Is the "free gift" of salvation really free? - Honestly?

'Leading to Christ'! and afterwards, what role is assumed? Could it be that what is led to is anything but Christ? Could it be that seed sowing means wearing a tuxedo and polished shoes as one walks the furrows .....expecting to take up the scythe immediately for a harvest? or does seed sowing...

    Christianity as a Closed System

hmmm, well according to Jack, democracy has got hairs on it and publicans can peddle as much alcohol (mind numbing) as can be consumed....ahhh, I mean re publicans. :ummm: It seems I've found myself outside the fold of the 'faithful'. Am I to sign up to their varying mantras? I do not smoke Nor...

    Christianity as a Closed System

Delusion will consume you Jack. At least have the courage to be honest with yourself!

    Christianity as a Closed System

It is possible to find fault infinitum; our default relishes it .....but to what end? Will we ever draw one person to the Saviour by finding fault. I'm reminded of 1 Corinthians 13:5 ....'love holds no record of wrongs' Man! that ought to blow the socks off all of us.

The Wrath of God - How is it love?

If you haven't watched it and you make a negative judgement on it, what do you think saying it is bible attacking, qualifies your words as?

    Can a pastor have depression?

Is there value in stating the obvious?

    Can a pastor have depression?

I think depression (which is emotional) presents when a valid focus is lost; when self and peripheral matters consume one's internal world. Pastors or missionaries are under a pressure to live up to a certain image and when the available energy is image focussed the greater value becomes thin.

    disturbed & stressed

You can be certain your own evaluation is a mile behind. No doubt you recall Jesus saying to get the log out of your own eye before the splinter in your brother's? He's saying this because those attempting to get the splinter out of their brother's eyes are oblivious to the log in their own.

    Has anyone ever planted ginger?

I grow both ginger, galangal and turmeric by the bucket load. It grows easy with little or no maintenance in the tropics. I just stick the pieces in the ground and away they go. Initially they need water but once the root is established it hangs on. All this is going on while they compete with...

The Wrath of God - How is it love?

Evil destroys itself. It has in it the seeds of its own demise just like cancer untreated will kill its victim.

The Wrath of God - How is it love?

Understanding the scriptures is as much the leading of God's Spirit as it is reading the words. Because Israel through history had certain ideas about God they inevitably wrote from their cultural paradigm. Jesus shifted that paradigm. When he made statements like 'you have heard it said blah...

The Wrath of God - How is it love?

Translating from ancient texts is tricky because the vocabulary in Hebrew has considerably less words to utilise than English. Also a translator translates through their bias.....as do we. Sooo, if and when a paradigm is unknowingly faulty, complex texts or texts which are not clear because of...

No need to give up, just be reasonable and acknowledge the truth of the matter when its in your face.
