    Was Mary sinless?

Yes. Good thing nobody around here is doing that!

    Christ's Instructions

How many such Church ladies ever become Bible experts? The repression regime that Paul espouses militates against that. And as you say, inept husbands are a poor source of instruction. (My wife is a Bible expert, but she sure didn't get that way by asking me anything!)

    Christ's Instructions

But it is a gender issue. I agree that women and men are both competent enough and both intelligent enough to teach, including to teach men. As for "seniority," Paul's extracting this "seniority" notion from Adam's earlier formation is illogical. Why in the world should that matter? If she's...

    Was Mary sinless?

I don't think it's me, although I have trouble seeing how Mary's having conjugal relations with Joseph after the birth of Jesus could ever be a "sin," so it would not scandalize me to learn that Jesus had younger siblings. I don't know that he did or didn't. Bible references on the question...

    Was Mary sinless?

Well, at least we're both Trinitarians, both accept the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and both think "this rock" in Matt. 16:18 was a reference to Peter. (And I'm not Catholic!) Better to dwell on points of agreement, wouldn't you say?

    Was Mary sinless?

That is true. I doubt you and I will agree on which this is.

    Was Mary sinless?

OK, nice to see this podcast. Thanks for sharing. I'm not quite sold, though. That Gen 3:15's "enmity" between Mary and Satan could not be possible if Mary had been conceived with original sin just strikes me as a stretch. That Rev. 12:1-6 references Mary as the Arc of the New Covenant seems...

    Was Mary sinless?

I don't read Luke 1:28 to establish that Mary didn't sin once in her whole life. That's not a necessary interpretation of kecharitomene.

Who is this God that calls Himself US and OUR?

I think "proves" is the wrong word. "Supports" would be more apt.

Who is this God that calls Himself US and OUR?

I also believe it cannot be proven through Scripture. (If it could, it wouldn't be the "Mystery" that the Catholic Church claims it to be, CCC 234, CCC 237.) I enjoy the debates over Scriptural support on this and other forums, but the debate on this forum is now banned. You can message me if...

Who is this God that calls Himself US and OUR?

I'm a Trinitarian, Jack. I'm simply suggesting discussion here to understand and resolve the Scriptural tension -- which I guess you don't see. Because there is only One God. As a mode of Himself? As an image of Himself? As a subordinate to Himself? There is a lot to unpack here. And I...

Who is this God that calls Himself US and OUR?

There is tension between Heb. 1:8 and Heb. 1:9 that needs to be resolved. Explaining how the Son can both BE God (v. 8) and HAVE a God (v.9) is worthy of discussion.

Why supporting convicted felon Trump is unchristian

Good synopsis, @Spyder. You seem to have a decent handle on this. Now, would you please explain to @Wrangler that until the Trump team actually files its appeal document after the July sentencing, listing the issues it wants reviewed, all of these appealable issues are speculative? He has...

Why supporting convicted felon Trump is unchristian

From the Trump team? I haven't. Nobody has. That decision won't be made and published until the Trump team has to, in August. It's basic strategy not to give you opponent a heads up before you have to.

Why supporting convicted felon Trump is unchristian

About what? I said the Trump team hasn't yet listed their appealable issues (they haven't) and won't until August (they won't). How is that fooling myself?

Why supporting convicted felon Trump is unchristian

I haven't decided anything on this matter, and won't until I see the evidence -- if you can adduce some.

Why supporting convicted felon Trump is unchristian

The Trump team won't publish their list of appealable issues until August. We can speculate. Some are obvious, like incorrect jury instructions. But evidentiary rulings to be challenged on appeal? We will have to wait and see.
