    WWJD with LGBTQ?

--- PARODY --- The Welcome Wagon Christian neighbor: Welcome to the neighbor. I brought you a plate of cookies. New neighbor: Thank you, that's very kind. Christian neighbor: We noticed while you were moving in that you wear rainbow T-Shirts and such. New neighbor: Uh... yes, I suppose we...

The Character of God - Reader Poll

If that's what we call a person's POV now, okay. Your view is truth and view is spin? Spin makes the world go 'round. (unless you are a flat-earther) The context of that statement is about the gentiles being grafted in. God was kind to us gentiles and severe with Israel. On the contrary...

The Character of God - Reader Poll

Very impassioned post. Quite impressive actually. Well done. And I know that wasn't your aim. Just sayin' ... Is this what God wants? A church that has nothing to offer but... ... fear and misery. The awful truth. Oppressive wrathful presence. Depressing reality. Is there a bright side to...

The Character of God - Reader Poll

My Pastor talked about this today. The series is titled: Being comfortable with [un]comfortable. /

The Character of God - Reader Poll

Thanks for joining the discussion! Can you define God's justice for us? How does it compare to human justice? How was the cross of Christ just? /

The Character of God - Reader Poll

That's an interesting point. How should God be described? (in your view) Right. The questions is a bit of a tall order. I was hoping for a succinct description of the indescribable. - LOL Perhaps, my real issue has to do with how we describe the justice of God. That seems to be the sticking...

    WWJD with LGBTQ?

St. SteVen said: This is a very strange concept which begs some questions. 1) Where do we buy the truth? 2) How do we know it is truth? 3) If it's okay to buy, why is it NOT okay to sell? If "buy" means "agree", what does "not sell" mean? /

Didn't Jesus come to give us abundant life? (John 10:10) BTW: I like your post in general. I'm not familiar with that. Could you provide the scripture? Thanks. /

Agree. What a sad state of affairs. /

    WWJD with LGBTQ?

The church tends to grade sins (plural) on a scale. Making some sins (plural) worse than others. I think God views sin (singular) as a PASS/FAIL thing. We all have failed. Who could possibly be saved (not lost souls) in your quoted view above? /

Dysfunction in the family of God. Wow. I wonder how God feels about that. ??? /

The Character of God - Reader Poll

I worked on disciplining my own children in a way we could both feel good about. This was to correct the "mistakes" I had made earlier on. For which I apologized to them. Kids are actually very forgiving. (or can be) No guarantees, I suppose. Kids enjoy all sorts of privileges that can be...

The Character of God - Reader Poll

Yes, possibly. Disappointment works better. IMHO To me, anger communicates that the child is inherently bad and needs the devil beat out of them. Whereas disappointment communicates that the child is inherently good and has failed in their poor behavior. /

Really? Who was Leviticus 18 and 20 written to? Pagans? No... It was the Israelites that needed this correction before going into the Promised Land. /

How to get baptized? In the UK

Hopefully you have already found a church to be baptized. I was on a missions trip in the late 70s and was affiliated with the Brethren Church. This may be a helpful link. Christian Brethren Church near me in Yorkshire, United Kingdom | GOS thru YOR /

    WWJD with LGBTQ?

Great post, thanks! Well said! Exactly. Understanding where the Bible came from helps us to BETTER understand WHAT it means! Agree. We can't just sweep these things aside as if they don't exist. We need to grapple with them. The church has given us a smoke screen that covers these things up. /

Maybe that's why they call flood, tornado, or hurricane damage an act of God? - LOL /

That being the case, what is godly behavior? Are we sinful to act as God acts? /
