Is the millennial kingdom a real kingdom on earth for a real 1000 yrs?

If so how?

because it ends after a 1000 yrs right?

that would contradict scripture!

Lk 1:33

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

You know, the more I learn, the less I’m inclined to be dogmatic on certain issues. Like this one, for instance.
I don’t believe the 1000 to be referring to a literal time, simply because of the book its within and how numbers are primarily used in that book. But as to how Christ will choose to display his Kingdom and reign once he returns? I’m not sure it’s entirely within our power to grasp. We argue, we ponder, and we each take our stances based on scripture. And it’s entirely possible that one ‘school’ of thought may be correct and all others wrong. But I cannot help but remember how, when Jesus came the first time, despite all the biblical references that seemingly pointed to everything he did ‘clearly’, he confounded everyone. Back then they had conflicting verses speaking of a suffering servant and a conquering King. Now we have those pointing to passages that seem to speak of the Kingdom being now, but we also have others arguing for texts that seem to show a time that is ‘better’ than what we have now, but still not eternity.
I’m not done wrestling with these things, I don’t believe we ought to, just because they are difficult. I had thought I was done, but now...not so sure, and not willing to be dogmatic.

Let me answer your question. Just like the Jews believed when their messiah would come he would set up an earthly kingdom. They even asked Christ when the kingdom would come. They were looking for a literal kingdom. Christ told them the kingdom does not come through observation but the kingdom was within us. The kingdom is the body of believers in Christ. It is the Church. When Christ returns, he returns with his Church which is the kingdom. He does rule the nations with the saints for a thousand years. At the end of the thousand years the end will come and judgment will be set. And when that is over and we go to the new Heaven and earth Christ will give them kingdom to the Father. Submitting himself unto the Father so that it is only God that is worshipped. Paul explains this very well in a letter written unto the Corinthians.
As for it being an everlasting kingdom it is. It is the church. The Lord took Abraham into a high mountain and showed him a land and in that land was a great city whose builder and maker was God. The Lord told Abraham the unto him he would give him and his seed this land and great city as an everlasting possession. Paul also explains the seed to be Christ. Abraham not having understood what he had been told didn’t realize what he had been shown was a heavenly country. So Abraham travel throughout the area his entire life looking for it. Even today the Jews proclaim an earthly land and city. Abraham did not travel in the promised land but only in the land where he received the promise. The Lord also told Abraham that he would come into possession of the land and city as an everlasting possession. We know that this Heaven and earth will be utterly destroyed. Read what is written in Corinthians and also Hebrews. Naomi25 always remember this. Once you have received Christ as your savor you no longer have to depend on man to give you understanding. If you will ask the Lord for understanding he will give it to you.

The millennial kingdom is for 1000 years, it is a time when messiah rules with a rod of iron and Satan is bound for 1000 years

at the end of the thousand years, Satan is released, another rebellion is created as people follow Satan, that rebellion is crushed, this heaven and earth is destroyed, and a new heaven and earth is created in its place. With new jerusalem

We should not question why God does things, we should just take him at his word and when he says it will come, believe it

Hello Randy,

And do you not think God reigns now?

Peace be with you!

Christ is risen!
Alleluia!
As I look at the world and see the chaos, sin and deplorable situation, and see how bad it is and co to use to be

do I think Jesus rules with a rod of iron and Satan is bound? Not for a second, if this is Jesus ruling then Jesus is not a very good ruler he must have lost his rod of iron

The Millennial Kingdom is viewed by Premillennialists, like myself, as the 1st 1000 years of God's eternal Kingdom. I certainly don't understand everything there is to know about this Kingdom, probably because it doesn't concern us very much.

We are to be concerned with how we live today, and with the circumstances we are in today. It's enough to know that God will fulfill His promises to Abraham, to have the nation Israel, and many other nations, who will be "Christian nations."

And for this to happen we must know that the Evil One has been working to prevent this, and will be bound during this time. It is preliminary to eternity because this Kingdom will consist of mortals on earth, just as we have today, with glorified Christians ruling over them, probably from heaven as the angels do right now.

We rule in the sense that we judge fallen angels as having no rights on the earth, over which we've been given dominion. Not only fallen angels, but rebellious men are judged by glorified Christians, and kept from stirring up an international coalition against God's mortal people on earth.

then it’s not a 1000 yrs kingdom

A real 1,000 years? Yes.

How? By Gods Power.

Contradict scripture? How so?

Lk 1:32-33
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

This does not show a contradiction of a 1,000 year reign.

The 1,000 years....ENDS Jesus "reign OVER MORTAL MEN"....Jesus' "reign OVER Converted men, (IMMORTAL), shall continue For Ever.

What is the New Jerusalem then?

The New Jerusalem is A holy city, without corruption, and seat of Government, of a holy king (the Lord), where His holy Throne is Established.

Did you not READ?
His Kingdom has NO ENDING.
The occupants who are MOTALS on Earth, have an ENDING after 1,000 years.
