Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

She was NOT Israelite so she was not under the law of Moses.

Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to DEATH

Every person who wishes to serve God has to learn from the Law that he gave to Moses what the principles involved are... to apply them in their life. Although we do not avoid them because they are part of a Law, we avoid them because they are things that displease God. That is the difference...

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

So, we are saying what the Bible says. :vgood:

Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to DEATH

We cannot confuse the statutes of a nation's law with the principles involved. The decrees of the Law of Moses and related sentences are no longer in force. That is easily understandable when you take into account that this law was given to a nation or people who then occupied an entire country...

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

She was considered righteous for her faith, as she trusted in the power of Jehovah and protected his servants while she was still a cananean woman. When she later joined Israel she had to learn the principles of the law and apply them in her life. She even became an earthly ancestor of Jesus...

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

Jesus only had/has divinity being a spirit in heavens which does not mean that it is GOD. In heaven no creature that exists in spirit form considers Jesus as their GOD. Rev. 5:9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, for you were slaughtered...

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

Being GOD is not belonging to a race or a family, like having a family last name ... nor it is an essence. GOD is a position and Deity is what belongs exclusively to GOD, as his unique qualities as Creator. "Divinity" is the spirit nature... power over others is related to it.

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

Jesus implied that lying was a practice invented by the Devil. He said to the Pharisees: John 8:44 You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When...

Is Lying a Violation of the Ten Commandments? - No. - Well, maybe... ???

This info about what a LIE is may be useful: LIE: The opposite of truth. Lying generally involves saying something false to a person who is entitled to know the truth and doing so with the intent to deceive or to injure him or another person. A lie need not always be verbal. It can also be...

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

When Paul tells the Philippians that Jesus "was in the form of God" HE IS NOT TELLING THEM that Jesus was God. Obviously they are two very different expressions. Jesus was a spirit next to God, so his nature was spiritual like God's. It is in that sense that Jesus had the form of God. Having...

    Is Jesus God

If Jesus and his followers taught that he is the Son of God, it is because GOD is the Father of Jesus, not Jesus... The same applies to the titles "high priest of God", "Christ of God", "servant of God", etc... Same as the expressions "God raised him up", "God was with him ", "God sent him"...

Why did Jesus not say explicitly that he was God in the Gospels?

Those are speculations of someone who believes that Jesus is God. Evidently, he never said it, neither as a man nor after being resurrected. What is the OBVIOUS answer to why he didn't say it? Because he is not GOD. If we are going to invent why Jesus did not say anything that someone has...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Awesome demonstration that Jesus is not the Almighty God!!!! I am very glad that others, and not only we JWs, recognize the truth out of the Scriptures and can clearly prove it.

There is no one righteous, not even one. Really?

No one can consider themselves righteous because the assessment criteria about righteousness belongs to God himself. Actually, since Adam and Eve sinned all their descendants lack the necessary qualities not to fail in absolutely anything, so it is impossible to even believe that we ourselves...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

That's not what the Scriptures teach, since in Job 14:4-7 there were "sons of God" when the planet was being created. Job 38:4 Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you think you understand. 5 Who set its measurements, in case you know, Or who stretched a measuring line across...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Ancient Israel and the Christian congregation have a different relationship with God. For example: While the Israelites were under the law of Moses, Christians no longer have to comply with the detailed requirements of the law with its legal consequences. Those were a nation that was assigned a...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Well, I'll answer that before disconecting to take a break: You think that "Jesus is occupying a role only God can occupy" and that makes it difficult to you to reconcile those verses that say Jesus has a God. Remember: you THINK that. Why you think those roles are God's? Just because you...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Psal. 83:18 May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Did Jesus claim to be God?

I understand you, but you haven't realized that you have chosen one side: that of the people who say that it doesn't matter what you believe about the identity of God and Jesus. It's a wrong side, but for some reason the biblical information I'm sharing with you isn't of much use to you...

Did Jesus claim to be God?

I hear you. Listen what the Scriptures say: Heb. 5:5 So, too, the Christ did not glorify himself by becoming a high priest, but was glorified by the One who said to him: “You are my son; today I have become your father.” 6 As he also says in another place, “You are a priest forever in the...
