...my having been banned from CB for one month - graciously, thanks - right after this exemplary post of rules abiding true Christians --
Where does the Bible say...

Sooooo, we should just allow people to psychotically assault our faith and spread their hateful filth like the angry and Scripturally-bankrupt person below and say nothing??

Look who is in cahoots.

Defending the faith is defending Christ.

What indeed has been far more interesting than me having gotten banned, was the aftermath of this 'discussion'.

I personally think you have bumped your head, and need to have some rest and lie down if you think what I shared proves such a thing.
A scriptural "day", is indeed compromised of two parts, a night and day:

Genesis 1:5 "... And the evening and the morning were the first day."
Genesis 1:8 "... And the evening and the morning were the second day."
Genesis 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Genesis 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Genesis 1:31 - "... And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."
Thus in days 1-6 "the evening and the morning" constitute a day, even as Jesus stated:
Joh_11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
Notice that there are "twelve hours in the day", and "day" in this instance is defined as "see the light of this world", which is the Sun, since Christ Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness in
Malachi 4:2. Thus there are also "twelve hours" in the "dark" part of the "day", since the ways of God are "equal" (Ezekiel 18:25,29). The 24 Elders also correspond to this in Heaven also, but that is another study.
Thus so too the Sabbath, begins in darkness, moves into the light portion and ends in darkness, just as Jesus was placed into the tomb as the sun was about to set and rested the whole period of the sabbath (in spite of what G.E. postulates).

Genesis 1:1-3 begins in night/darkness, and light comes afterward. Thus the next day begins with darkness, followed by light.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

BreadOfLife
By YOUR flawed logic a "twelve hour day" would mean that the Sabbath ENDS at sunrise.
You need to be able to understand the language of Scripture. Gen 1:5 explicitly states that the Light was called "Day" and the Darkness was called "Night".
This is why MOST translations make it CLEAR that there was "evening" and the "morning" came, it was describing were TWO SEPARATE days. "And then came" the morning ISN'T part of the SAME day. It illustrates that a previous day is over and a NEW day has arrived . . .
New International Version
And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day.
New Living Translation
And EVENING PASSED and MORNING CAME, marking the third day.
English Standard Version
And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
Berean Study Bible
And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
New American Standard Bible
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Christian Standard Bible
Evening came and then morning: the third day.
Contemporary English Version
Evening came, then morning--that was the third day.
Good News Translation
Evening passed and morning came--that was the third day.
Holman Christian Standard Bible
Evening came and then morning: the third day.
NET Bible
There was evening, and there was morning, a third day.
New Heart English Bible
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
GOD'S WORD® Translation
There was evening, then morning-a third day.
JPS Tanakh 1917
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
New American Standard 1977
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
American Standard Version
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Brenton Septuagint Translation
And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
English Revised Version
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
World English Bible
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Young's Literal Translation
and there is an evening, and there is a morning -- day third.

You cannot see what you are doing by saying what you are saying (even as it is error). You just proved G.E. right in his theology. You just made Christ Jesus resurrect on Sabbath rather than the first day of the week, for He (Jesus) arose "before sunrise", before it was daylight, before morning.
Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
Mat 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Mar 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Mar 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Mar 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
Luk 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
Luk 24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
Luk 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Joh 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
When you say that "evening" is part of a previous day, since it is the "dark" part, you just added another day into Genesis also, that existed before the "first day", since the world began in darkness.
Not only did you just break Genesis, you also broke the resurrection.

And herein lies the problem with you Biblical literalists.
Earlier, YOU posted a verse where Jesus mentioned that a "day" was 12 hours. He was merely talking about the time that the sun shined - NOT an entire day. An ENTIRE day includes the morning and evening - of the SAME day. When it is still dark at 1:00 in the morning - it is STILL part of that same day.
You simply refuse to accept the the Sabbath was NOT mentioned until it was introduced as a holy day is in Exod. 16:23, where God gives the Israelites instructions for gathering manna, which prefigures the Eucharist (John 6:28-59).
So, here we go arguing about what a "day" is - and we'll KEEP going in circles because you have been brainwashed by your sect and its false prophetess . .

Obviously the horse hasnt thrown you yet, Still trying top force the LAW upon the saved. Brain washed sects,, yea all religions say that about all the other religions, what has any of mens fables and religions to do with God, and still Christ is being rejected by men for there own religions. Some things just dont change.

You still do not see what you are doing? That makes Jesus resurrected on Sabbath. Follow your logic:

morning - evening - 6th day (Jesus dead on the cross, placed in the tomb.)

morning - evening - the 7th day ("When it is still dark at 1:00 in the morning - it is STILL part of that same day.") - the 7th day (Jesus in the tomb, but gets up before the sun is up or even out or even visible)

morning (sunrise) - evening - the first day

See, you just agreed to G.E.'s theology.

The Bible's logic:

evening - morning - which day closes with sun set (leading into the next days evening) - 5th day (Last Supper in Upper room and Gethsemane)

evening (arrested, trials, &c) - morning - which day closes with sun set (leading into the next days evening) - 6th day (Jesus dead on the cross, placed in the tomb.)

evening (Jesus still dead) - morning - which day closes with sun set (leading into the next days evening) - the 7th day (Jesus in the tomb still dead, 24 hours)

evening (Jesus arises some time before sunrise, the same time he always gets up) - morning (sunrise; Jesus already left the tomb, women show up) - first day of the week

WRONG.

You are purposely conflating the reckoning of a day at Creation to the reckoning of a day within the Law.
This is caused by the fact that you refuse to accept that the Sabbath wasn't created until Exod. 16:23 - and it was done so for MAN (Mark 2:27).

Like I said before - this argument will NEVER have a resolution as long as you remain a willing participant in the false doctrines of your 19th century man-made sect.

What is of interest - to me in any case - about the above interchange of love between BOL and ReChoired, viz., between Roman Catholic and SDA, of course has nothing to do with the responses in posts #3 and #4.
But very interesting is or are the facts BOL agreed with me where it matters most, and that is, in the LITERAL meaning Bible words tend to have, and that ReChoired pointed out the logical effect to him which I don't need at all.
The second point of interest is the conspicuous reality of HOW ReChoired DIFFERS with his own church the SDA on the exegesis or interpretation of Genesis 1 with total confusing result.

THUS BOTH opponents of this <<psychotic .. hateful filth .. the angry and Scripturally-bankrupt person>> GerhardEbersoehn, EXPOSED THEMSELVES.

Now isn't that a triumphant note at the moment of which to be banned (for one month, please note). So thanks, christianityboard.com once again. God bless

Very confusing thread.... Its hard to keep a scorecard here of what people believe. My understanding through reading the Bible as well as consulting various Jewish websites (pertaining to this subject) is that the Hebrew day begins at sunset and ends at sunset. That is a full "day": it includes a period of darkness (night or evening) and a period of light (day or daytime, which is different in context to a full day). I see no evidence to believe otherwise.

The supreme truth of truth, that Jesus ROSE FROM THE DEAD "THE WEEKLY SABBATH" - 'Sabbatohn' the Christian, New Testament name of the day the Old Testament "Seventh Day Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD", is not dependant on the Law but confirms the Law of God IN WHATSOEVER CONTEXT OR MODE OR AGE. In a word, because "Christ rose from the dead the third day according to the Scriptures" the Seventh Day Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD is the ONLY "Sabbath Day-of-rest remaining for the People of God" Hebrews 4:8,9.

Well, I'm even leas clear at what you are getting at.
That is "The Last Week"--days 1 to 6 of it --
the relevant Scripture in
the last chapters of the four Gospels, in
textual sequence put together in
chronological and logical, historical order,
word for word, verse by verse, context to context, using
the King James Version interlinear with the Greek,
and every shadow of doubt about Christ's perfect fulfilment of
the Passover of Yahweh's "three days thick darkness" is dispelled
sola Scriptura as
per the Article of the Christian Confession of Faith,
I believe in Christ, who
was crucified, who died and was buried, and who
“ROSE from the dead according to the Scriptures THE THIRD DAY” :
"the weekly Sabbath Day" "The Lord's Day" for His Resurrection from the dead on it
as per Matthew 28:1,
"WHEN LATE IN THE SABBATH DAY BEING IN THE MID-AFTERNOON DAYLIGHT BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK there was a great earthquake and the angel of the Lord from heaven descending with the brightness of his appearance cast the stone before the tomb away and went and sat on it, while the guard of soldiers fell down like dead UNCONSCIOUS" of anything, blinded, incapable of seeing or hearing or comprehending WHAT "GOD", WAS GETTING AT BY HAVING "RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRI[PTURES"... by first principle of Scripture days being sunset to sunset days --- BOTTOMLINE!

FH11, BOL, ReWired, John MacArthur, says it, THAT BIBLE DAYS ARE SUNSET DAYS (except in Mark 15:42 and Matthew 28:1???). A.T. Robertson and the KJV and ALL English Bibles before the twentieth century say it -- verily in Mark 15:42 and Matthew 28:1 say it--, but I am not allowed to say, the bigotry!?

Well, isn't that what I said?
Then how could you not at first have got at what the Bible says?
Nevertheless, it's wonderful and God be thanked and praised for it.

THEN PROCLAIM IT! Jesus rose the third day The weekly Sabbath Day, the Lord's Day, Sabbath Day of the LORD GOD.

And Sunday is the Antichrist's day of being worshipped -- the inevitable un-silence-able Truth-Opposite of God's Day of being worshipped.

Yeah, I'll just jump to the end of the line here and make it simple because I agree this thread is weird.

What's your point?

Yeah, and I'll just jump to the end of the line here and make it simple because I clearly see you ain't weird but plainly provoke which is your whole point. (Colossians 2:18)

The Church derives its power and authority, vitality and growth, from the Head which is Christ (Colossians 2:10, 1:18), the hope of glory (1:27). The world, haughty in its might and rule of deceit and pretence, seeks to spoil (destroy) the Church (2:8).

The Church is free and its members freemen of Christ; the world is captive of religious verbosity and excessiveness.

The Church celebrates its rest obtained in Christ; the world boasts its own wisdom and will-worship.

The world very religiously revels in self-inflicted misery; the Church celebrates by faith in love, Sabbaths feasting the triumph of God in Christ.

The world is empty, trying to fill the void with pride; the Church with joy and thankfulness receives of the fullness of God in Him.

There is no point then. That's what I thought.
You're Trolling. Thank you for the warning.
Hungry and Trolling for attention. That's sad.
