    Laodicea

Yes. As rich people, in the flesh, we should be not jump to the conclusion that somehow we are also rich in heaven, and that it's all there already! That is the error of the Laodiceans. If we are honest with ourselves, and look at the spiritual reality, we can see that this western way...

Things that were hidden in God

God has not changed, and we must walk in the paths of old. The good news of Christ is that in him we are empowered to fulfill it perfectly.

This is why Christians need to be in Politics

Ok, I get it! Just checking :)

    All are under sin

God does not guarantee us a salvation that is ours no matter what we do. This is the love of God, that you obey his commands. We are to follow after Christ, and if our being is in him, we will fulfill the law. We must abide, and we must endure.
  5. Prentis

    Obedience to God:

We are obedient when we follow him. His call is the same; 'follow me'. That includes trusting in him, and also dying with him. :)

    All are under sin

It says Christ had a body just like ours. He was born of a woman. We have been given the same nature, that is the new creation!

In the face of the reality that some men will come short of the calling given them, our attitude should be 'is it me?'

Six ways to measure you church.

Thanks for sharing jiggyfly. Very true! Whether it is catholicism or protestantism, all of men's set ways have become entangled in the ways of the enemy. To be led by the Spirit and walking according to the spirit goes contrary to everything that man does. Man takes things and wants to...

This is why Christians need to be in Politics

It's been neat talking with you Buzzfruit, you bring some good insight! :) Now I have some questions out of this statement, just out of curiosity, to better understand what you say and the scriptures. The second part I understand. It says the saints will live in the New Jerusalem, and Christ...

    The "in Christ" doctrine

Christ had a body just like ours! What brings sin is that we walk according to the power of our sinful body. We have two natures, one sinful, one not. If we walk by the sinful one, we will sin, if we walk by the spirit, we will not fulfill the deeds of the flesh.
  11. Prentis

    Imputed righteousness;

Of course! But Christ has a body just like ours, and never sinned. Why? Because he walked by the spirit. Is God weaker than sinful flesh, so that if he fills a man completely with his spirit sin still reigns? Of course not! God wants help meets, a bride, a people who willingly obey him...

Six ways to measure you church.

Amen to these posts! Jesus is building his church his way. When he uses an institution to do some of his work, it is in spite of it. We are to walk according to the spirit, not ordinances of men.

That is my understanding also. The kingdom is in spirit, and so we may enter it now, and it is within us because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The kingdom is among the brethren, within the brethren, and coming. In all cases it operates in the spirit. :)

    All are under sin

Yes. When it says 'it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me', it not meant metaphorically. Also, Christ had a body just like ours. We shouldn't forget the implications of that! If he was able to wak perfectly, and has given us the same nature by the new creation... We can be as...

    Jews

It says salvation comes to the Jew first. Hence, first Christ seeked out the lost sheep of Israel. The apostles were Jewish, so on so forth. After that, they are sent to the end of the world. As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved...

    All are under sin

I agree we are not to do it in our own strength, and to allow it to happen in God's time, but in the meanwhile we work out our salvation in fear and trembling, we seek... If we are alive in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit. This is a perfect example; we are made alive in the...

    God bless you! :)

    All are under sin

Amen! Obedience for the sake of his glory, and empowerment for the sake of his works! :)

    Jews

Go make disciples of all nations, ever heard that part? ;) I'm not into 'inclusiveness', including more people, God is the one calling. But I believe in oneness, oneness in Christ.

    All are under sin

That's a good quote. I would add that we are so concentrated on salvation, we forget that Christ's kingdom is actually about glory. :)
