In another thread, a poster remarked how Jesus in Scripture is not always lovable, kind or meek. Our feminized society has profoundly attacked masculinity - even calling it toxic.

A pastor once gave a Sermon and said Jesus is the ultimate in masculine in that he sacrificed himself to save others. Then he corrected himself to say the God, the Father is the ultimate in masculinity for creating life. And here again, I want to contrast the ultimate manifestation of masculine - creating life - in how it is denigrated by today's man-haters. They call it merely being a 'sperm donor.'

A friend corrected his pregnant wife who said women give life. He said, 'No. Women give birth. Men give life.' So, this thread is to remind us all that God the Father, and his son and the Holy Spirit are identified as being masculine. And in particular, I want to bring to the surface the masculine side of Jesus with these 2 verses and hope you can provide others.

It will go well with that servant if he is found doing his job when his master comes ... But if that servant <does not do his job> ... his master will cut him in two and put him with the disloyal.
Luke 12:43, 45, 46 (CJB)

This is serious business we’re involved in. My mission is to send a purging fire on the earth! In fact, I can hardly wait to see the smoke rising.

never considered it this way. Thanks. Could it be women give birth to the life given of men? No...that doesn’t sound right when it is God who gives life and without Him there is no Life. Just thinking ....

Peter walked on water. Jesus criticized him for having too little faith - for not walking MORE on water.

sometimes I have a critical spirit. Do you think a critical spirit is of God?

Of course! The OT is filled with God's wrath for prolonged disobedience. But your question is besides the point of this thread, the masculine side of Jesus. Do you think it is not feminine to criticize?

Then Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.

Mark 11:15
When they arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.

John 2:15
So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

To those selling doves He said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father's house into a marketplace!"

Does God demonstrate a critical spirit in the scriptures?

I used to hear it as critical always. But that was my perspective being of the spirit of the world. God was angry and hated women...what is masculine? Is masculine protector of the weak, provider of the weak, strength, companion, brother, father, overseer, builder, teacher, authority and power? When they asked Jesus if they should call down fire and destroy them ..He told them they knew not what spirit they were of. Why?

Why do humans have this need to reduce God to labels??

LOL. Our feminized man-hating society wants to pretend there is no difference between masculine and feminine, except to claim masculinity is inherently toxic. You don't find that labeling?

The masculine called things by their proper name. He gave life and light. He gave His only begotten Son to the world He so loved. Who loved? Masculine.

How did he love? Not emotionally but sacrificially. How did he love? Not to be served but to serve. Who served but was not served? Masculine.

Contrast this to today's feminists who demand equal benefits without equal service due to their 'inherent' virtue.
Said differently, if there was equality, quotas would be demanded, not in board rooms, but in coal mines, oil rigs, prisons, building sky scrapers (& roads & bridges) and early death.

God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

The issue of women's lack of respect of both men and women is a whole different topic...
You will not find me to be a sympathizer of women's claim to WANT equality...
These women do not only hate men... they hate women... God ordained men and women to have roles... rebelling against those roles has caused havoc on EVERYTHING.

Hebrews 12:7-10 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. [9] Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? [10] For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

So he made (fashioned) a whip out of cords and drove them out sheep and cattle...and overturned the tables ...cleaning out His House which you are built up a habitation for. Isaiah 53:5-9 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. [7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. [8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [9] And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

1 Peter 2:24-25 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. [25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
