What does the Christian need to do when they have sinned?

I haven't a clue what this has to do with my post. Did you understand it? All I know is it is suppose to be some kind of ugly slur. Feel better???

What does the Christian need to do when they have sinned?

I don't find it takes a lot of work. In fact, it is harder to sin than it is to be righteous. When you go against your new nature, your conscience would be sounding a huge alarm. But obeying your conscience is peaceful silence. There is no struggle at all to just be righteous. And the assurance...

What does the Christian need to do when they have sinned?

T, my friend, when Paul uses "flesh" he is speaking of our nature. Those who are born again of the Spirit partake of the divine nature of God. 2 Peter 1:2-4. In Romans 8:9 how are we not in our body when in the Spirit? No, we are not in the carnal nature when the Spirit of God indwells us.

What does the Christian need to do when they have sinned?

LOL You did it again! I recognize those verses from Romans 7, but go further a couple verses into the next chapter to find that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ has freed me from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2. So, T, The Spirit has freed Paul from the verses you quoted, which is...

What does the Christian need to do when they have sinned?

Hey T, you took 1 John 1:8 out of context. Try it with the next verse TOGETHER. I like Good News For Modern Man. Maybe it will help you see what the author means. Verse 9 is how to become a Christian, like Acts 2:38, therefore verse 8 is before Christ. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we...

It also means returning the money to the bank you robbed. LOL

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Let me explain something further. There are two types of sin. 1 John 5:16-17. One makes you an unsaved sinner. The other a saved child of God can commit, but we are instructed to forgive others for that same type of sin against us. Sins unto death = willful sins of lawlessness (1 John 3:4) Sins...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

No, God gives me the overwhelming desire to be like Jesus. Jesus was sinless, and was the firstborn of many brethren. I'm so sorry if I gave you any impression that God was a tyrant. Don't you know it is for our own good to do righteousness, than to fornicate and end up pregnant or with an STD...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Ron, the verse in Hebrews is like people being saved, it is not progressive. It is becoming a Christian, as opposed to a nonbeliever. Being sinless is not being perfect. But Jesus gives us all the seeds of the fruit of the Spirit to grow. But those seeds must mature, and that process is called...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Right. But another verse that I have discovered in other parts like Acts 2:38 is that it is rendered dead because of receiving the Holy Spirit that makes us born again. This goes along with 1 John 1:9, so that would be the initial event of becoming born again, and is not like what is taught of...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

I'm very surprised and hurt to receive this tone of post from you. I thought we were on the same page. It is not "trickery" but historical truth that Hebrew writers use Semitic writing styles. But if you want to believe that Jesus is a liar and did not take away our sin as He claimed, then maybe...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Why are there all the warnings in the epistles if it doesn't matter what we do???

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Should I call Jesus a liar and that the truth does not set me free? Read John 8:32-34. Are you saying I am still a slave to sin? Slaves are not headed for the Father's house for eternity. So make up your mind. Sinner? Or free from sin? Which does Jesus make us?

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

I saw it, and so did my roommate. We were the only ones present. I appreciate your politeness (for the most part, if not complete). Thank you.

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Then say what you mean. You said instead, "The difference is the blood of Jesus has been applied to my account and to the unbeliever it has not been! The very righteousness that is Jesus has been imputed to my account." Applied means covers, not taken away. What does sanctified mean to you and...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

It is all through the gospels. Matthew 10: (and Mark 13:13) 22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. Mathew 24: 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow...
