20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. - Matthew 7:20.

Do you know how to tell if a person is Christian? By the fruit they produce-or is it. You have to back up and look at scripture and ask yourself? If the fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of Christ-Spirit of Christ, Which it is. Scripture establishes that fact by the scripture. If scripture establishes that fact how can I know you are a christian by simply inspecting your fruit. Watching your reactions, watching how you handle others, the way you conduct your life. Stay with me a minute.

If you producing fruit (note 'you producing' is a misnomer) is a way to check out your salvation' and to check out if you are one of us (finger quotes). How is it possible for another person to judge anyone other than themselves by the fruit they produce.

Now I want to claim 'I' as in us, in my lazy thinking (being polite) had rather look at you and your mess and not look at scripture and me and my mess. So I want to make the nod that if fruit was the credentials of salvation as some suppose-then there is probably about 3 people in here alone that is saved haha, and I'm not one of them. Being a little facetious but if you ever read along and follow some of the battle's (which I get) none of us are saved. Just by my thinking alone I would not be a Christian and you cannot act like you are any different because we are all the same. We are all made of the same stuff.

Our father has no super children, some maybe better looking but not any better :). Some may be better off but not any better, but we judge different, I know I do in my stinking thinking. We are quite the peculiar bunch as scripture says (it doesn't lie). I hope you can let your hair down today and enjoy what our father has done-doing in all lives. I just wanted to try to lighten and brighten your day with a somewhat humorous thread. You be blessed as you are. And remember the fruit that comes out of you "is Christ" alive in you as you as your only life for living.

Hi Soulman!
Ah the fruit!! What can throw me there, is someone who is NOT a Christian yet, still has, love, joy, gentleness, self control, etc. But soon enough, they will be known as either coming from Him or depending on their own "goodness".

Last Church I went to (second to last) had some pretty rotten fruit and, you could feel the coldness and squinted eyes at the "new girl" who just walked in alone. ONE and ONLY one person introduced himself to me, a kind older man came up to me and introduced himself...that was it. And, it never changed all the time I was there, unless someone was looking for money for a pack of cigarettes or something  Or, a ride somewhere, other than that...I was no use to them.
It's all rolled off my back now, thank GOD! Not going there anymore.
God Bless bro and, as usual...good post :)

Do you think that's what happens in church fellowships that are too introspective?

God has shown me that just as there are so many different sorts of fruit bearing plants in nature so also in the spiritual world there are many varieties of fruit.

In the natural world some fruit is large and showy, like melons and pineapples, whilst other fruits are so small that they are almost unnoticeable. On the moors round the town where I live there are vast areas of wimberry or bilberry bushes which grow and bear their fruit so close to the ground that it is invisible unless you go looking for it.

Lots of Christians manifest obvious ‘fruit’ but there are also those whose fruit is of equal value but less obvious.

Sorry Pearl, not quite catching your meaning here. Unless you mean a congregation with "eyes on self"?

Exactly that - inward looking / social gathering.

Well,
There were definitely cliques, for sure! And, if one did not "fit in", they were ignored...blatantly! That was the only church like that that I attended, thank God!!!

Hello Miss Nancy. That is such a bad feeling. We want to be accepted or feel the fruit so bad and when it doesn't happen at times it hurts, is the best way to say it. I think most of us have probably had it both ways. Makes you wonder how being kind or loving or peaceful doesn't happen more often. It seems to be the simplest thing about christianity-don't be mean or cruel or not accepting to someone in that situation. I know it blows me away sometimes and I try to keep it in perspective at the same time also. We all have the tendencies to act out at times but we should have some control over it. Self control is a fruit of the Spirit. Hang in there don't punch anyone :).

Yes it could be. If you focus on you, not understanding you or who you are or not knowing who you are. I feel the old man syndrome (basically area's of the mind that hasn't been renewed), I call it sometime, will haunt a person and they can react however they react-maybe good maybe not so good. But sadness self-pity and all that good stuff we deal with can cause trouble for a person because they will get or be introspective. We can have those days or months or whatever but a difference is in what people understand and their knowledge of Christ and how they respond. When a believer knows their life is Christ they want to live different, you do not have to lay laws down or force them it's their pleasure, desires change. What I have noticed through the year's is when my desires have changed I have crossed paths with others that have similar desires concerning the things of the Lord.

Ahaha, no brother, I would never, ever punch anyone :D Thanks for the lift! I do understand that the bible say's that the love of many shall wax cold because of the growing sinfulness but, you are so right...it is the easiest thing for me to be kind to people, always open and willing to get to know my brothers and sisters...you would think it would be the easiest thing to do. Oh well, Jesus say's that we are His even when we don't "fit in" :)

there is only one way you can know a child of God. His love will be in your heart through the operation on the Holy Spirit. John wrote of a person says they love God and has hatred in their heart for others the love of God is not in Him. It’s ok to hate the sinnful ways of a person but to hate them is not of God. God knows that if that sinful person loved him he wouldn’t act the way they do.
