    Is this good for Christianity?

I am talking to you as an individual. Nothing about groups. Here, I"m going to just break out of all of these stereotypes you have-- I'm Christian. LDS Christian or "Mormon" to be more specific. I'm also scientist and got my phD in Evolution/Ecology/Data, working that field for many years...

    Is this good for Christianity?

I"m sorry, but this post is essentially: "Jane, you should preach at people to act how you think they should, or if you don't I'm going to complain & stereotype how Christians preach at others to act how that person thinks they should." It's not a very logical position.

    Is this good for Christianity?

"Inaction" = not going after people for ThoughtCrime? Or otherwise enforcing how I think somebody else should act or think? Are you advocating that I or anybody else should do this?

    Is this good for Christianity?

A thread you started, and a theme that's being prevalent in your other posts as well. Dude, I'm not responsible for policing somebody else's actions. Get that ridiculous idea out of your head. If "Bob" wants to make/take a stereotype and paste into into their skull, Bob alone is responsible...

    Is this good for Christianity?

When you: - repeatedly make comments on the flawed humans in group A - seldom make comments about all the non-flawed humans in group A -seldom make comments on all the flawed humans not in group A It give that impression very strongly.

    Is this good for Christianity?

I've also noticed being very common with athiests. People being flawed, jerks, lairs, blind, unquestioning, etc is a human problem. Not one remotely unique to Christian humans. Therefore, correlating Christianity=problem doesn't make any sense, and frankly can be offensive.

    Christians living de facto relationships

I'm not sure what all you want said here. Yes, it's obvious that fornication is against God's ways. A couple should wait until marriage before getting both sexually involved and moving in together. That's obvious. Also obvious is the fact that folks can & do sin, and this sin is rampant...

    Is this good for Christianity?

You shouldn't adapt ANY belief system based on the faults people (cause all have them), but on inward truths. This doesn't really connect to Scott's comment. Note: I disagree with Paul's original comment here. But my question is this: @Justadude do you understand that belief (any person's...

    The Great Deception

I acknowledge and respect your beliefs there. I don't remotely agree with them, but again I acknowledge & respect them.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Well, this discussion has long since gotten too full of bad behavior (from all view points). I do thank @Anthony D'Arienzo for the times he answered my questions, and especially thank @SovereignGrace for their thoughts & presence here. And with that, I'm opting out. May God continue to be...

    Is this good for Christianity?

Being an arrogant jerk is a symptom of ... being an arrogant jerk :) It's not remotely confined to one faith (or lack thereof).

    Is this good for Christianity?

Careful: you're generlizing. If you want to look at an example (because individuals are individuals), feel free to ask me anything. I was more referring to you realizing a religious person likely has had horrible past experiences with preaching disrespectful atheists. (Note: If everything...

    Is this good for Christianity?

We all need to work on it. One thing I do find to help me maintain sanity/patience: rejoice in the good examples you do find. Even if the logic doesn't make sense to you, rejoice that some individual is going out of their way to explain things to you. Flee from the impulse to stereotype or...

    Is this good for Christianity?

That is indeed a challenge. One thing I've found is to really try to show earnesty in your search, going out of your way to use a respectful tone/words, and treat their beliefs like they are precious-- because they are precious to that person (even if you totally disagree with them).

Regeneration before or after saving faith

This is a gross mocking of another person's beliefs. Not cool. Same with how other folks have been scorning Calvinists-- not cool (I could easily link a bunch of those posts). I don't agree with a lot of people's beliefs. But we can disagree while being respectful loving disciples of Christ.

    Is this good for Christianity?

I do hear what you're saying about there being a bunch of different options out there, and they all think they are right. I also hear what @ScottA is saying that "just because there's a bunch of bad eggs, doesn't mean there isn't also a one that is Truth, and that shouldn't be dismissed."...

Baptism And The holy Spirit ???

I totally acknowledge your phrasing: "not saying that you're right or wrong, but consider this". I really like it actually. I've just met a lot of Protestants whom have claimed "God with what God directs, not man", and then turn around and start telling other persons what to do and get VERY...

Baptism And The holy Spirit ???

I'm going out point out that you guys also have an authority & paradigm you're working under. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just pointing it out.

Baptism And The holy Spirit ???

It is an interpretation, essentially boiling down to "does this refer to you and just you because you're special, or you because you are believers and likewise all other believers." Ironically, this Interpretation Battle #9825 about authority is largely predetermined by whose interpretation...

Baptism And The holy Spirit ???

I see where you're going with Mungo. But we also both know that this is going to go: Interpretation Battle #9825, with everyone believing that they are right.
