I have always thought that the name of the Father was YHWH or Yahweh and the name of the Son was Jesus or yahsua I now believe I was wrong and want to know your thought." John 1:18 18No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. ." I John 4:1212No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 1 Tim. 6:16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.If no man has seen God then who was it in these passages Genesis 3230 So Jacob called the place Peniel, [a] saying, "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."Judges13 22 "We are doomed to die!" he said to his wife. "We have seen God!" and there was also Adam and Abraham How is this possible since scripture says no one has seen God. I believe it was YHWH the Son. He has now been reveled to us in the new testament, with YHWH the holy spiritZech 12 :10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit [a] of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. When was Yahweh pierced? I think it is possible to say It was Yahweh the SonIf we believe in one God then the name of God must be the name of the Father, Son and Holy spirit and that name is YHWH Also it makes sense then, why we don't see this name used in the new testament and why we use the name Father and Son

John, the best way to understand these verses is to go back to the Greek, which I will let you do on your own time. The sense here is that no man (in the flesh) has seen God in all of His glory. Jacob wrestled with what was called a man in Genesis 32. Judges 13 is only an angel of the Lord as was the case of Abraham. Our flesh bodies, in all of our corruption, cannot see nor comprehend God in all of his glory. He has appeared in various forms where these men could comprehend him, but we have yet to see him in his fully glory. That will only happen after we are caught up at the final trump. The piercing was of course speaking about Christ. John 19:37 and it is also linked to Matthew 24:30. Revelation 1:7 echoes it as well. Yeshua means "YHVH's savior."

Forgive my ignorance, but who has appeared in various forms, the Father or the SonMy question is, does YHWH=the name of the father only or the name of the God head, Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Have you ever wondered about the line John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am."It has a sort of hint of the words in Exodus 3:14 to it.

This is the problem that we run into when we try to understand the nature of God, which the names of God play a part into. John 8:58, as you have mentioned B'midbar, is an excellant example. Here Christ is not just claiming to have existed before Abraham, but rather that He is the very I AM that was mentioned to Moses. Christ was claiming diety, and in fact, the very diety of the YWH of the old testament. Colossians 1:16-18 states that Christ created all things, and that all things were created for Him and are sustained by Him. John 1:1-3 speaks of Christ and God as one, and again, that He is creator. God is one God in three persons. They are all the YWH of the Old Testament, the Son, however, is not made clear before the New Testament, however.

Faithful ...the time that Abraham came and gave tithe to Melchezadek was the time when Christ was speaking of....Christ is Melchezadek... and had lived on the earth as High Priest during the time of Abraham... after the covenant was given... he left to return born of woman... and savior dying for the sins of all...
