1 "After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."

1 Samuel 15:10 "Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,"

1 Kings 6:11 "And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,"

1 Kings 16:1 "Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,"

Ezekiel 1:3 "The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him."

it Goes on and on prophet after prophet. the word of God came in visions, dreams and by the mouth of the prophets. supportive scripture, Hosea 12:10 "I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets."

and now he, God, Jesus, speake to us in flesh, in manifestation of the Spirit.

now addressing the OP, Habakkuk 2:4 "Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith."
who faith? .... "his" faith, the Lord Jesus faith.

No, there was no Christ in you until the cross. There had to be a death to the old man to believe on the new man.

ok, so
Abram.. believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness..
Abram received the righteousness of God for believing.
By the Grace of God, Abram was led from out of Ur to a promised land.
By Faith abram left his father's house and joined God's house.
Abram received a New Name.
God spoke to Abram.. thus breathing on him. And he was led by and of the Spirit of God.
God promised Abraham an eternal inheritance in the Kingdom in which would come through his seed..fruit.

From the time that Abram was living in Ur, to the time that Abram chose to Leave Ur... and follow God,,
was Abram not born again?
Did Abram follow the Spirit of God which led him to the land which he would inherit?
Are we seeking God's Kingdom?
How so?

Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Jhn 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Thank You

Abraham had great faith as many in the Old Testament did as we know but there were no born again in the Old Testament. The born again have Christ in them, that is what makes them born again. Christianity is defined by Christ in you. There is no Christianity with no Christ in you. Christianity is; Christ in you the hope of glory!

Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

Everything that went on that day was marking what would be a vital moment in time for humanity and believers especially. It separated the Old from the New, neither could be compared to each other from that moment. Where do you get these good thoughts from :) glad you do.
