As I was just talking about in another thread sometimes I do believe that he does. I sort of picture my walk with the Lord to be like a little toddler learning how to run. They might stumble and fall sometimes but then they continue right on running and I recently stumbled and fell because Satan asks me really tough questions sometimes that I honestly don't know how to answer. My heart knows that it wants Jesus and loves Jesus but Satan was just asking me that if people were going to constantly judge me why don't I just give up my Christianity when he can give me the ultimate freedom and power?

That definitely sounded like Satan to me and other than the fact that I love the Lord and I want to go to Heaven to be united with Him and reunited with my other loved ones I don't know why I'm a Christian. Do I have to have another reason of why I'm abandoning doing everything that I really want to do just to try and please the Lord? As funny as it sounds,.. sometimes I feel like Troy Bolton from High School Musical.

and the ones used are are the least suspecting they are being used.

Cause Christians today know how to party.

Be assured A_R....That which is seen as 'party' is a trap.....it sings Satans praises though voicing that which seems opposite. Being seduced by it reinforces the grip of the evil one.

Satan does use people, just remember Judas. However, you are probably just being harassed by a demon and not Satan himself. He is the head of the fallen angels and does not get invovled in the small folk like us.

Sounds like you are walking through a valley of the shadow of death. Just fear no evil and remember that the enemy will throw doubts and tough questions at us, as well as our own human nature.

Satan can tempt people, but he does not know what people are going to do the way God does. Therefore, people let themselves be used by Satan rather than Satan using them. What Satan knows is that he has greater chances of using people who do not know the Lord, as in the case of Judas. So my question to you is, “What do you know about those people who are judging you? Do you know anything about their relationship with the Lord?” Because while the Word of God says not to judge those outside of the body of Christ, in 1 Corinthians it talks about believers judging those within the body of Christ. (Of course, in 2 Corinthians it talks about forgiving as well, but the point is that not all judgment is to be rejected.) Consider carefully who and what is saying to you, and ultimately, it is up to you to stay close to the Lord.

To the answer those questions (even though I'm guessing that they were supposed to be rhetorical) I don't really know anything about people's relationship with the Lord but my own and that's alright because that's the only one that truly matters anyways.

Either God tests us or Satan uses people to test us or both. Whenever old friends associated with drugs, alcohol etc from my pre-Christian days call me out of the blue I’m suspect. But God always gives us a way out which is awesome.

Also somebody else (forgot who) brought up another interesting point. Is possession real and what exactly does it mean?

satan has used every single one of us at one time .
Remember what paul said . We were all under the influence of satan , BEFORE Being translated into the Kingdom of Christ .
Most folks see satan as someone who uses folks to murder or kill , ONLY
But i tell us all , if we are followers of the flesh , He is the one whom we are heeding . Ponder on that one .
Satan allures , THROUGH the flesh . He can only tempt the flesh .
He allures through the lusts of the flesh , of the eyes , of the pride of life . Yeah . So lets not heed The flesh .
HEED JESUS , HEED the SPIRIT . By faith we can resist him . Let none be the servant of the flesh .
Follow the SPIRIT and ye shall not fullfill the lusts of the flesh . And if any errs , rebuke them quickly
and confess those faults . And if we see any brethren err from the truth , know that the one who converts
the sinner from the error of his ways , he has saved a soul from death . James wrote that one .
We must keep our eyes glued on the biblical Lord Jesus and noses in bibles. The return of Jesus is now very close.

I was actually just thinking about that today but I forgot to say something about it. If Jesus Himself was tempted then I'm definitely not alone when I become tempted. The only problem is that I don't always like what I become when somebody starts pushing my buttons. :(
Jesus was not tempted at all. it was the Devil trying it on him. no where is it that Jesus took anything on board, but only exposed the Devil for who this titch truly is in fact. The Devil is truly just a piss ant and a great tempter that due to original Sin that the bastard has any influence on people.

Temptations as to one who starts pushing your buttons ? well I have learned not bother with them, just last week at a Party for my brother his next door was their proud atheists both and they were talking to me and my aunty was just to the side listing on who is stanch RC goes to church everyday and they were bagging religion, I did not bite at all, I led by example as I knew where they are at. nothing surprises me at my age. they just do not know what they were talking about over all. I am sure that my brother would of at one time pointed out to them that I was a Christian for sure.

You know that not all who bag Christianity are totally stupid but for they only do not understand the facts, now how do we go about dealing with such, well patience is a virtue for a start. if they are interested have a ear to listen that's one thing and if they don't forget about them. remember the casting pearls story ? don't worry I have done that before, I have been bitten to the point that I know better now. I never give up on anyone but deal with such from another angle. to catch fish there is an art form to it and I don't mind getting nibbles.

April, I am glad that you are overcoming satan, the adversary, I have been overcoming them in rebuke for 15 years since the time I needed deliverance, you're doing a good job standing so I wanted to offer encouragement.

As for posession, that is when an evil spirit or spirits take control of someones body, that can only happen to unbelievers, so no need for anyone born again to worry about.

Shalom!

Yes Satan uses physical people to make you fall into one of his deadly trap. One example of this is Adam and Eve. Although, Eve did not because she wanted Adam to fall in the trap, she was the reason why Adam ate the forbidden fruit. Satan knew that if he himself told Adam go eat of the forbidden fruit, Adam would not listen.

Satan uses physical people in the world to set traps for other people. Satan works very hard to deceive everyone, but many times he concentrates on a select few which are easier to be deceived. These types of easy targets are usually the most ignorant of the truth found in God’s word
