What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

God, the Son, lived a mortal life. As a man. He even suffered, and died. That does not make Him and less. In fact I celebrate that. That’s not vague. Anything beyond that (Christ’s mortal life) in regards to your question is speculation.

...? I’m not reciting anything here. This is me typing on my stupidly small phone screen way too late at night. I 100% believe that God (the Son) lived a mortal lif. which in no way demishes His magesity. In fact I. celebrate that. Anything beyond the Son’s mortal life is speculation

Totally agree with all of those.

Salvation is not about academic knowledge or tests. Those things are important, but not what saves.

He is 100% divine. THe if God, the Only Begotten. Alpha and Omega. Before this world was during. This world, during his mortal ministry, today, and after His Second Coming.

Hence making salvation about a mans abilty to pass a theology test.

And you just ignore the other three passages as if God didn’t mean them...? I’m going to passionately disagree with you there. Disagreeing with you on the first part of your post As to the second part (the questions)— Christ is my Lord Savior and King. He alone walked this earth living a...

I want to see the entire essay test you hand a person to see if they know enough academics in order to count as “saved” in you eyes. So if there’s no an explicate threat included that means it’s ok to ignore scripture..? Or that God didn’t really mean what’s written there? That makes zero sense.

And the previous three times before Revelations in the Bible where it says “don’t add” and then God kept speaking...?

A babe in Christ is just as saved as the scholar. Theology is super important. But it’s not what saves us.

You’re completely ignoring my point. God does not change. No one of those places in the Bible say that he suddenly will change and stop talking.

All forbidding men from adding to God's words in these sections. And yet, God did still add to His words and scripture did continue. God doesn't change. Christ isn't defined by what a person thinks of Him. A babe in Christ with poor knowledge is just as saved as a decades-studied scholar...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

The Bible didn't exist until many decades after Revelation was written, and it's questionable whether it was even written last. And which books are included in the Bible have varied over time, even the KJV as the original 1611 version included 14 Apocrypha books. Revelation 20 isn't a gag...

Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, and Proverbs 30:6 all also forbid additons. But none of them mean "God is now going to stop talking forever". There's only one Jesus Christ, the everlasting Son of God. He created the world, was born a humble birth, lived a perfect life, suffered, died, and...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

@Prayer Warrior , if you were to say "Mormons have beliefs I disagree with and find unbiblical", I would have zero problem with that. In fact, I defend your right to hold that opinion. Obviously I disagree with that opinion of yours, but I do amendmently defend your right to hold it. I too...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

You call me "outside of Christianity".... that's you making the call that I'm not a Christian and unsaved. No getting around it. I'm a person whom has Christ as the very center of her world. Your words-- they are wrong. It's not something I can just let you do and just go along like I don't...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

You said: That is flat out saying that I and every other LDS person is not in Christ, not saved. This completely contradicts your previous statement. A Christian is disciple of Christ. A saved person. You just flat out stated it! And on this very page you also called me a cultist!

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

...so you definition of "cult" = a group of saved believers? I don't think so. You call me a cultist, and infer that I'm unsaved regularly, and flat out stated here about me and every other LDS person. It's... beyond offensive and inaccurate. A saved person is a disciple of Christ -- a...
