What I observed before I was permanently banned was that the admins became more supportive of Evolution and the RCC (where my comments attracted the most flak from the staff), and were appeasing Muslims as part of the "community of faith" and I guess that anyone commenting that Islam is a false religion worshiping another god would be reported and banned. So, being banned from that forum was no real loss for me.

Community of faith???? What's the name of that site again??? ROFL

Yep they are going under the all inclusive spell . I see this going viral in many places . Some are farther ahead
in this delusion but many are catching up to it . We must never stray from the one true gospel .
You are saved by grace through Faith in the glorious LORD JESUS . That alone is Truth .

I would not take what this paul christensen feller has to say as one with very much "expertise" on the subject. Or, on anything concerning what being "born from above" is like.
(quote)
"But I don't pray in tongues during church services. I don't belong to a Pentecostal church where they do speak in tongues. I belong to a little Methodist/Presbyterian church with six elderly ladies and one gentleman. Tongues is totally unknown to them.

I do all my praying in tongues privately when I am alone with the Lord; and because He understands what I am saying, He doesn't need an interpreter. Neither do I, because I am not praying to myself but to the Lord.

So your comments are pretty well irrelevant to my use of tongues in prayer."

So, I wouldn't waste a whole lot of time nor effort in arguments, as it seems he doesn't know what we're talking about. Perhaps, it's just a little too much for him to bare? I dunno!
Yet, it's seems alright by him, if everyone else does. As he certainly does not speak out against Babbling/s in Church with no one interpreting.
I imagine, in fact I know you are praising God, and that is wonderful, praise the Lord.

Now when Jesus said, "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst," could it be that the Holy Spirit is speaking to us, his people, giving words of comfort, joy and prophesy?

We to Him, and He to us. A beautiful two-way conversation between us at home and God in heaven, and through an interpreter God speaking back to us, in his house of worship.

We fight a mighty war in the unseen realm (spiritual) against very powerful and so oft times vastly underrated enemies of Lord God Almighty and His Christ, Jesus of Nazareth.

We can see all across the globe, that which Our Heavenly Father is making ready before sending/allowing His Only Begotten in returning to earth at the close of this present earth and heaven age here:
Psalm 110:
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
We can tell by the speed governments are being exposed as the false protectors and representatives they have become! As they proclaim "Piece/s!....PIECE/S!!....For PEACE!" As they huddle themselves together planning on the next PIECES they can wrest from a gaslighted populace, oh so willing to render unto Caesar that which does not belong to Caesar!
Matthew 24:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I dunno if I am an elect or not!
I do know I'll not be deceived!

the tongues spoke today (angel/spirit/prayer language) dont seem to serve a purpose. its used to talk to the Most High? but we already know how to talk to the Most High, you can say "i love you" in every language known to man, in the end it means the same no matter what language, saying i love you in a "special" language does not change the message. the Father understands our prayers just fine.

the idea that the prayer language covers things that we might have missed is a bit absurd. it makes the Lord look like one of those mischievous genies in the bottle, you wish for the money but dog gone it you lose it all to taxes and the genie says "you didnt specify tax haha". i think the Most High is a bit more just and compassionate than that. i mean does anyone really think we say our prayers at night, go to sleep, and then a loved one dies in a car wreck, the Lord saw the whole thing but ignores it because we didnt specify to look over that particular person. this whole point is mute anyway when Jesus teaches the Lord knows our heart/mind before we even ask. the Lord knows what we need, you need faith that He will provide and He will do the rest.

Because we don't understand or see no reason for some things God has done and is doing, does that make them absurd?

And do we all then know all of the purposes of God? Does God never do things which we cannot personally understand? Consider the questions some sincere people have asked elsewhere and on this forum which are repeatedly asked by someone, someone who does not serve God and/or someone who does.

Why man?
Why men and women?
Why evil?
Why sin?
Why death?

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

And who is it that decides how God will work with or speak to or listen to a man whose heart is with God?

"Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further." Job 40:4-5

"Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not." Isaiah 6:5-9

"Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." John 8:28

"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word." John 8:43

"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:" I Cor 12:7-10

"For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." I Cor 14:2

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." I Cor 13:1-2

I know. I was being sarcastic. So Muslims are Christians now?
Well, the Pope reckons we all worship the same God. I reckon that his hidden motive is that all roads must eventually lead to Rome! :)
I can't say for sure that the staff at ChristianForums.com are taking the attitude that Muslims worship the same God as we do, but they have a rule prohibiting the putting down of any religion and will act on any reports from Muslims as well as RCs against anyone who posts that they are false religions that puts people on the road to hell. In the last six months I was with that forum, I was seeing increasing posts by Muslim members (yes, Muslims are accepted into membership along with all others).

It used to be that anyone who goes on a RCC forum and runs down that church will get reported and that is fair enough because it is a protected forum for RCs. But now, RCs will report anyone who even goes on an open theology forum or even the P/C forum who posts that the RCC is a fraud, and the staff will support the report and take action against the person who posts.

It is characteristic of RCs and Muslims to suppress free speech about their religions.

I went off the site for a long time because when I gave proof of a group being a cult they defended it and I was warned. I was not nasty, I simply gave biblical proof.

My site had a large discussion when it was created 20 years ago. But since then more and more sites were obsessed with membership over truth. So membership shrunk but I still get thousands of readings per month.

if it repeats I will leave again. I have more than enough to keep me busy.

Lol, I was banned from here for a month because I posted that Joel chapter 2 was fulfilled at Pentecost.

truth....... I perceive that it’s all a cult.

By the way, welcome back I’d wondered what happened with you.

When Peter preached to the crowd on the Day of Pentecost, he certainly announced the fulfillment of Joel 2:28-29. There is no doubt about that.

But I cannot see how the rest of the chapter is fulfilled in this day. You might have to provide evidence to show why you believe that.

I’m trying to keep a low profile, to prevent being made a reprobate....... again.

though, you are correct I posted the chapter was fulfilled that day. I should have given the verses you quoted, which I assumed would have been obvious to most Christians.
Interestingly Peter didn’t find it necessary to list verses or chapters.

any who, thanks a lot for being so kind as to bring this to my attention.

On the Day of Pentecost before they were Christians there were devout Jews visiting Jerusalem from all over for the feasts. I agree they were not Pharisees, members of a Jewish sect, distinguished by strict observance of both the traditional and written law, and commonly held to have pretensions to superior sanctity. Those present were humble Jews, and devoted to God in their hearts. Seeing as they already belonged to God, I believe this is why the Holy Spirit used the gift of interpretation of tongues to draw them to the true identity of their Messiah.

Why do people see different things when they read something that is not there that is written in black and white?

Couldn't they read and understand that on the day of Pentecost there were at least 15 different nations that were represented and that each nation heard Peter's sermon in their own tongue? (pardon the pun).

Why I pray tell would they do that? This is once again the reason why Christians get a bad name from nonbelievers saying we do not know the things of God and that is the reason why there are so many different congregations in Christendom.

Study my friends and read the words carefully before you open your mouths!

What! Peter preached to the crowd in tongues???? Oh, come on! You must be scraping the bottom of the barrel for answers if you are trying that on. The group speaking in tongues were not preaching to anyone. They were speaking of the mighty acts of God. Peter preached to them in straight Aramaic which was the common language of those people. Hebrew was the language for educated people. It was quite obvious that the crowd did not see Peter as educated. They described the group as "uneducated Galileans. How you manage to read into it that Peter preached to the crowd in tongues is way beyond me! Good grief! Talk about making the Bible say what you want it to say!!!

Except Paul wrote that there are diversities of tongues, meaning more than just one type.

There is an unknown tongue that no one ever understands, and also an unknown tongue spoken in church that is interpreted, because it’s a message from God to the congregation.

1Co 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
