    The saints of Israel

I think, perhaps, you are missing my point. I am not questioning the historical progression of families or decendants in Genesis. The point I am making is that when all such decendants come from a single line and are therefore related by blood, blood cannot be the determinig factor of what makes...

Buying and selling in the last days

Shrug. I'm not the numberologist. But apparently according to numberology Emperor Nero, at the very least, was a fierce contender, his name adding up to 666. Keeping in mind that Hebraic numberology, gematria, is a little harder than the sort of numberology we'd have these day. In point of...

    The saints of Israel

Okay, firstly, I'm sorry, but it's very hard to follow you and your thoughts. Second...yeah right you're not angry. Anyone who uses that much insulting language in their posts is either angry or rude. You pick. Third...its very nice that JP2 had a view on this all, the media as well. But I'm not...

    Who has read Malachi lately?

Ha! I've seen this one before. Sadly, it fits my husband to a T. He loves correcting 'wrong' people on the internet!

    The saints of Israel

Yes, and Shem was a son of Noah. Shockingly, so was Ham. Golly! The whole world was Jewish!! Either the Jewish nation was selected particularly and set aside by certain outward signs and actions (the covenants), or we fall back upon blood...and since every jolly person from the flood onwards...

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

Perhaps. I suppose it comes down to personal taste. And on my part I'm sneaking towards the time in life where I'd firmly say "that ship has sailed". But each to their own!

    Who has read Malachi lately?

eiy...there's a thought to blow the mind. So many thoughts 'out' there...good, bad, ugly. Which of course, in my mind, anyway, leads to the thought of people hunched over computers trying to keep track of them all. Ha! Like trying to put out a volcano with a squirty gun! Ahem, but like I said...

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

Nope! She's decided to get a puppy instead! Plus, not that she's in any way looking old, but when one tips over the 45 years scale, I think one needs to start reconsidering the whole idea. Droopy tats are never cool. :p

    The saints of Israel

I hear this argument a lot, but I'm not sure it holds any water, biblically. Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation, was not "Jewish". He was a Caananite. God chose him to become the 'father' of the people of God, and the covenant of this decision was marked by circumcision. Now, all the tribe...

Russia, Iran, Sudan, & Libya ...

This is just an unbiblical thought, sorry. “Have you not heard that I determined it long ago? I planned from days of old what now I bring to pass, that you should turn fortified cities into heaps of ruins, -2 Kings 19:25 The counsel of the LORD stands...

    The saints of Israel

Well, personally I'd submit that the bible 'puts it the best'. And, I think the passage is more or less discussing whether or not a person can consider themselves saved; yes, a 'people of God'. And Paul is clear that it's not by following the external commands of the law, but in having a...

    Who has read Malachi lately?

Eh...isn't that what a conversation forums all about??!! If we wait til we've been formally addressed, we might not have any conversations at all! Politely throwing a comment or thought in is what its all about, and that's awesome!

    Who has read Malachi lately?

I tell you what, Ezekiel is rather hair raising when it comes to God telling it like it is when he 'hates' something. I came away from it feeling rather shocked! But...in a rather eye-opening way. I think it's very helpful to realize that God will not be mocked or spurned; he is a jealous God...

    Two particular problems with dispensationalism...

I did mean that, of course...but thank you for correcting me! Yes...the 'last' of those 70 weeks.
  15. Naomi25

    Two particular problems with dispensationalism...

It did, more or less, yes. Most Dispensationalists, I believe, see the seventy weeks as a full 7 years. A thought was raised that it might not turn out to be exactly 7 years...and the conversation moved on from there. As I said...more or less hypothetical I think, more than anything.

    The saints of Israel

I wouldn't argue with this. All I would say is that the Jewish people (not in the Church), while having a distinct cultural difference from Gentiles, still do not have salvation in anyway outside of Christ. Therefore to suggest that there is some other 'plan' for the Jewish nation, cannot be...

    The saints of Israel

I don't think I'm fooled at all. And I most certainly wouldn't put myself in the category of those who blithely believe that the Jewish nation can do no wrong just because of who they are...or more to the point, who their ancestors were. They're people without Christ, and that puts them rather...

    Who has read Malachi lately?

Doesn't nicotine just give you a head spin? How could that possibly help? Of course, if you're already addicted then perhaps, sure, I can see it might quieten your nerves to be able to concentrate. I suppose it's easy to roll our eyes at people who have 'unacceptable' addictions, when...

Does he believe he is God?

It certainly does make you wonder about those saying that there's another civil war happening right now (or coming very soon). Thank goodness we can know that ultimately God has it all in his hand and plans!

    The saints of Israel

Any Jew who believes in Christ becomes a member of the Church. Therefore there is no Jew or Gentile. As far as the rest of them; no...they are not Christian and their status is just that: Jewish unbelievers. But I think Romans 9-11 argues a convincing case that there will come a time where a...
