Since God knew that apples were not poisonous, and since no one who ate died.

They died spiritually. Satan lied.

Genesis 2:17 ESV
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

However the words above are from God who said that they would die if they ate from the tree. Since God knows everything and can not err, he lied

They did die! Jesus confirms:

"And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead." Matt 8:21-22

Who is to bury the man's father? Dead men! The dead men include every person born of woman in the flesh, who has not received the Life, which Jesus brought:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

Jesus brought Life for all of us dead men so that we might have the choice of living again.

What man calls life, is not what God calls Life!

Not sure if you are trolling OP or serious but you are on the right track by questioning the current dogma regarding this topic.

Did God lie? No.

Did the Serpent lie? Yes.

Here is what I believe... whether you care or not. I will post this for others to see at least.

Adam and Ishshah died completely and totally... as in they became worm food. The Church hides this from the average Christian because it reveals a Great Truth about what happens to the Unsaved.

Because the Church does not want folks to become enlightened, they have come up with a meaningless phrase called 'Spiritual Death' in hopes that the average person is ignorant enough to fall for it. Adam and Eve did not "die spiritually" (whatever that means). They experienced something the Bible calls the Second Death...

Revelation 21:8
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

In fact, the original Hebrew says they will 'die die'... as in they will be Twice Dead.

After they died, the rest of the story is about how Adam and his Wife experienced the Resurrection of the Damned, were judged and ultimately made to pass through the fire.

God then re-created them in the bodies we all have now. The key take-away here is that they were RE-CREATED.

By the way...

This is the so called 'Serpent' that Satan was turned into...

full

Yeah... that's what the Seed of the Serpent is. We are of the Father the Devil. It is literal.

The 'Apple' as you so call it was the Ovum... the Seed of the Woman.

Adam and Ishshah partook of the fertilized Zygote and were incarnated into corrupt Human form.

Christians need to wake up fast and get up to speed on all of this. Time is running out.

@Faithsong He definitely did not lie. He meant spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Scripture teaches explicitly that a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and this is a major key to understanding prophetic matters. The prophecy God made to Adam was fulfilled in Genesis 5:5. He died at the age of 930 years old, in keeping with the prophecy that in the "day" he sinned he would die.
Why did God lie?

Faithsong, you seriously need to quit with the accusations against God. You list as "Christian," but your tongue appears to be continually serving someone else, and you flatly refuse to address any questions regarding whether you actually do have a problem with God or not, which means not only DO you, but you would rather just keep slandering your Creator than step up to the plate like a man and answering the question.

WHAT is your problem, sir? Why do you feel the need to keep blaspheming God with nearly everything you post. This is NOT simple curiosity as one of your previous posts suggested, so stop BSing us and get real. No one criticizes the Lord like this without there being some sort of serious, underlying contempt.

Actually Adam and Eve did not die from eating the fruit, if they had then God would not have been able to kick them out of the garden of eden.

So why did they not die as God told them that they would if they ate of the tree?

Clearly Adam and Eve did not die, because we are here.

A question is posed by one looking to learn, since I am humbled before the great knowledge of the Lord God, I question in order to understand better and serve his grace.

Since Adam and Eve are all of our ancestors, clearly they did not die at the tree childless.

Their death was spiritual death. The same death that all of us are in until we are born again spiritually and come to life in Jesus.

Still looking for an answer as to why Adam and Eve were not perfect, if they were created by an all knowing and loving God

@Faithsong God had a plan and they were part of it. They were perfect until they disobeyed God because they were tempted by Satan. Perhaps you need to go and talk to your pastor or church leader about such basic stuff.

If God is all knowing, then he knew that they were not perfect because he created him that way. We create things that are not perfect, but we are not God and why would a perfect all knowing God create imperfection?

Because Genesis 2:17 has been modified to hid the consequences of the second death.

When Adam ate of the Tree of Knowledge, he immediately became a candidate for the Second Death in the distant future. The question is was Adam forgiven by God and did Adam repent of his sin?

A question is posed by one looking to learn, since I am humbled before the great knowledge of the Lord God, I question in order to understand better and serve his grace.

This is an excellent answer. Just understand, the typical response of someone who is truly wanting to believe in the goodness of God is to take a well-thought out and reasoned answer and receive it, not ignore it and then ask the same question again in a new thread. So it is your responses that are throwing people off, yours truly included.

If this is again questioning the veracity of Genesis 2:17, then you are once again doing the same thing; flatly rejecting the answer to again question the truth of the word of God.

No offense, nor was the "step up like a man" comment intended to offend (only to hopefully finally provoke a response out of you, if possible), but you seem to be stuck in a mindset where no one is going to be getting anywhere with you. So I will leave it at that.

But best of luck.

Jesus asked questions in more than half of the conversations He had. This is similar to God’s first response to the first sinners in history, when He asked four questions of Adam and Eve (Gen. 3:9, 11, 13). Examples:

  • an adulterous woman (John 8:1-11)
  • the scribes (Luke 5:17-26)
  • His mother and brothers (Matt. 12:46-50)
  • the Pharisees (Luke 6:6-11)
When I have all the answers, then and only then will my quest for knowledge end

Christ questioned and I shall follow his lead

Ok, LoL. But you will be hard-pressed to find Chapter and verse for where Jesus accused the Father of lying, being "not very nice," deliberately creating evil, and whole host of other things you've accused Him of, Lol.

I hold no resentments, so don't take me wrong here, but I think you are deliberately antagonizing (i.e trolling) rather than asking genuine questions.
