    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

To me we seem to be presented with two options, either eternal life or no eternal life (ie, perish/be destroyed like the beasts of the earth). But that second death is eternal in the sense that there is no coming back from it, how I'm looking at it. Dead animals and criminals were cast onto...

    2 Powers in Heaven

I have no idea.....wouldn't mind hearing from others about this. At first glance it seems that to take either of those verses out you might have to also take out another verse that goes along with each. But I myself don't know anything about these things. (And even if they were added, it...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Amen. As if we could annihilate our self anyhow. Only God can (literally I think) annihilate the self in hell, as Jesus said to fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell (Gehenna....lake of fire).

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

What I mean by old self is the old man. But the new man is created after the image of Christ. We are a new creature and old things (old man and his ways) are passed away ie, we are renewed by the Spirit of Christ within. I take all this as being a manner of speaking...human language...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

You go ahead and post the grammar if you think it would be helpful. I think Hepzibah will be able to follow it.....as for me I will take in what I can and just leave what I can't. Would it be accurate to say that our old self must die so that we live from a renewed self, as it were? That...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

As long as that is not taken in a literal sense, because we sure do need that foundation to be building upon it. But in a sense as to not be camping out there sitting on our laurels, but keep growing from there and reaching for what lies ahead. I agree...it is just a manner of speaking, but it...

Yes, one foundation, which consists of a few things. :)

    2 Powers in Heaven

ok, that was news to me. Had to look that up.....added first by Erasmus apparently? Do you know if this is something generally accepted by Christian bible scholars now, or is it still being debated? (Agree with your second comment to a point, but think that deeper revelatory things should not...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Which baptismS are foundational for the believer? I'm rejoicing and thanking God for just now, as I was writing and pondering, giving me that verse which clears up my fogginess and clinches this for me.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

No, I'm talking about potentially three baptisms, but the first two are part of the same initial package when we come to faith (pictured by the Red Sea crossing). That might even have been all that the apostle had in mind when he wrote one faith, one baptism. Because there is no wilderness of...

    2 Powers in Heaven

This is a hard thing to understand and I'm not sure it is something we should argue about for that reason. So I don't want to argue but just point out this verse (and maybe you've taken it into account, I don't know): 1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Coming back to this for a sec. Just in case it helps. It might help God'sGrace to understand where I;m coming from too because I dont' have the stamina right now to go back over everything again. So yes, as there are two crossings of water here as you said...... here we see two baptisms being...

    Seven Lens, Concerning Fulfillment.

I agree nobody should be trying to control others or "exercise authority upon them" with fleshly authority..........but not to be passive and just "let it be", no. We are in a war and need to be engaged in fighting the good fight of faith, each one according to the measure of grace and gifting...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Just sharing some thoughts here - subject to more illumination and confirmation (or correction), I am tentatively seeing water baptism leading to an initial spirit baptism as being all part and parcel of the small beginnings. All belongs to crossing the Red Sea. I've known many including...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I don't know if you read my posts about that in this thread. The Lord opened my eyes to a principle of first the natural, then the spiritual.

    Seven Lens, Concerning Fulfillment.

Oh dear, no. This is not the example we see in scripture. What we see in the bible is lives laid down and given to enormous efforts obey Jesus' command to go rescue lost sheep. We see rebuke, and correction and warnings given. We see the word of God being raised as a banner against...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I have to go out so don't have time to reply to everything right now........I don't know if I'm misunderstanding but are you denying the foundation of faith in Christ here? It's as though some people who believe in a "higher walk" or "theosis" despise the day of small beginnings when those...

The world has been “made right” in front of God.

What does it mean to perish? That is the opposite of eternal life and immortality. I think it means this, where Jesus said we are to fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in hell......."hell" being the lake of fire in the end, where those outside the kingdom are cast...? Death....the...
