Hmmm let me see, the last time I checked...

Messiah ate with tax collectors and sinners, touched lepers, casted out demons...not the people..

...in fact, the only ones He strongly rebuked were the Pharisees who had all their man made walls up to keep them from the unclean ....

There's nothing any sheep should be afraid of...greater is He than is in us than he that is in the world...see...
So you acknowledge the words were unclean. But we shouldn't be concerned? I disagree.

If anyone who is involved with the occult wants to come here and chat with Christians, they must leave that garbage out of it.

And darkpsalmist is welcome to try again to give a testamony, if it is more about Christ and not the demonic.

I agree, and a new member coming in with such adversity in his beliefs and understanding of scripture should be addressed with caution.

It's rare for me to actually have an attack, but this is also the first time I've been attacked by someone else's stuff and not by own stuff.

I also know from experience with channeling, that wasn't poetry. It wasn't about art. It looks like poetry because the person is being puffed up and they're basically getting a big rush from dramatizing experiences and want to prove to everyone that they are, basically, some kind of earth angel or Christ-sent superhero on a mission. Some made sense and is agreeable but other parts didn't make sense because that person is probably experiencing some form of psychosis.

This kind of demonic oppression will make you a proud spiritual narcissist - boasting in yourself and not of Christ, thinking you have the power to overcome Satan and all of the demons because you believe YOU are the "light", and they've probably worked out enough spiritual experiences to trick the person into putting themselves under attack daily, because they think it's their "job." (Hence the mentioning summoning Satan himself part in order to attack and defeat him.)

So the reason I fell under attack is probably because I recognized it and saw the familiarities from having been there myself from converting from witch to Christian. That's something God spent years taking me out of.

One verse stuck out to me at that time: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

That's what pulled me out of it. Hope Dark Psalmist gets a chance to read this part, because understanding of what is actually happening could be a good awakening.

No, not really...

I received it as a bit of poetry actually.

I wonder how many would have taken the book of Revelation the wrong way, before they deemed it canonical.

I mean, how many still do take it in interesting ways... I've had forebodings and dreams and "bad trips" to do with Revelation...

anyone who is involved with the occult

Well...I'll tell you whhhaat...

I don't know whether or not that person was/is involved with the occult as you mean it, but one thing is for sure, anybody who deals in the "supernatural" may be considered occultic. Christianity has a long and respected element of mysticism.

Not to mention, most of the stuff in popular culture (much of which is t.v., movies, and music) is tied in with the occult)...which had to do with my point about people paying millions to make movies that have the same effect that that CB member's words had on you...and, by extension, think about all the money and/or time people here spend on consuming such material.

By the way I'm not trying to be insensitive. I'm sorry that you (especially @FluffyYellowDuck) experienced negativity around it. I'm just looking at it from the new user's perspective...maybe it was a cry for help...or a desire to fit in somewhere...

true indeed...well said.

Gods true people know the Voice of the Shepherd....and we also recognize that ‘voice of the stranger....’ that we do not follow.

@FluffyYellowDuck obviously had Gods alarm going off in her , at the “strange fire” which it is.. ....while another fell for it!
She knew it was ‘out of space ‘ and not out from Father God.

hope you are doing well @Nancy ....missing the ‘old days on here ‘ ....hugs ...H

Hi Helen, yes I too miss the old days, still missing @Rollo! He's done with us as his name didn't even come up :(

I miss you on here too Helen, things have changed allot. Although, we do have a few really nice ones that joined...ebb and flow! Hope you are feeling well.
xoxo

Well I am asking you guys to step up and create a thread that is wholesome and uplifting.
The only ones posting, with the exception of a few, are those who create threads on topics that are controversial and do not bring anything edifying to the forum. We need to take over and be the ones carrying the message of hope to the forum.

I am taking a little time in worship and if I think of anything, I'll share.. In the meantime, I was working on practicing some chords to "Shout to the Lord" and for some reason I stopped looking at the hymnal, distracted myself and spent a minute or two practicing two chords on the lyre back and forth for a minute. Then I looked back down and my hymnal was opened up to Amazing Grace like this. No way it could have happened even with a slight breeze, there's at least a 40 something page difference.

I had thought multiple times to play it but I had kept making up multiple excuses in my head not to. God is always paying attention! Hope that is a little bit uplifting :)

You read music?!

Nice, I'm beginning irl music classes on Friday. YouTube has been a great primer for me though.

I'll be doing music theory, piano, and midi controllers and associated music production equipment!

Yah bless!

So, what are the Xs and Os (I think that's what I see) in your note book...sharps and flats?

And how do you count the beats?

Good morning btw!

Oh I just found out that there are lyres with sharps and flats, but they're usually custom made and not really commercially manufactured. So, if you have one that's cool!

Hmmm, so maybe those symbols are beats and rests.. ?

Oh this is fun... guessing...!

I agree , not you, but me...you have seen me try and start threads over the years ...mine go for about 8 posts. And stop. LOL

It seems members don’t want good godly biblical threads , they get their fun out of the controversial arguing threads .

Plus a thread which is God inspired will be a good enduring thread with the God-seekers and serious ones ( which we seem to have less of these days )
But putting up a thread ‘ for the sake of it” ....doesn’t seem to work, or get picked up on .

You start , I’ll follow you Nancy ha ha!
Have a good one...x

I don't know anything about all that - I just worship! LOL Did do a little bit of music theory but not too much.

But the O's are for open strings and the X is for blocked. You place your fingers lightly on the back of the X strings and then you can strum for the chord. Those chords were for a 6-string lyre but I found after messing around with my 10-string and a little tuning it works alright by moving up two strings and strumming the next six.

Good eye btw that's a small index card :D

I see that this thread was started in the Testimony forum ...hmmmm a testimony to whom !! Not God for sure .
I guess we need to pray that whoever the member is someone with truth speaking into their life .

but on the other hand , maybe the clue is in the avatar name used...THE DARK Psalmist!
The nature is in the name....
Yes, I always pay attention to screen names. This one was an immediate giveaway. By his screen name, I could tell he was either oppressed, depressed, or steeped in the occult (or all of the above).
