We have no problem discussing what we believe and why we believe it,we are happpy to answer your questions,We don't even mind a healthy debate. But if you come just to argue about our beliefs,to show us you are right we are wrong please understand you are not the first you have nothing to say we haven't heard before, you are not going to convince us we are wrong for believing in God. So if this is your intent please find another site to make this argument.Intellegence can be a wonderful gift you are right to treasure it. But our belief is all true knowledge comes from God not from men. So the fact you have a high IQ does not mean that is so from our prespective. So don't think that will be a reason that we would agree with your prespectives.you may want to read the thread in the lounge Abomination Abomination to see our last go around with a non-believer to see what I'm talking of.

Hello all, The fundamental background of most religions is the existence of a supernatural being (or a number of them) that were responsible for the ultimate creation of the universe and thus everything we see around us today. The supernatural being, or 'God', is often seen as an explanation for the origin of life and matter. The question I wish to first pose to you, my reader, is who created God? Surely if God is such an intrinsically divine and powerful being he deserves an explaination of creation in himself? I ask for an explaination to God's existence as surely it leads to a never ending regress - a more sophisticated being than God himself must be responsible for his creation, and a more complex being after that... and so it goes on. This hints as to a supernatural creator being an infinitely unsolvable excuse as to the origin of the universe we know, not an explaination.
Why would anyone have to create God? God is, was and always will be. The what came first, the chicken or the egg question does not really hold water. If you are looking for scientific proof of God's existence, then you should look to the things that cannot be proven by science. Now, what do you think created the universe? Do you feel that something went Bang, and somehow over Gajillions of years everything that you can see, is a chance occurrence, from the farthest reaches of the galaxy, down to the way that there are billions of cells in your brain that work together in millions of different ways. Are you looking for Proof as to the reliability of the Bible? Do you believe that the Iliad is reliable? It pales in comparison to the accuracy, and the number of historically sound documentation that have been uncovered. And, that is the second most reliable book in History. Instead of coming to a Believers forum looking for proof as to the NON existence of God, try to find the proof yourself. I know for a fact that since I have accepted Jesus, I have been Blessed in so many obvious ways that it has only led me to further deepen my faith. Because when it really comes down to it, anything is really only believable by faith. The scientific method does not work on History.

The problem with attempting to understand our faith and beliefs is that it can not be approached strictly from an intellectual point view to understand faith in its whole concept you have to see it from both intellect and emotion i.e the whole human being. So if you want to attempt comprehension you have to be willing to step outside your intellectual comfort zone. Can I get agreement that as a history book the Bible has proven to be quite a reliable source. If you agree to this I would ask if you went to a stock broker and the advise he gave you on stocks was 100% accurate for 2000 years would you question his accuracy? This is what the Bible does with prophecy. For example well over 300 prophecies written about Christ some 1000 years before hand came to pass exactly as predicted. So if the word of God has been proven as history, proven as prophecy, Who is the fool that assumes the rest is fantasy the believer or the non-believer?Or put another way if in talking to your squirrel you came to understand that his secrets of gathering food saved you from starvation. Would you care how many people called you crazy?

Well then go out and do some research on it already. Now if you were to go out and talk to fairies and squirrels, and so could over 200 million others, then you would not go to an asylum. And if you believe in God, then petty things like Virgin Births really is a no brainer. I have read alot of supporting evidence on the matter, the references are scatter throughout history, both in religious texts, and in non religious texts, there is Israel, who have lived for thousands of years with the Old Testament. Jesus is supported by Josephus, he mentions him in his two books about twenty years after the death of Jesus. Pilate, who sent him to the cross, has been found to have been in charge during the time of Jesus death. The historical documentation found in the Bible has been found to be reliable time and time again. You also have to realize, these apostles, the disciples, they were martyred for this cause. They were brutally murdered for this belief, can you imagine that if there were any doubt that they would not have confessed? Even at the last second, even if only one of them? I really cannot see how you can really expect anything here?To answer your original question, who created God? I don't believe that anyone did. For that you have to believe in God, and if you do, then the question is answered in the Bible, he is, was and always will be. It also says that his ways are higher than our ways. How can we possibly understand him, he is our maker, we cannot even understand us. And if we could not understand him, then how would we ever understand His maker. I don't believe that he has a maker though, not really for any reason, other than that there is really no reason to believe that there is. Good luck on your quest.

To be truthfully honest with thee. Lord God was not created, he existed everlasting, so in short, he is the Creator.

YHVH (YHWH and with vowels Yahweh) This is the Hebrew of His name, translates roughly to "He that will be, will be" or sometimes, as I like to go with it, "I am that I Am." Both translations get at the same thing. As the NT, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He was, is, and will be. He never wasn't. As someone has already said, if you try to approach this from an "academic" or "intellectual" manner, you'll quickly get into trouble. It doesn't take a postulation to believe in God; franky either you do [believe] or you do not.

mrewanThe only answer I can you is faith, read the following and maybe you can understand. There's nothing else I can do or say that can convince you,so again faith,is my first and last answer.Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."Without that title deed [faith] it is impossible to please God. If you do not believe what God has written in His Word, why would God bless you? You would be calling God a liar. To receive the rewards that God has promised in His Word, you have to diligently, or sincerely seek after God. You have to have fixed in your mind that every part and every verse of God's Word is true, even though you don't understand part of it. However what you do understand, you follow in detail. God is telling you that without "faith" in Jesus Christ there is no way to please God. None whatsoever. Even though you are unable to see Him, you have to be able to believe that God exists, and that His Word is true. God created everything, yet today the so called scholarly world treats God as though He just doesn't exist. Put this thought in your mind, say when you went home to your family that you provided for, and your family treated you as if you didn't exist. They wouldn't talk to you, answer you, and used your name as a curse. Would you try to bless them for their treatment of you? of course not. Well God doesn't like it either. "FAITH AND BELIEF"Throughout your life, you have no doubt heard: "Just have faith and believe." But what does that mean? Believe in what? What if you are not sure if you believe or not? I mean, you want to do the right thing, you want to be a "good guy," and you may have even tried to think about believing in God and Jesus, but with all the false churches and religious weirdos around nowadays you were turned off. I can't say that I blame some people for having trouble with their faith, what with all the lies and contradictions we see among the so-called religious institutions of this day. It was satan's plan from the beginning to dilute the truth with an onslaught of lies and heresies till it gets to the point where a person who is newly exposed to Christianity doesn't know what to believe in anymore. It should greatly upset true Christians (righteous indignation) when they see the false and greedy teachers/preachers perverting God's Word for their own benefit. And when I say "true Christians," I don't' mean the phony apostates that are so prevalent now. The reason a true Christian should be upset at them is because that through their lies, false promises, false teachings, and the misrepresentation of God's Word they cause people to turn away from God and cause them to not believe that He even exists. When the lies of the false teachers/preachers fail to come to pass, the people blame God. But God never told them that he would stand behind the empty promises of the rip-off artists that have inundated God's ministries.Perhaps right about now you are saying to yourself: "If this author is trying to get me to believe in God and God's written Word, The Bible, he sure is going about it in a strange way." That would only be true if I believed that man saves man. However I know that it is only God who does the saving, no man has any power or effect over that except that God will it. You would not even be reading this if it weren't God's will that you somehow ended up in front of this particular Bible study. And maybe this Bible study won't do you any good, but maybe it will. God knows. It is my desire that you who perhaps don't believe, would read the facts contained in this study and be caused to begin to search more truth out in God's scriptures, but I realize that our Heavenly Father calls whom He will when He will. And I refuse to candy coat the truth for anyone, I will not lie about my Heavenly Fathers Word. And if I error on any particular point, then I pray His forgiveness, for when one teaches God's Word he becomes responsible for what he says, especially what he says to a beginning Bible student. On judgement day, God begins the judging at those who teach His Word. In other words, it is an awesome responsibility that unfortunately many take oh-so lightly. God doesn't take misleading His precious children lightly! It is prophesied in the Bible that in the end times, of which we are in now, there would be a famine in all the nations and kingdoms (the world) [Mt 24:7, Mk 13:8, Lk21:4], and that famine would not be for a lack of bread and water (food), but that it would be for hearing the true Word of God [Amos 8:11]. Has this not come to pass? I mean, sure, there are a lot of people in this end generation that claim to be coming back to God; but the famine is for hearing the TRUE Word of God, not for hearing empty words about God, there is plenty of that to go around. These days when you tune into television and cable access channels you see a plethora of "religious" programs, but what do the greatest majority have in common? They are empty words by empty people. They are either what is called "prosperity ministries," or they are what amounts to nothing more than a infomercial for some large denomination, and then of course you have the "off the wall" nuts talking in circles. None of these are teaching the True Word of God. There are some good ones mixed in, but they are far and few between. "The "prosperity preachers" teach that if you believe in God and Jesus, then God will reward you financially. They encourage you to "plant seeds of faith" ie: send them money, and God will give you more money in return. They have many catch phrases and even twist scripture to fit their "message." They are thieves and liars, and their followers are greedy and insincere phonies trying to con God. They are not in a Church or Ministry of God, and they most certainly aren't conning God, it is they that are being defrauded by their false teachers/preachers, and they end up losing what little money they did have. Good for them, they deserve no better than poverty for trying to use God and Jesus as a get rich quick scheme. Like Jesus said: "They have their reward." And I assure you, it's not the reward that they have in mind. So where then can one find God's True Word? It is within God's written Word, The Bible. Your Heavenly Father assured that you would have the operating instructions of your soul (The Bible), and that it would be complete and faithful. Of course you must believe the promises and instruction within the Written Word in order to receive them. This present Bible study will endeavor to document the authenticity of God's Written Word and to assure you that the promises of God contained within it, are a promise from your Creator Almighty God directly to you, if you will only but believe. You can read the rest here[url="http://biblestudysite.com/belief.htm]http://biblestudysite.com/belief.htm[/url]Weather you choose to believe or not,do no that one day you will stand before God.I don't need an explanation, but you will have a chance to explain it to Him.

motive ??? since childhood the love of YAHWEH and YAHSHUA has been in my heart. As far as I am concerned The Bible says it all . We can see today just how badly man runs this earth. You can't blame Christianity for it because almost no one is a Christian today.

The question you post really has to do with time. We believe in a God that knows the future. He knows it because He is outside of it. We believe that time is a human construction - beginning, middle and end. That's how God can tell us the future and so clearly relay the past while interacting with us in the present. So, our idea of their being an A to B mentality of time does not apply to God because He is outside of it and created it. When we say that God has always been, it's because what we consider to be the start of time does not apply to Him. That is why we believe that no one created God. On the point of the war by the way, it may not be just because of our beliefs in Christ or because some of us voted for Bush that we think it okay to go to war. Sometimes war needs to be entered into because certain people need to be stopped. We (the USA) helped to fuel the middle east conflicts and are responsable to make it right. That's why I think we need to stay there. Not because Bush told me so, but because I believe that we need to step up and try to make things right. When you look at the history of wars, this one has shed very few lives in comparrison. They get more press than before and the opposers of war can tout them more powerfully than before. Sometimes evil needs to be struck down. Hitler/Pol Pot and on and on.

Hi OP, I wanted to give this to you to have before you - consider it a gift - nothing that you have to do but receive in the kindness of your heart. ~Peace to you friend, Connie John 3:1-83:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.KJV
