Note....I tried to separate this thread into five segments so it would be easier to digest...it wouldn't allow me to do that. I even signed out and then signed back in to post the next segment and still...it was all placed together. Sorry...I tried. :)

This thread is to understand what is meant by.....Horses, Chariots and Whirlwinds. As with so much in the Bible there are two sides and both sides have their horses, chariots and whirlwinds. Although some may have been literal...we know that not all are to be understood that way. So, just what are they? Who or what do they represent? First...the horses, chariots and whirlwinds of fire.

2 Kings 2:11-12 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

They walked together then suddenly a "chariot and horses of fire" appeared. They were set apart by them and then Elijah was taken by a whirlwind up into heaven.

Was Elisha saying that Elijah was the chariot and horsemen of Israel or was he saying....look, it's the chariot and horsemen of Israel coming for Elijah? That question is answered.....

2 Kings 13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

Elisha, as Elijah, was also "the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof," for in, [11 Kings 2:15] it is written...."the spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha[/I]," and that "spirit" is the key to unlocking what the chariots are.

As Elijah and Elisha were respectively but one individual they cannot be properly termed "horsemen" so we understand that they, as those filled with this same spirit, the spirit of prophecy, are the horsemen of Israel. God's horsemen are those God dwells in, His prophets/saints...those His Spirit guides and they in turn prophesy His Word to God's children who are those they teach, those that follow God, those that are the horses. The horsemen guide the horses...leading them on a specific path. Horsemen of God lead them to God and the promised land but Satan's horsemen lead them to Egypt. In the case of the "horses of fire" they would be angelic beings but there are also horses in flesh. What are the chariots...both the heavenly chariots of fire and the ones on earth?

Both Elijah and Elisha were termed "the chariot and horsemen of Israel." I believe that the "spirit of Elijah," that our Saviour spoke of IS the chariot of Israel. The spirit the horses of fire run with, the spirit they carry, is His chariot of Israel.

These horses and chariots of fire are better explained in the following passages. Here, when Elisha was facing an enemy he said to his frightened servant.....

2 Kings 6:16-18 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And He smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

The horses and chariots of fire are God's army, His angelic army (as we are His earthly army, His chariots, horsemen and horses in this flesh life) and they are around us as we face the enemy. But what of those on the other side, the side of our enemy?

Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

When we see the enemy, recognize his forces and their chariots of spiritual wickedness they want to overtake us with...do not be afraid, do not be deceived! Our Father protects us. Not all are able to discern the spirit of their chariots...but...we are:

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Our Father and His forces.....

Psalm 104:1-4 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds His chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire:

His chariot is "the clouds," and the clouds are His witnesses. We, as His many witnesses, are His clouds, we are His chariot that carries His Words of fire, raining it down upon those that will hear.

Ezekiel 1:3-5 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.

God is The Word and The Word came expressly to Ezekiel....So, God was in the whirlwind of fire for "the Word was God." [John 1:1] This whirlwind was a great cloud filled with fire. That fire is His Word and His Word is the Lord...."Is not My word like as a fire? saith the LORD." [Jeremiah 23:29] There was a literal object in it's midst that held living creatures and that object is said to be the "colour of amber," meaning it was "a shining substance, bronze or polished metal." I wonder what that object was for it held not only living creatures but "His throne" and "the glory of the Lord?" [Ezekiel 1:26]

Ezekiel 1:15-20 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

The living creatures (angelic beings) were beside one of the wheels (picture this wheel situated flatly on it's side as a circular disk, frisby-like...not upright as a rolling wheel) which had landed. The other wheels, round, disk shaped objects, apparently had not landed. Their color was "of a beryl" which is a "yellow colored stone." Or...the colour of amber, defined as "bronze, polished metal. As these wheels traveled about in the air they remained as a dish, flat, "on their sides" and they didn't turn as would a car, wagon, horse, etc. but they simply, suddenly changed direction. Picture the "wheel in the middle of a wheel" as another layer, section to the craft...a ring with eyes - portholes? The beings were in the wheel/craft for when it was lifted up so were the living creatures...they were passengers in the wheels, the wheels were in the whirlwind, the whirlwind was a tempest, a great bright cloud filled with fire.

He just showed us how His forces travel. His horses of fire, angelic beings, living creatures...are in the wheels. What of His earthly horses?

Zechariah 10:2-5 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited His flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as His goodly horse in the battle. Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together. And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

The house of Judah IS His goodly horse. This horse carried His Word and guarded it through the millennia. From this horse came the Savior. Our Father fights with them as he confounds the horsemen, the leaders, of the enemy's horses.

Psalms 32:8-9 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

Isaiah 66:14-16 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward His servants, and His indignation toward His enemies. For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by His sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

Jeremiah 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

Jeremiah 30:22-24 And ye shall be My people, and I will be your God. Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until He hath done it, and until He have performed the intents of His heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.

The chariots carry many different spirits that God's horses and Satan's horses pull forward in this life. There is....the spirit of God, of the Lord, of His Son, of Elijah, of meekness, of truth, of humbleness, wisdom and revelation, understanding, judgment, holiness, of life, promise, adoption, of counsel and might, the spirit of the fear of the Lord, the spirit of grace and the spirit of prophecy which is the testimony of Jesus. There is also.... the spirit of error, of man, slumber, whoredoms, spirit of the beast, fear, bondage, divination, of Egypt, the world, an unclean devil, infirmity and the spirit of antichrist.

There are many various chariots that are many various spirits and the horses of both sides are ridden by the horsemen/leaders of both sides of the equation.

These chariots, these various spirits we live by, are "like a whirlwind." What of Satan's forces?

Satan's forces.....

Jeremiah 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

As we are God's great cloud of witnesses....Satan too has clouds of followers, his false witnesses.

Isaiah 31:1-3 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Yet He also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back His words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out His hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

Psalm 20:6-8 Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will hear him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

The horses and chariots of fire are spirit, they are of God. The horses and chariots of Egypt, although they are many and they are strong...are NOT God, nor of God, nor are the horses spirit. They are flesh and they shall fall along with all those that trust in them and "stay on horses." He WILL NOT call back His words! We must understand what those "horses and chariots" are.

Our example, given in the beginning for the end of days, is.....

Exodus 14:9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

All of the above are his army...the army is the power of Pharaoh who is symbolic of the antichrist, the ruler of Egypt and it's worldly temptations. The horses, chariots and riders are his army and as this example shows....they pursued Israel until they crossed the Red Sea....and so shall they persue us until we too have crossed.

Deuteronomy 11:4 And what He did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how He made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;

Destroyed can mean to be "given up, be lost, go astray, be destroyed under Divine judgment." This wicked and tempting army of Pharaoh/Antichrist are still, "to this day" going astray and are under Divine judgment (destroyed).

Exodus 15:4-5 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath He cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.

Isaiah 43:16-18 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

They were then as they are now, "unto this day," drowned in the Red sea. Meaning, today those in the sea are spiritually dead. They are sunken into the abyss...covered by "the water of the Red sea," the same sea we must pass through in this flesh life. To live eternally we must stay on the path He provides, the "narrow path in the mighty waters," or we too will be covered by the depths, pulled under by their deception, their temptation to return to Egypt and it's carnality.

That brings us to today....

Zechariah 10:10-11 And I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon: and place shall not be found for them. And he {they}shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

He will bring us through the Red Sea...away from Egypt but He warns....

Deuteronomy 17:15-16 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother. But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

At present we have a "king" over us that is not "our brother" or "among thy brethren," but is a "stranger," a foreigner. And...we voted him into office. We set him over us. Recently I saw a video of him, and I'm paraphrasing, in which he derided some of the laws given in the Old Testament as well as laughingly asking...."can you imagine our country being ruled by the sermon on the mount?" Well...some of us wanted change and here he is.

What is meant by "he shall not multiply horses?" Causing people to spiritually "return to Egypt" and it's carnality is done in order to "multiply horses to himself." It appears that the return of his subjects to wordly things must be accomplished in order to achieve his "multiplying horses." Much more is being taught, I believe, than our Father being against a king owning literal horses. King Solomon, who certainly wasn't the shining example of someone following God's commandments, accrued many....but, were they literal?

1 Kings 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

Odd wording there. Is it saying forty thousand horses or forty thousand stalls or forty thousand horses in the stalls? Are the stalls for his horses or for his chariots? (Bullinger writes that the number 40,000 should probably be 4,000 as shown in 11 Chron.9:25 but if that is true...he had many more horsemen than horses.)

While watching a news program I was suddenly shown what multiplying horses is. :D Horses carry their riders, the horsemen, (leaders) and the horses (people) are needed to vote in order to keep their leader at the reins...riding their backs. If our leaders cause people to "return to Egypt," by promising....your home, your food, your education, your health...will be paid for then those horses continue to be ridden by the horsemen...the bit stays in their mouths and they are under the horsemen's control with the bridle in their hands. They keep voting them in because they're promised a nice fresh stall and lots of oats to eat. They need just over 50% of the horses under their control and...they're in power forever. They are controlled through Politics, Finance, Education and Religion. All designed to keep their horses attached to their chariots.

The riders (horsemen) cause the people (horses) to trust in Egypt, not in the Lord and they are then horses that give their strength (votes) to keep those leaders/horsemen in power. Our kings (part of the spiritual wickedness in high places) have been and are now....multiplying their horses!

Although Paul writes....

Ephesians 6:12 (666) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

....we also face earthly battles for our enemies are led by those Paul warns us of. They are the horsemen/riders/leaders of the horses and their chariots that are filled with spiritual wickedness. We're given a clue on who the horses are that we physically battle against...

Jeremiah 51:27 Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.

Minni - Division; (a portion of Armenia,) Ararat - High, holy ground; (where Noah's ark came to rest in the Armenian highlands,) Ashchenaz - spreading fire; (can be associated with the German race.)

Are the "nations" that are prepared against "her" the "high holy ground, the spreading fire causing a division?" A division between "her," the her being Babylon the great whore, and God's Kingdom? Biblical names carry meanings...do they here? I wonder who the "captain" is that will be/has been appointed against her?

The rough caterpillers are "young locusts in the devouring stage - the cankerworm." They are the "horses" ridden by, guided by, horsemen filled with the spirit of the chariots of wickedness.

Joel 2:3-5 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.

We see caterpillers/locusts and horses linked in several passages. The horses of Satan are the caterpillars/locusts/men and their riders, the horsemen, those guiding them, are Satan's forces....Kenites and fallen angels! Their appearance is like the horses, the locusts, the people...a strong people. But, some are supernatural....fallen angels.

Habakkuk 1:7-9 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves. Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat. They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

Their horses, their terrible and dreadful horses, are, I believe....Islam! Of course we have many horses of our own that are terrible and dreadful but they are a "nation from far."

Deuteronomy 28:49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

Hosea 8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed My covenant, and trespassed against My law.

I go back to, "they shall come from far, they shall fly as the eagle," in the above verse; is this literal? Do they fly, did they fly planes into the towers? Do the horsemen, leaders, fallen angels, fly in whirlwinds? Remember, both sides have these whirlwinds.

Zechariah 12:3-5 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

Astonishment = bewilderment, terror. He will look with favour on Judah and all the horses of the people (the people of the earth, those gathered against Judah) He will blind. Jerusalem is the strength of Judah for we, Christians, are Jerusalem...we are His holy nation and are strong allies with our brother Judah even though they still term our Savior..."their God."

Revelation 9:6-10 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Revelation 9:15-18 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

The "heads of the horses," were as the "heads of lions." The leaders of the horses....the horsemen, are their heads for they are their leaders, their guides and these heads/leaders/riders were "as," the heads of lions. They are pretending to be of the Lion of the tribe of Judah but....they are associated with the wrong lion for they speak LIES. From the mouths of these leaders (heads), horsemen, comes great deception and that deception kills spiritually!

Revelation 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

I wonder, does the blood "unto the horse bridles" refer to the horsemen as being the bridles for they are those holding the reins/bridles...guiding the horses away from the Lord. Are they those that are crushed in the winepress for they are...the wicked?

Psalms 32:8-9 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

In conclusion. While searching the Scriptures we find they explain all things. Our Saviour told us....But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. [Mark 13:23] Although I still have questions about "horses," including the various colors mentioned with them...white, black, red, bay and grisled....other questions have been answered:

1. The Biblical chariots represent the various spirits of those they carry...good and bad.

2. Chariots of fire are spirits of fire...His words are fire. [Jeremiah 23:29]

3. The chariot of Israel is Elijah, Elisha and all of God's prophets...including His prophets today for it carries the spirit of prophecy.

4. The chariots of Pharaoh/Egypt carry carnal spirits...desires, lusts, worldly thoughts.

5. The Wheels associated with chariots/horses/whirlwinds, that carry living creatures...I'll let you decide what they are. :)

6. The horses are people/souls..some good and some not.

7. The horses of fire are angelic beings.

8. The horsemen are their leaders (prophets, teachers, fallen angels)...guiding the horses down the paths they want them on. Some good and some not.

9. The clouds are clouds of witnesses...some good and some not.

10. The whirlwind is a great cloud of fire, a tempest in which you may find wheels...wheels of polished metal.
