The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

I don't think there's a perfect church out there. But if you have an alternative you know about, Id sincerely like to hear about it.

    Late night thread 2

There's no one to nag you about your nutrition so I won't start. At least you have cocoa pebbles and not fruity pebbles. One is choco deliciousness and the other is I don't even know. It's not like I haven't been eating sliced hawaian bread.

    Late night thread 2

I'm going to put on some lentil veggie soup, fry an egg and put it on top, light a candle, and have a good evening.

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

To be honest, it was difficult to find a church in my area that wasn't concert-y. A lot of them were just like that.

Sardis: Being made righteous by faith is being made worthy by works

Very good. It's a battle to be righteous every day but it's worth it. The prize for denying ourselves and taking up our cross is eternity with Jesus in a beautiful city.

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

Another example of how my view on music is changing is how I'm very recently been distancing myself from Christian Hip Hop. It's a nuanced thing but I'm starting to think that those trying to do any form of hip hop are attracting the wrong crowd and often have worldly motivations. The ones I...

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

I actually saw the Gaither Vocal Band live this year. I think my favorite song by them is "Sometimes it Takes A Mountain".That was a good time. I have a friend that got me into southern gospel. That organ is beautiful!

    It's about "relationship"...right?

Good point but Why do Christians jump on the bandwagon and speak against religion now? (Because we don't read our Bibles) The book of James says true religion is to visit and help orphans and widows and keep oneself unspotted from the world. Why is this a bad thing? Can we stop agreeing...

Do you find it hard to take breaks?

I know what you mean about Sunday. It can be my busiest day.

Is freewill real or just something we invented it ?

How do you know it was a stake? Hmm. Im wondering if the Bible refers to it as a cross. In Galatians 2:20 it says I am crucified with Christ. Weren't crucifixions done on crosses?

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

Good post there, @Stan B! I remember reading that in Scripture and going, "Hey, thats so different then how we think of tithing today!" They basically bad a party unto the Lord with the tithe.

Do you find it hard to take breaks?

I personally find it hard to spend time relaxing. 1. I feel guilty because there's always more I can do. 2. I wasn't raised to aspire to be a homemaker and housewife so I pictured myself as taking the easy way out. To this day, I perceive myself as having an easy life. 3. Pride tells me I...

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

Well...yes. I wish I could defend my church. But they are off the mark on that.

    How was your day?

Today I decided it would be more modest of me to wear skirts and dresses in public. I also purchased a cute head covering. I think @LadyofFireandLace would like that. Its a beige, brown, and orange infinity scarf.

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

I'm not opposed to capitalism at all. I just see it as wrong that my church puts all its money back into the building and does very little by comparison for those in need. We went into debt to buy $15,000 worth of carpet and chairs. We did about $200 in our last outreach.

The way I view church, music, and tithing are all changing

I just wanted to talk about some things that have been on my mind lately about church, music, and tithing and how they are changing. Ill try to keep it brief. Church: It's not a building but the people. The original church met in house gatherings where more than just the pastor shared. Now I...

    How was your day?

I don't even bother looking into current events anymore. It disturbs my sleep.

    How was your day?

I used to journal on an app on my phone. I love writing with a pen, though. It's like a therapeutic emotional release.
