Just calling oneself Christian does not make it so.
The Bible defines a Christian as the name given by the Greeks or Romans, probably in reproach, to the followers of Jesus. It was first used at Antioch. The names by which the disciples were known among themselves were "brethren," "the faithful," "elect," "saints," "believers." But as distinguishing them from the multitude without, the name "Christian" came into use, and was universally accepted. This name occurs but three times in the New Testament ( Acts 11:26 ; 26:28 ; 1 Peter 4:16 ).
The secular world expands the definition to any group that calls itself Christian and is the main definition used in the world today.
A group that is devout to their doctrines and holy books that are contradictory to the Bible are called cults. But even on many forums it is a taboo to call such a group a cult.
The Bible warns us in these last days this would be a reality.
What say you?
