This is one of my most thing that was bothering me. I read some parts of the bible (KJB) (not mine) as an unsaved. Then my mother last summer (from another state) shewed me that I have an "NIV Kids study bible", then I also have an "NLT bible that I got as a gift from my grandma in the summer, the later I got mine own KJB. I looked and read some, they appear to say the same thing (as unsaved) I repented to Him and wanted Him that badly, my soul, faith, was sadly, was very bothersome.Note: I didn't get myself to Him, some female Christian on the net got Him to me indirectly. She was 14 at that time. Here are some of the things that I have been seeing. And I hope to help all of you.Genesis 3:1(KJB) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?(NIV) Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"(NLT) The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”To me, KJB, Lucifer knows what he is doing, but the others makes it look like he doesn't know or confused.Genesis 3:5(KJB) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.(NIV) "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."(NLT) “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”We can (but not stupid enough) be as gods, but we will never be like God, for God only is holy. (Revelation 15:4)Daniel 3:25(KJB) He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.(NIV) He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."(NLT) “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god! It's clear to me that they don't want Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to be eternal.Micah 5:2(KJB) But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.(NIV) "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."(NLT) But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past.Same as aboveNIV omitted (removed, the whole verse are) Matthew 17:21, 18:11, Mark 9:44,46 (Doctrine of Hell) 11:26, 15:28, Luke 17:36, Acts 8:37. Same thing with the NLT. I can say more, but this is enough for this post.Lovest ye in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

The original language is the word of God if you read the Bilbe withou understanding it you are lost... read the 1st Bible study to see what a difference. I use a KJV and an older Stongs Concordance to get the languages true and clear... I love Hebrew and try to remember asmuch as I can about it.. I also try to learn about the cultures of the time.. in order to get as much true understanding as I can,...ie: the cock that crowed for Peter's denial , was not a chicken but the caller to office for the day..he called out each day in a 3 fold outcry form the top of the temple steps....I love the history of my people too, so it just all great and wonderful...the truth, the amazing God we serve and fun all in one.

I'm well aware that the OT was in Hebrew translated to english. The NT was in Greek translated to english. I may not understand some of that in the first read. I read some of the OT and all of the NT. What is the 1st Bible Study? Strong Cordenance? From my topic, I was speaking of which bible is the Word of God for english speaking people. Like I said a Christian, not even a year yet.

The Bible was first translated fromt he Hebrew, Aramaic and greek texts by King James in the 1600's for the masses... Then in the 1900's a man name James Strong took that translation and used the orignal texts to define every word in its orignal tongue...It has great references also like other times the word is used and lots more... Read the first study on the Real Sin in the Garden you will see the differnce in the words straight out to the translations.. Do that, please,, it'll take 20 mintues and post what you think for me, okay? Thanks for caring about the Word, It is the most precious and holy thing we have, a love letter from our Father....

What do I think of the 1st Bible Study on this forum? I will tell you right now, It is so deep. In fact very deep. I feel that my heart has been hit harder. Although I don't have 'Strong's Cordenance', I say, deep. Thank thee.P.S. I think I may have gotten confused. Don't worry, though, not stupid enough to get angry at someone who has more experienced than me. Again deep.Lovest ye in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

Note: That is ONE of my weaknesses. *sigh*However, I don't necessary agree or disagree. It is just something I look at both ways.KJB (without Strong's Cordenance) obviously sounds like Eve rebelled God by breaking His law by eating out of the tree of the fruit of knowledge between good and evil. With Strong's, it is something to look at, since they use the Hebrew, Aramic and Greek words, and it's difination.

There are three Bible Translations that I highly recommend. I used to be KJV (or KJB, as you put it... I think that you are referring to one and the same) only myself, but because of a verse in Isaiah (pariculary Isaiah 9:3) I became persuaded that the King James Version is not an inspired version, though accurate it is. The three I recommend are: NKJV (my favorite), KJV (excellent translation), NASB (Great for those who are serious about Bible study, as well as the NKJV). Some may also prefer the NIV, though it does not major in the Literal Translation department.

Thank thee for the comment writer4hisglory, but difinately I will have to disagree with thee. Although I am spiritually very young...the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ has showned me what I don't want to know at that time...Here is a little story... When I was unsaved, I read part of the Bible (KJB of course, although it belongs to my stepmother) (before summer of 2006) I only read it just to kill time. Yea, I didn't understand it at all. Now in the summer time (still unsaved) my mother shewed me that I had an NIV kids study bible. (which I have never seen that bible before in my life...) Then my grandparents bought me an NLT (New Living Translation) bible yet still unsaved. which apparently cost like $50 Yea, I did have interest in looking at a god ideas. Or religion Late somewhere in the summer time (I was depressed in my life...due to the past...which seems to be too personal) I asked Christ into my heart to save me from my sins and ask forgiveness...which the bible tells us that He wants everybody to repents from their sins. Even though he came into my heart, I didn't instantly start reading the bible, although I bought myself a KJB for about $5. (clearly the fact that is the first bible I start reading) I ask myself why does God needs multiple bibles?...then I compare the three, and right before my eyes, I was clearly sick (spiritually) for the very first time...in my life...I was very greived. I wanted to believe what I want to believe. But I can't, I say this to myself "Surely God doesn't care what bible you read, you will go to heaven either way." Boy I was wrong, God has proved me wrong...big time. I have to deal the fact that the Devil will constantly deceives people. I had to believe what God says...but I wanted my way...Can't... (there is more on this story I can say...but there is more though. To put it plainly...Is it possible for me to comfortable reading a bible that removes important key words and key verses? Nay.As a truth seeker of what I desire only in my life... Do ye think that I can accept this as a fact that God can be deceived?... according to Psalm 78:36 NASB But they deceived Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue. Nay.And yea, I do know that God has preserved His words cause His words are holy. Psalm 12:6-7.

I will not debate this issue at this time, Thesuperjag. I understand your past, and I myself have come from quite a rocky background, and believed for some time that the KJB was the only version that could be the Word of God. It is a good version. I would be careful to say that one must use this version in order to be saved, as you have stated:
But I can't, I say this to myself "Surely God doesn't care what bible you read, you will go to heaven either way." Boy I was wrong, God has proved me wrong...big time.
It is belief alone, that Jesus is the Son of God, who lived a perfect life without sin, died for us on the cross and rose again from the grave, that saves us, not which version we choose to use. I pray that the Lord will grow you greatly as you walk with Him, brother, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintence.

I'm not elitist or anything so I simply read my Bible regardless if it's on someone's BLACKLIST. If I was an elitist then I suppose I could refuse to read the Bible all together because only the originals were 100% inerrant, and I won't accept anthing less!

I enjoy all versions of the Bible .... and to me it is far more than ink on paper. The Word of God is alive and active (Heb4:12) and can only be received in truth by the working of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26; John 16:13)Jesus is the Living Word (John1) ... the true Word of God dwells with in us and is written on our hearts. This is not to say that right translation is not important ... but that the Spirit of God is not bound by our versions. Without the Spirit of God working within us, any version can be just ink on paper.

I will have to weigh in with the last reply to this thread. It has always surprised me how confused people look when I tell them that the bible is not the primary expression of the Word of God. I then direct the reading towards John 1:1. Jesus is the first and primary expression of the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God in human form and the scriptures, Old and New Testament alike are a reflection of that Word in written form. They are referred to as the Word, but only in a secondary sense, otherwise, the written form would end up being treated as a divine thing and idolatry would be the result. We don't do that do we? Or, do we?Christ plus nothingBrother Bernard

You make lots of sense on this issue. Many a child has been drawn to Christ before they ever picked up a Bible or realized that different versions existed.

In regards to your post, I find intelligence in your language and do believe you will grow more in christ, and interesting story...but I believe brother bernard makes a valid point, as Jhon 1:1 proves that jesus IS the word and with him we can have understanding, so evidently what version we read is (yes, can be misconstrued by their phrase or meaning)- but it is not of importance to compar- as we are all on different levels of understanding his word-but if jesus is the word then to HIM we must seek the truth, "I am the truth and the light and the way of life." so my suggestion is- whatever version ye read, then, as Denver likes to say: pray with him and ask him to guide you- that ye may understand what is truly written..

Can you please explain what you mean by this statement? I'm just curious. I think I may agree, but I'd like to hear more if you don't mind sharing with me.

Hello Brother Bernard,I believe Jesus is the word of God made flesh.John 1:14 (King James Version) 14.And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.Jesus taught that true worshippers would worship God in Spirit and Truth.Following Jesus is about living by his example of love for God and for others. No greater love has a man than he lay down his life for another.Christ laid down his life for the world.Jesus did this in obedience to the will of God. John 3:16. He loved God with all his heart. He teaches us to do the same. to love God and love others as ourselves.Upon his two commandments rest the whole law and teachings of the prophets. He really was the word made flesh.

Gods word is also the two edged swordRev 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouththe Word(made flesh) can save you or condem you.
