Gal 4:28, Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal 4:29, But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

I would say that it is those who attack others on forums like these who are really the bearers of bad fruit.

Mat 7:15, Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16, Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17, Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18, A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19, Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20, Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Notice that I did not say that I necessarily think that anyone is persecuting me; only that if anyone is and think that the OP might apply to them, it is because they are born after the flesh and are bearing bad fruit in their persecution of me.

Persecution can be defined as the attempt to hinder the ministry of a person by an attack on their character or doctrine when that doctrine is sound.

(For if doctrine is false, it must needs be exposed as false and to expose it as such is not persecution for righteousness' sake.)

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

¹¹ Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
¹² Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

You are blessed...
Rejoice in your trials and tribulations which works patience in us.

I am indeed blessed (for mine is the kingdom of heaven and great is my reward in heaven); however I still hurt for those people who will not be able to receive the truth and be saved because of accusations that have been leveled against my doctrine.

As many others have as well...instead of defending your doctrine (written by man) simply defend the Truth.
The Bible says do not follow the doctrines of man....all denominations doctrines were written by man.

However, some denominational doctrines are based on God's holy word....it is only when a denominational doctrine is not scriptural that we are to reject it.

Most Christian denomination doctrines are based on God's Word....it's the ad libs of their belief that makes it man's doctrines....
Ex: Pentecostal Holiness- woman are not allowed to wear makeup, cut their hair, wear pants..etc...
Church of Christ- musical instruments are not allowed
Catholic- must go to confession to the priest.
See what I mean?

In the scripture it is clear who is being persecuted and who is the persecutor, who is right according to the Word of God and who is not!

But here on the internet as with life in general, it is not clear to some who believe they have the truth and do not!

God knows who they are, and God will protect them and give them the Words to say to prove it!

Proverbs 1:23

"Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you."

Yes, and I believe that the holy scriptures substantiate my point of view on everything.

Because I make it my aim to get all of my doctrine from the word of the Lord and to not bring my own ideas into any of what I preach.

As it is written,

2Ti 2:15, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

That's a bold statement!!! One that I will not make, for surly someone will prove me to be wrong in scripture when I take that attitude.

Of course! If I am proven wrong I will change my point of view.

But I believe that I have studied long and hard to believe according to the Bible so that what I preach may be only sound doctrine that comes from the Bible in the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.

I suppose that there is always the possibility that I could be wrong on any matter; but that possibility only exists where I am ignorant of the scripture that refutes my position on any subject. And I have taken the time to read the whole of the Bible so that I am not ignorant of any scripture concerning subjects that I deem important.

Therefore I think that I could only be mistaken on subjects that I have deemed to be unimportant.

God has promised that if we turn from what we know is wrong, He will pour out His Holy Spirit and make His Word known to us.

The knowledge He gives to that person is HIS, not ours! Be careful that pride does not take the day!

We are to humble ourselves before the Lord in all things, the knowledge He gives us of His Word is not be taken in vain, but for the benefit of His Kingdom.

James 4:10
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."

He will not lift up pride on our part!

Amen.

I will always be open to correction from the word if the person correcting me has the word on their side; and if the word shows that I am in error, I will receive that correction from that person and the word of the holy scriptures.

But if the person does not have the word on their side but is only setting forth an opinion, I do not perceive such a thing as biblical correction.

Your fruit does indeed indicate that you have diligently sought out the truth of Scripture. While you & I disagree on some points of Scripture, I am in full agreement with you on much of what you teach. Keep pressing in, because the night is quickly approaching. Don't let Satan hinder you.
