Why LOOK, ask in his name..... John 14:14 "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." why are you not asking instead of LOOKING?

"Why look to engineer new grain strains to grow in the desert". again, see above, why LOOK... Philippians 4:19

"Why not learn how to revive the dead" Ecclesiastes 3:1, note the very last part of the scripture, and 1 Thessalonians 4:16, WHY? John 11:25

Why look to cure disease? Why look to engineer new grain strains to grow in the desert. Why not learn how to revive the dead

What is God

Will there be disease, or hunger or death when God is known?
@Faithsong Epehsians 1 and other passages also speaks of God having raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, which makes all the difference, though faith in Him, for eternity.

Did Jesus create the Earth?

Seems a little dubious, being that he came to save it

And so it was, that one day God was sitting and contemplating, just thinking how lonely it was. Here I am He thought, with all these angels around me, but still I am lonely, I just long for someone who will love Me for who I am. I know!, He thought, I will create a new being and call him man, and I will create Him in My image, because I would have it that My children where like me. But unlike the angels that are made of light, I Will make them from dirt, I will create a vessel to carry my light.

And so it was that God made man, And man and God walked together, and talked and man loved God because He knew nothing else. Then God created, a woman for his son so that He would never be alone, but in all this Lucifer, got jealous, He envied man because of where God had put him, and so He rebelled against God, deceived man, and so man fell from Grace. And God knowing what had happened, cast man out of Eden, which He had created for man so that He would never have to work and always be fed, into the world, where He would have to toil for a living and work so that He could be fed.

And man cried out to God, but God because of His holiness could not let man back in. For now man knew sin and darkness, and so it is that this vessel, called man, could carry light or darkness, just as a jar can carry water or wine.

But God knew that man would fall and so He had a plan for mans salvation, but as for satan, no longer did he have Gods love, and so it was with those angels that followed him, and being light now become darkness they became totally separated from God, there being no way for them back to God. And so man toiled for his living, the enemy constantly at him trying to destroy him in any way he could so that Gods plan would not come to fruition, the fallen angels slept with the women and so darkness grew in the world, but God had a man that He could count on and so He separated this man from the world and washed the slate clean, and man had a second chance.

But again, sin and darkness grew, and so God decided that He would create a nation for Himself, and so through His faithful servant Abraham, the Israelites came to being. But the Israelites, wanted a king, God was not enough, for them they wanted a man to tell them what to do. So God gave them a king, and they became burdened with the works of their king, and God gave them rules and laws to live by, and thus showing them that it was impossible for them to be rightness through their works, and their priest and rulers burdened them with new laws and rules, and the burden was heavy, yet man still choose to carry the burden.

Then God sent His Son, Jesus, His word, come in the flesh, living the law to the letter in righteousness, being the only one who ever could and did, and He became the sacrificial lamb, going to His death so that many could live, fulfilling the law so that man would no longer be burdened with it, becoming the true shepherd so that man could have a shepherd to follow, no longer to follow man but Jesus. And so the Jews burdened with the law where set free, and the gentles that had no God, became a part of our Lords flock, never knowing the law, but handed grace.

And so Jesus took His place with God, and sent the Holy Spirit, to teach men and to lead them to righteousness, but as it was in the beginning, man wanted someone over him, not wanting God for himself he desired leaders to show him the way, and so he appointed, shepherds, and prophets, elders and priests, evangelists and pastors, and rulers, and so he again became burdened with rules and regulations, trying to follow the law, but never being given the law, trying to earn his way to heaven and never truly accepting grace.

And Jesus every day, cries out for His bride, to come out of religion, to come away from men, to stop following the letter, to heed His voice, for His spoken word brings life, yet few heed his words, few listen, few follow, and many burdened by the world fall away, and when he enemy brings trials into their lives, they fall away, because there foundation is built upon the sand and not upon the rock which is Jesus.

But Gods plan will happen, it will be completed, no matter what the enemy or man do to try and stop it, God is bigger than them all, Jesus will return, when He does all men will bow to Him, the atheist, the religious, the pious, the rich the poor, the evil the good, for His glory will destroy all the darkness, and many who didn’t believe will believe and some will become bitter and rebel. And so they will choose their master. But now all things will be restored, and man again will walk with God and love Him, having known evil, but loving God for who He is, and not for what He can do. Is there a greater love story then this

In His love

Who is God?

We use the generic term 'God' all the time, but have we stopped to ask ourselves who we believe God really is? What are God's powers, characteristics, and attributes? How do you define the Holy Spirit? A million different people have a million different definitions of God — what's yours?
We have a bible to define God, but the Holy Spirit is well defined here for our part: Galatians 5:22-25

I have a physics theory where I can accurately calculate all the charges, forces and charge radii for the electron, proton and neutron using the Shockley diode equation, and reverse amperages of each other. So that the universe is a giant computer that communicates thru forces. God can command that computer, so perhaps you are correct, he is the software?

Why is the bible such an old book? Did God stop creating and teaching?

No, but He commmisioned teh Apostles to lay the foundation down, They gave us all teh teachings we need to discern Gods will in all situations (either by direct command or by applying rules laid down) So there was no more need to keep writing the bible.

Have you seen the state of the World?

God has never been needed more than now

Yes! He has always been needed. Just remember how bad it must have been in the world when God repented He made man and destroyed all mankind except NOah his wife and the six kids (sons and their wives). He will be coming back on HIs schedule and it seems it may be sooner rather than later.

I accept this however I still wonder who is God.

What did he do before us? or are we it?

If not should we be looking for his other projects both before and after us? I mean he whooped us up in 6 days which would mean 52 more Earths in just a year
The Bible proves that the universe was made for us to ponder and will be destroyed. Earth came first, but the earth and the heavens will pass away and He will replace them with and new earth and new heaven. So it stands to reason, that if there was anyone else out there, their timeline would have to fit into ours, which I see as about 7000 years.

Has it ever occurred to you, that if all the answers were in the bible that there would be no questions, or disease, or hate and war?
There are many questions when you first become a Christian and start studying the Bible. As your your knowledge of the Lord increases, the questions are answers and become few. You begin to realize that only certain things are important, things above, things that are eternal, your salvation and others.
The wages of sin is death. It causes disease, hate and war. But by knowing evil, we appreciate what good is and it really is a temporal state that we must persevere in.

Sin was taken away, a spirits washed, yet it is still in our flesh and in the world. Jesus will return and remove it, well not completely, but locking up Satan and his horde for a 1000 years and ruling as King on earth will greatly reduce it's effects, but then after that, He releases Satan for a short time for the world to be tested once again, then sin will be destroyed forever.

How do you arrive at this strange conclusion? The Bible clearly presents Jesus as BOTH Creator and Redeemer. As well as Judge. There is nothing dubious in the fact that the second person of the Trinity -- the Word or the Son -- is designated as the Creator.

HEBREWS 1: CHRIST AS BOTH GOD AND CREATOR
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God,
even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

As to the title of this thread "Who is God?" is a valid question, but the other two are not. Again, the Bible shows us who is God and we are not left to conjectures.

I really dont know why people just dont ask God, are they afraid they may fond out that he is real and that He actually does speak to His children or is it that many are not really His children.
