We are saved d from the penalty, power and, eventually, the very presence of sin, I thought. :)
Yes salvation has a past, present and future aspect to the process. The same with sin- past, present and future aspects with forgiveness. The two go hand in hand with sin/salvation.

Simply stated, we are saved to be with God.

As I listen to what people talk about, it seems to me the common understanding is that it's all about us, and how we benefit. I propose that the primary reason we are being rescued is that God is unwilling to let go of His original Plan. It's about Him.

Much love!

I would agree, saying, Saved "UNTO" Him.

Seems primary faction Taught by men is Saved "FROM" Hell.

I have always favored, Saved "UNTO" Him.

Basis being: (in Brief)
•We begin as "His Creation"
•Freewill allows us a Choice, to BE His, or Reject BEING His.
•Every man who freely chooses to BE His;
•In essence Has Just Agreed to BE:
The Lord God Almighty"s "INHERITANCE".

On a very basic thought, via Scripture:
Inheritance "protocol" was/is a very big deal, highly prized. (For men).
(And much ado about men caring for or squandering flippantly ... their inheritance.)

Personally I believe that "highly prized" inheritance (for men), is reflective of a highly prized "Inheritance", men can become "unto" the Lord God Himself.

EX 34:
[9] And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

A big deal IMO- when a Natural CREATED man, is Against God, and can freely choose to Be Forgiven, and Be MADE Whole (body, soul, spirit) AS an Acceptable, Wholly, Holy Inheritance OF the Lord God Almighty.

(And no doubt, The Lord God would have the Utmost Regard and Care of His Inheritance.)

Glory to God,
Taken

Are we . . . saved to rescue us from sin?

Saved to rescue us from death?

Saved to have an abundant life?

Saved to produce much fruit?

Saved to show a good testimony?

All of these, I think, but primarily,

We are saved for the purpose of restoring God's Image to His created people, and that being for the purpose that we would have relationship with God, His children.

We are saved for the purpose of being God's children, the recipients of His love. That's why we are saved. Because that's what God wanted, and when sin took that away, He gave it back.

Much love!

HI Marks:

To answer you ini one verse:

Revelation 4:11
King James Version

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Mankind was created to please God! Once we focus on that, all the things He calls us to do fall into tehir proper place!

That's part of it!

:)

But I think that this is "merely" God removing the obstacle to what He really wants, which is to have us sharing life with Him.

We are saved from sin, saved from death, saved for God. So that instead of sinning, I can spend this moment at peace with my Creator, as He leads me in this life.

Much love!

I see this slightly different . . . "and for thy pleasure, they exist, and were created", that this was God's pleasure, to make us. He made us because it pleased Him to do so.

Other translations put this as, "by Your will they are and were created". God's choosing. His pleasure to do so.

For us to submit to His reconciliation and rebirth simply restores us back into His game plan.

Much love!

I think it was in The Screwtape Letters where C.S. Lewis speaks of God's plan to populate this universe with little replicas of Himself, people with the same character and mind as Him, something like that!

God is love, and love gives. God created us to love, to share His very best with, which is Himself.

Because God is SO GOOD, He made us so that He could give good gifts to us. I too shall be satisfied when I awake in His likeness!

Much love!
