John 14 vs 21 and 30.

Jesus Christ says

"Whoever accepts my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. My Father will love whoever loves me; I too will love him and reveal myself to him."

Is it the ten commandments that Jesus Christ is talking about?

Also, Verse 30

Jesus Christ said,

I cannot talk with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the father; that is why I do everything as he commands me. " come, let us go from this place.

Who is the ruler of this world that is coming?

Hello judd

You asked.....
“Is it the ten commandments that Jesus Christ is talking about?”
No, it isn’t; It’s talking about the instructions that the Lord Gives New Testament Saints.

John 14:21
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

--------------------------------------------------
Now some might ask, what “commandments” can only Christians receive(“hath”)?

Well a lot of those “instructions” come from God’s Word and the Bible teaches that only those who are saved, will be able to “understand”, what the Bible says, therefore will have these commandments......
1 Corinthians 2:9-14
V.9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
V.10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
V.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
V.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
V.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
V.14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

Therefore, the unsaved don’t really receive any commandments or instructions from God, except “to trust Christ as their savior”!

It means obeying how He leads us; He will lead us according to how He means all the commandments. The way Jesus has us keeping all the commandments is going to be different and better than we would! (c:

And there are His personal directions, for each of us.

I think of how Jesus says, "'A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.'" (John 13:34) There is always finding out how this will be.

Thank You

Hello Judd, i think in a way it was the ten commandments ,because the new testament rests on love , love fulfills the law ,if we love our neighbor we fulfill the ten commandments ,if we love one another we also fulfill the law , love does it all , the lord said, be holy even as i am holy , how can we be holy ,? even here i believe love apply , for as God is love, so should we attain to that love ,and when God can see that same love in us, that is his , we are holy

1Co 13:4 Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn't jealous. It doesn't sing its own praises. It isn't arrogant.
1Co 13:5 It isn't rude. It doesn't think about itself. It isn't irritable. It doesn't keep track of wrongs.
1Co 13:6 It isn't happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth.
1Co 13:7 Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.
1Co 13:8 Love never comes to an end.

No, Jesus didn't come along and re-issue the 10 commandments, he commanded to repent,
believe in him, get baptised and be born again (receive His Life), which he first needed to lay down at Calvary.
The disciples received it at Pentecost (Acts 2:4, 33), the same is to be received today (v39; 10:44-48, 1 Cor. 12:13).

This is how you "receive Jesus" in the true sense, not the words-only religious sense.

"I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him:
but ye know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." (John 14:16-20)

Who is the ruler of this world that is coming?
Satan, who inspired Jesus' murderers.

"And the Lord God said unto the serpent ... I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel"
(a prophecy of crucifiction).

The ways of God are beyond my thoughts. According to what you wrote, Gen 3 : 15, It's painful. We are all living with the curse and at the end we will be judged. The word of God is so true and must come to pass if He wishes. Same is with the curse we are living with.

O loving God, You have cursed the things you created. Who can stop Your word O God? Judgement awaits what You have cursed O God.

Gen 3 : 14

So the Lord God said to the serpent, " Because you have done this,

Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals!

you will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

Read that and try and understand.

Was God talking to the devil or the serpent? Or in this case, does the serpent refers to the devil?

O loving God, You have cursed the things you created. Who can stop Your word O God? Judgement awaits what You have cursed O God.
I offer that Jesus on the cross has canceled all curses. But He did this sweetly, "an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma," we have in Ephesians 5:2. By becoming sweet like Jesus, sweetly pleasing to our Father (1 Peter 3:4), we join Jesus in this freedom from the effects of all curses (John 8:36). Our old person of sin can be effected, along with Satan, by the curses; but in the Holy Spirit's obedience we are where those curses can not effect us. But there may be physical effects that Satan might keep promoting, but these are not God cursing us. And Paul had that "thorn in the flesh" "messenger of Satan" messing with Paul. But Jesus said to Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." (in 2 Corinthians 12:9) And then was when Paul testified how he took "pleasure" in his troubles (2 Corinthians 12:10). So, in God's grace we are blessed: we are no longer in the kingdom of Satan's spirit; and so we are immune to however God has cursed whomever or whatever.

A curse is not necessarily bad, by the way, because God is just declaring what is unfit for human habitation, like a good and honest building inspector; and He is setting up curses to keep Satan from having his way as much as evil would if it were not for God's curses holding evil in His control. We with Jesus are obeying freely, and so there is no need for curses to keep us in control, because we are willingly obeying how God would control us in His peace, as every Christian is basically commanded: "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) This is a blessing, not a curse!!!

So, we bless you, in the name of Jesus Christ; we do not curse you. Be blessed to obey how God wants to now bless us.

And you asked, "Was God talking to the devil or the serpent? Or in this case, does the serpent refers to the devil?"

"It could have been a serpent, but also it could have been a 'telescopic' spiritual prophesy which also applied to Satan." John, in Revelation 12:9, speaks of "that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole wold". So, ones can understand this to be a helper scripture for interpreting the serpent in the garden to be the Devil. But I notice how it says Satan "deceives the whole world". It does not say he deceives the whole church of Jesus Christ; we are not in that cursed kingdom.

So, then . . . God bless you ! ! !
