Not just via a book. Things like the Spirit testifying to a person are critically important. Going out and living the Christian life. Etc. As long as you're willing to agree that means Calvin's work & the Creeds can all be discarded ;).

A good & commendable approach. It's just important to get the best quality information from direct sources. There's a lot of really bad ones out there.
