...a convenient deflection for you David to avoid looking closer at the Lazarus story, ie to take the 'punch line' into serious consideration.

    What makes a doctrine false?

...and so you sidestep and generate doubt; drawing into question the Saviour. Why do you do this Hidden? Is it because you don't recognise my language ie, it has no resonance with you?

    A Challenge

I guess the word 'destroy' to you means not destroy but rather being cognisant of torment forever. I guess it also means that the punch line of the Lazarus story you quoted needs ignoring and an ever burning hell theology made out of a story meant to illustrate something entirely different.

    What makes a doctrine false?

You make my precise point Hidden with your many words and rambling. I'm persuaded that 'coming to Jesus' is exempt from all this hoopla.

    What makes a doctrine false?

I would like to further comment on the underlined above, 'but you are not willing to come to me...' 'Coming to Jesus', what could this possibly mean? Does it mean having lengthy and convoluted theological yada yada or interest? Does it mean engaging a personal selection of rituals? Does it mean...

    What makes a doctrine false?

What makes a doctrine false? 'false,' in my view, is when the point (the pivot) of why the scriptures are recorded/ written is sidelined, minimised, misrepresented, distorted. 'What is the point' is the inevitable question. This is what comes to mind for me... John 5:39 'You search the...

Could it be that the assumptions we have made about what happens to us when we die could be in error?

Literal? Egypt and Sodom at the same time?....and crucified there......nahhhhh, definitely metaphor!

Are there any scriptures that direct us regular people to share the Word?

Anyone who knows Jesus cannot contain the knowing of him. It will bubble out like a spring; yes, one of living water. Those who don't know him or are yet to know him invariably present dry and tedious propositions.

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt? Yes, but when, you ask. Has it been considered that Egypt is another metaphor just as Babylon or Sodom are? A metaphor for the oppressive systems of this World, ie it's Kingdoms Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which...

Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

When expressions are used like, 'Your views are completely different from God's Word', what is really being said is, my point of view is the same as God's, oblivious to the arrogance which rolls off the tongue or the pen in this case. Learning in real terms has ceased and one's opinions are...
