Thanks for clarifying, brother. :) So I guess our question remains... What is the difference then, between the Old the New Covenant? We know it has to do with Jesus, but what difference does that do in our ability to obey?

Yes. Paul himself says the promises are not to seeds, but to one seed, that is Christ. And then the promises and inheritance is to all those in Christ. Thus, those in Christ Jesus are Israel, the saints of God, those who rule and reign with him, and will be in the New Jerusalem on the New Earth...

Was it not already about his grace, in other words, his power and anointing that was upon the prophets and those who followed him? Was it not already about obeying God? Is the law now no more to be followed (that is, love God, and love your neighbor as yourslef)? :)

Yes, but unto the same salvation and same gospel, as it was with Peter and Paul. :) My understanding is that when we Gentiles start to truly walk like Christ, through us the Lord will shine his holiness and make the Jews see what should of been theirs, so to speak!

Grace is the power of God to overcome all sins, not cover them! There is mercy, don't get me wrong. But grace is not mercy, though it is given as a gift (freely given to the one who repents), it is the empowerement of God to do his will.

My understanding is that our failure is there to form our characters, and will if we respond in faith, while our full surrender completes the 'no longer I' and his ressurection power that is given in response fulfills the 'but Christ'. :)
