Why would we need "luck," when we have God!

The following is offered as an academic response and is not intended in any way to reflect upon the character of anyone present.

Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Proverbs 6:4-9

Be Prepared.
-Boy Scout motto

Dear Sir;
It is not sufficient to simply say that having God in one's life is sufficient for ALL.
God may provide the means for supper, but somebody's got to go out and buy the vittles and cook the food. And somebody has to do the cleanup afterwards. God isn't going to do that for you.

I do not wish for any Christian to go without. My only caution is that appropriate steps be taken to prepare whenever and whereever possible.

...

It was but it isn't now. Now it is important to have God's Word, the whole thing, tucked in your heart. If you know the Word you will be safe, if you don't you will be deceived.

I think you say it best: aren't you prepared for it?? I would be worried about BEING PREPARED! We're all witnesses as to how many mindsets, paradigms, philosophies, interpretations and thus divisions abound in the christian community and of course everybody is right in thier own opinion. The time is coming when we'll have to act upon all Yeshua's warnings. The problem is everybody has a different interpretation of His warnings! Can you imagine how it would have been if every hebrew in the wilderness followed thier own concept of what Moses instructed? THey would have scattered all over the place and never reached their destination. Is that what's happening this time around with God's people?

Reading Paul's and rjp's comments points me to the answer of my own question in this forum. It's something i've wrote about in the past and has come back to haunt me very recently: I think the very very very next prophecy to occur (trust me, you cannot possibly imagine how horrible a feeling it is to write this) is the destruction of America.

I think God is calling, and has been calling on His people in the land of America to prepare; for what's coming is B-A-D! I STRONGLY suggest you read the following article below and get with God as to the accuracy, veracity and truth behind the commentaries and sources behind what you will read.

God bless.

I read the articles at that link. I tend to agree with much of it, though it took a long time for him to get to the point. He mentioned how our Heavenly Father wants His servants to be dwelling on "Brideship" instead of trying to figure out endtime events, the rapture, and their order. He mentioned how the many debates on rapture timing is causing a division within Christ's Body. He links his "day of the clouds" with the time of Christ's coming and our gathering with the day of The LORD, which is Biblically correct. So how did he not preach the time of Christ's coming with that?

Furthermore, rapture debates are going to cause divisions in Christ's Body because so few believers take time out of their busy lives to listen to God's Word to do their own homework, which is why those don't have much of a clue as to how the endtime events are going to unfold. They are forced to listen to guessers and false prophets instead, which is their own fault. Our Lord Jesus expects His servants to know the events leading up to His return, otherwise He would not have given that to us in His Word. Per His Word, we are even given to know within 3 and 1/2 days when to expect the last trumpet to sound with His coming.

As for those who plan the end of America, that should have been obvious long ago for those on watch, for many of America's leaders have been getting away from the U.S. Constitution a very long time now, even while they claim to abide by it. (it's the FRUIT we are to discern, remember?) But it's not about a literal destruction of America, but America going into a one world government system just like ALL the other nations on earth will. I've known about the plans for a one world government since the late 1970's, how long have you known? One can discover OPEN political discussions about it just in America going back to at least the 1920's (Foreign Affairs magazine is one source; read Philip Drew: Administrator, a work written by Mandel House, President Woodrow Wilson's right-hand man in the White House). If those behind it were willing to openly discuss it back then, it means they no longer saw a threat to keep it secret anymore. It means they no longer fear us Christians nor any political group being able to stop it. Why would those behind it do that?

It's because they actually know Bible prophecy a lot better than most of God's people do. They know God has ordained their one world beast to occur, and none will be able to stop it. So why haven't the majority of God's people learned that, since our Lord Jesus well warned us of it, and even what He desires of us during the tribulation?

Our Lord Christ Jesus said He did not come to bring peace on the earth at His first coming, but a sword, bringing division (Matt.10:34-42). The reason for the division is to find out who cares more about Him and His Word, instead of man's word and this world. That division allows Him to prune the dead branches off His tree.

It would be more practical to ask where we are now in God's timeline of events leading up to Christ's return, our gathering, and the end of this world.

The final "one week" of the Book of Daniel has not begun yet, but very near. It's to involve a "vile person" that will take Jerusalem and setup the abomination (false idol worship) like what Antiochus Epiphanes did in 165 B.C. Jerusalem. Antiochus is still the best fit to date of the "abomination of desolation" prophecy. That involved a temple in Jerusalem, and that kind of working is what our Lord Jesus was pointing to in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 when He gave His disciples the signs of the end.

As of today, orthodox Jews in Jerusalem have the materials ready to build another temple, including the temple articles for Old Covenant style worship. The prophecies in Daniel 9:27 and chapters 11 & 12, and in Matt.24 and Mark 13, and in Revelation 11:1-8, all suggest another temple being built for the end of this world.

The locust army prophecy in the Book of Joel links with the locusts in Revelation 9, which is about Christ's enemies who take control over the earth and its resources (a time of the heathen nations; Ezek.30:3; Luke 21 about the times of the Gentiles). That's where we are now in the timeline. The locust working is in stages with one world government being the final goal.

Financial crisis has already begun, which is part of the locust army working to bring all nations under one economic system. All control on earth can be briefly summed up as political, educational, financial, and religion. Religion will be the last frontier they conquer, and the most important area of influence. The first beast of Rev.13:1 is the world government system over all nations (see Rev.17:15 about our Lord's definition of the "waters"). Once nation's economies are in control, then you have political control. With political control comes control over education. With control of education the last area to conquer is religion.

The second beast of Rev.13:11 forward is a religious beast, a false messiah working great signs and wonders on the earth to deceive with.

Like someone here already showed, a false one will make a league with many for 7 years (symbolic "one week" of Dan.9), confirming a covenant which is most likely a renewal of the Old Covenant worship and animal sacrifices. Then in the middle of that 7 years the religious beast will appear ending the daily sacrifice and set himself up to be worshipped in place of Christ.

Many things in the prophetic time line, which were hidden from previous generations, have been revealed to us. The revelation hasn't been spiritual or even intellectual. It has come from the headlines of our newspapers and from the top news stories on the evening TV coverage.

Consequently we now know, at least in part, the identity of the last great false messiah. It has been predicted that he will utter blasphemous things against God and that even many who call themselves Christians will be deceived.

For example, the people from whom he shall come teach their children that Jesus will bow down and pray to him.
They teach themselves that even Christians will accept their messiah whole heartedly.
And they teach one another that if they work hard they will make his coming all the sooner.

Where will this beast come from and what is his name?

His name is AL-MAHDI and he will be the Muslim messiah, the Christian anti-Christ. His hands will be covered in blood and his agenda will be the extermination of the Jewish race and the submission of all Christians. Don't believe me? Read it first hand from a Muslim writer. This is part of their plan for us.........
-------------------------------------
From
The Concept of Messiah in Islam
by Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi

Ibn Khaldun, the 14th century historian famous for his pioneering work in philosophy of history, writes
in his Muqaddima:

"It has been (accepted) by all the Muslims in every epoch, that at the end of time a man
from the family (of the Prophet) will, without fail, make his appearance, one who will
strengthen Islam and make justice triumph. Muslims will follow him, and he will gain
domination over the Muslim realm. He will be called the Mahdi."

WHO IS THE MAHDI?
In trying to identify the person who will be the Mahdi and the Saviour, the only source we have is the
Prophet of Islam. According to his sayings, the basic characteristics of Mahdi are as follows:

1. He will be an Arab, from the tribe of Banû Hãshim.
2. He will be from the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad
through his daughter Fatima.
3. He will be the descendant of Husayn, son of Fatima and ‘Ali.
4. He will appear in Mecca.
5. Finally, one of the most interesting thing that we find in the sayings of the Prophet
is that Imam al-Mahdi will be helped by Prophet Jesus.

We are told that Jesus will descend to the earth soon after the appearance of the Mahdi; he will join
the Mahdi in establishing the Kingdom of God on earth; and he will pray behind Imam al-Mahdi. The
true Christians will follow Jesus in accepting Imam al-Mahdi as the leader at the time and become
Muslims.

Didn't that happen when the Romans stopped the sacrifices and desecrated the temple before destroying Jerusalem? back in 70 A.D. ?

Per the Jewish historian Josephus (100 A.D.), the Romans never were able to enter the Jerusalem temple before it burned. It caught fire prior to their being able to desolate it with setting up any abomination (idol) within it.

But Antiochus Epiphanes in 165 B.C. did enter the temple and sacrificed swine upon the altar, and spread its broth around inside the temple, and also setup an altar to Zeus to try and make Greek religion the universal religion for all. However, Antiochus was already long dead when Christ mentioned the abomination of desolation prophecy from the Book of Daniel while overlooking the Temple Mount from the Mount of Olives with His disciples.

The "abomination of desolation" prophecy from Daniel is a multiple fulfillment type of prophecy, like what has been will be again. What the Romans did in 70 A.D. Jerusalem may be seen as a 'type' of fulfillment, but it was not the one our Lord Jesus pointed to in final within His Olivet discourse (Matt.24; Mark 13). It's very easy to know that, because our Lord Jesus was giving the seven signs of the end of this world, paralleled in Revelation 6 with the seven seals.

And what do we know about fulfillment of Bible prophecy for this world when the Revelation seals, trumpets, and vials are completed? We know He will have returned to this earth, back to the spot where He ascended to Heaven from, gathering all the saints to Him there, His cup of wrath poured out upon the wicked, the resurrection happenning, and all the kingdoms of this world becoming under His rule with His elect. Those are to be literal events of fulfillment. And none of that has happenned yet today.

Now to say the events of the seven seals, trumpets, and vials of Revelation is already history, is to try and say Christ Jesus has returned, and that He with His elect are now ruling over all kingdoms of this world, and, that the resurrection is past also. That would be to preach acceptance of this world and how it is now, still with wickedness going on, with those who sleep in Jesus still not with us, and the beliefs in many various gods by peoples on this earth still manifest.

Some within the Preterist and Historicist views today believe exactly that, that Christ's second coming is only a spiritual coming, and that it happenned back in 70 A.D. with the Matthew 24 prophecy fulfilled then. That simply does not align within God's Holy Writ. If an event such as Christ's second coming can be spiritualized into a non-literal event, then any prophecy given in God's Word can. That is very dangerous thinking. And it should be a major sign of doctrine originating from the crept in unawares who seek to destroy God's Truth.

Dear vetran, great research on your part. . Let's look around to events to date, first the restoration of Israel, being a state since 1948,many Jews returning to Israel. Earthquakes in various places. The rise of many muslim countries readying themselves to come against Israel. Oil will be one of the reasons as well as their hatred toward Israel, taught in the Koran. Wars and rumors of war certainly exists. Paul in Romans that man would give up what is right for that which is evil. That evil will be good and goodness will be bad. That certainly is happening today. All prophecy has been fullfilled to date. All that was prophesied for up to this date has been fullfilled. The Lord's tarry is to allow all to accept Him as their Savior. Jesus in John, Chapter 3 said "I did not come to condem the world, but that it is saved through Me". He also said "I do not condem you for you condem yourselves for not believing in the One and Only Son of God.". He so loves the world that He does not want it to perish (anybody), unfortunately some will not believe in Christ, which is sad to the Lord and should be to all of us who Follow Jesus Christ. The signs of the times should be a call to all of us to roll up our sleeve for the Harvest Fields are more ready now for Harvest then ever befoore. See you in the Fields. Love you in Jesus Name.

The one big thing that has to happen is the gospel being preached and published to the whole world. The falling away that Paul spoke of has happened, that was the churches falling away. The love of many will turn cold and that has happened. The little horn has to arise, and knock out 3 of the 10 kings. I don't know if that has happened yet or not? We need to see the son of perdition too. How he is going to be revealed is what we are all now waiting to see.

According to Arnie Madsen:

God says
He does it .... Israel makes a fast and decisive move and the Land of Jacob is now Israel .
The modern nation of Israel is now within it's old and proper border. Genesis 28:1-5
Repeated in Ezekiel 28: 25-26
Psalm 83 goes into effect.
Peace and safety for Israel.
For a time.
Then rumbling from the North.
Gog heads south
.

What's next on the prophetic calendar? God knows. Man doesn't have a clue.

Prideful interpretations of scripture abound and usually have to be readjusted every few months because of their inaccuracy. No one is satisfied with the simple knowledge that the season of the end is at hand. Everybody wants to be tickled with specifics. No specifics will be given.

In the early 1970's I began to read this prophetic material. Tracts issued by Chick Publications and the novel by Hal Lindsay are examples of the stuff I inhaled.
As time went by I noticed slight revisions and reprintings of these documents because the predicted events either didn't happen or had become untenable. The season remained, but the details escaped the authors. Hal Lindsay, for example, used Bible scripture to predict numerous earthquakes all over the planet and then proceeded to build a new house for himself on the San Andreas fault, a center for earthquake activity in the American west. His house still stands to this day.

I'm not saying that prophecy is wrong or that God has forgotten to fulfill His promises. Indeed, there is no argument any more on the part of anyone that the season of the end times, described by Christ Himself, is already upon us. In response to His disciples' question about the end times, Jesus said that we could tell by watching the season of change.

Terrible things are predicted and as the season progresses they will become worse. The Great Apostasy, predicted for the end, is fully involved and a reality. In Europe, the church has almost completely disappeared. Most authorities on the subject agree that the continent, which was once the cradle of Christendom, is now entirely pagan. Mission groups consider Europe to be in need of evangelization and mission work more than any third world country. In America, the gospel of prosperity continues to be a popular subject instead of discipleship. This despite a singluar lack of prosperity in general. The shepards of the flock are too busy building shrines to their 'ministry' to notice that the morality of the nation continues to decline.

In America, nationalistic pride has seized the mind of every single person whether they be Christian, Jew or secular. National pride has blinded everyone to the danger to our heritage and liberty. "It can't happen to us," we have always said. It not only can, but it has. Disaster is upon us and we are still arguing about things which have no meaning.

America is doomed. No man can be saved unless he first believes he is a sinner and no nation can be restored unless it's people first understand and admit they are lost. The majority of Americans not only deny they are lost, but vehemently oppose any such suggestion either by religious or secular sources. Declarations and definitions of sin from the pulpit are very nearly hate crimes. Good is now determined to be evil and evil is declared to be good. Petty bickering is considered to be high drama (Glee). Violence and betrayal is entertainment (The Departed).

It is the season of the witch. Vampires are the object of love instead of fear and disgust. Satan is abroad in the land working what it will. All the time the saints are only half awake. When our eyes are fully open shall we see anything less than the scouring of the land by a Holy and Angry God?

National pride drives away the reality of our situation even from the hearts of devoted Christians.
We need to remember that we serve the cross and a risen saviour, not a debauched and corrupted flag.

The season of the end is at hand and this is only the beginning of woes....

Only God knows what is next.
May He be merciful to those of us who are called by His name.
May He hold Israel in the palm of His hand.
