    It’s All In The Desire

Hi Sky, and always appreciate your replies! It's true if it were so, that we would no longer sin if the sin nature (old man) were eradicated at rebirth, but nowhere is it written that the"old man" is dead but rather "crucified" (Rom 6:6), which makes us dead (Rom 3:3; Col 6:2) to its guilt and...

    It’s All In The Desire

What is a “sinner”? Though all sin (Rom 3:23), a sinner is not merely one who sins, for Scripture always differentiates between sinners and the righteous. Humility reminds us that none are “just” within themselves (Ecc 7:20), because it is “not I but Christ” where righteousness dwells in the...

    Love Reciprocated

It is important to distinguish life and the Spirit, because when the Savior is received there is the reception of life and the Spirit at the same moment, yet we must bear in mind that the two are quite different (it’s not the life of the Spirit but of Christ via the Spirit – Col 3:4, which is...

    The Fellowship Walk

Of all the marvels of the Father’s grace, none is more marvelous than the fact of His bringing believers into fellowship with Himself. That the Father should interest Himself in the concerns of our daily lives, and number the very hairs of our heads, is wonderful indeed; that He should give us...

Thanks and yes, I believe it will be Eze 36:26, 27 / Jer 31:31-33 finally coming to pass! Blessings!

    Self-Repudiation

Hi and appreciate your input! If we're addressing the same issue, my meaning of "separation from the old man" concerns our place apart from this sin nature's (old man) guilt (Rom 8:1) and control (Rom 6:12, 14), but not from its presence dwelling in us. Blessings!

    Self-Repudiation

It's okay, but I'm not understanding you here.

“For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh (2Co 4:11). We must know what it is to be delivered unto death in some way or another; the sense of the daily perishing of the old man must be deepened in...

    Self-Repudiation

The insignificant doctrine I refer to is Israel's Eschatology, which is not essential to salvation but only for faith-strengthening.

    Self-Repudiation

Thanks for your reply! I think I understand your point, but the article in reference to the "Jewish nation" means the Jews at Christ's coming who believe in God but not Jesus--until they see Him and then will believe but it will be too late for them to have their position (new earth per the...

    Winsome Servant

To know and to possess the truths of all that salvation presently provides is not necessarily to walk in them (except for redemption which all believers walk in). For example, if we are not completely convinced of being guilt-free of the sin nature we will not conscientiously walk in it, thus...

    Single-eyed Object

Hi DPM - To me, original sin is the sin nature of Adam and Eve, which is inherited by all their posterity.

No unkindness taken, thanks! We are of a different understanding concerning the man of sin.

    Single-eyed Object

Hi Scott, and appreciate your input! Scripture refers to the sin nature as "the old man," and has members as a body does (i.e. Col 3:5), but it's actually just a nature and not an entity (man or spirit being). I also believe the "man of sin" will be a literal man or a succession of men in the...
