The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I'm an LDS lady and have lots of Evangelical relatives / in-laws whom ... frankly everything the "know" about what i believe is very much "anti-cult" BS and they don't care to get facts straightened out. The fact that I love Jesus Christ completely terrifies them. If you and your wife are...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

You'd be amazed at the lies people believe, including the lies about "Mormons".

Who Do I Confess My Sins To?

Both Catholics and non-Catholics are doing their best to follow Christ. Let's not bash on each other, and instead focus on love, discipleship, and learning.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

God never has just taught via a book. A person doesn't just need to learn about Him via a book.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

Yes. DNB: if all the Bible’s I’m the world were burned, would God cease to be? Would the Savior cease to be? Would salvation cease to be? NO!!! Salvation is from God. Faith is from God. Testimony is from God. Understanding is from God. Without God, a person reading he Bible has no...

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

I asked God what is true. Not a book. The master of the universe and source of Truth Himself. That’s what being a Christian is about. That relationship & discipleship.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

Faith is a gift from GOD. Without God the Spirit testifying, the Bible is nothing more than a paper weight. Worship God and put Him first, not the hunk of paper.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

I do agree that that is the definition of sola scriptura, and that it's a very flawed concept. God Himself. God >> the Bible. Truth comes from God Himself. If all the Bibles in the world got burnt, then God's law would not change, nor would His miracles cease. A Christian is a disciple of...

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

That's a hugely inaccurate random guess.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

I literally just answer this question: yes. An example: somebody who takes sola scriptura to the extreme to say the Bible is what saves us. To say that we have no need for prayer- because we have the Bible. To say that God speaks no more. Etc.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

I just see the OP being a rejection of sola scriptura. Not that scripture isn't important.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

More than a few. They usually mean well, but do indeed fall into that trap.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

Scripture is indeed super important- I've stated that several times. No one is stating otherwise. Let's not fall into the trap of making the Bible an idol-- and yes I have sen Christians do that very thing. God Himself saves. Nothing else. The Bible doesn't save you- God does. Faith is a...

Who Do I Confess My Sins To?

*thumbs up* All Christians strive to follow Christ, and those Truths that long predate the creation of this Earth. They (being flawed humans with limited understanding) at points disagree on what those truths are, and which physical institution best teaches those, and even how much that...

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

Yes, God uses those written words as one vessel to work His Wonders (though not the only). But that's God working through a vessel. Credit goes to God Himself, not the chunk of paper. Without God, the paper is just paper. God Himself saves, not the paper. We worship God, not the paper...

Who Do I Confess My Sins To?

I wasn't commenting on your & Candidus discussion about the name of a physical insitution. I was responding to the statements that Christ founded the Catholic Church ~33 AD, that non-Catholics don't believe Christ, and that non-Catholics attend a Church founded by somebody else at some later...

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

It’s God alone whom saves. He, His Law, His Mercy, and His wonders existed well before pen was ever put to paper. Scripture is super super important. But let’s remember whom is the Savior and Most High.

Where in the bible does it say I need to use it

You argument here is essentially the standard non-sola-scriptura arguments. Considering vast majority of Christians aren't sola-scriptura, I don't see much argument to be had here. I actually agree with a lot of your points.

    Passover vs Eucharist

It's a flaw all people have. We can only open the door and still love even when another person scoffs at that open door.

Who Do I Confess My Sins To?

Mary, it's ALWAYS the same conversation with you. I'm not interested in it. if you are truly concerned with being a disciple of Christ, quit looking to men to follow. Mentally get in just a room with you and Him, and you talk to your Father. I know you won't. I know that you won't...
