The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Are you not then turning yourself into a "mini-shepherd", rather than having them follow their relationship with Christ?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

And what if you feel the disagreement is over a major doctrinal manner?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

And what will YOU do if their conclusion on some faith matter is different than yours?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

And if a person honestly & intensely studies scripture & prays, and comes to a conclusion different than yours, what shall you do? Shall you tell them they're wrong and why they should believe as you do? Or celebrate at their study/prayers in honest joy with their relationship with God?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I'm going to disagree on the basic idea the (generic) you can argue somebody until choose to follow you to Heaven. But whatever.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

For those people who think that whacking people brings anyone closer to Christ. :)

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Everyone agrees on the above. People disagree on what that particular Truth is. One a forum where there are different Christian faith present, we can agree on the essentials, and disagree respectfully on the rest. Or just try to convince someone else that you're right by repeatedly hitting...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I think we are having a communication disconnect here. My points was that ultimately all Christians believe that God is the source of all Truth. There is a variety of beliefs on the ways that Truth is delivered and organized. But everyone believes God is in charge.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

That’s not really accurate. ALL Christians believe Truth comes ultimately from God. The way in which that Truth is delivered and organized— that’s a subject you’ll find a wide variety of beliefs on. But all Christians believe that God Himself is the ultimate source of Truth.

Pagan Tongues VS God's Real Gift of Tongues

But much more so than every other sin / misunderstanding that people have?

Pagan Tongues VS God's Real Gift of Tongues

Good post. Might I ask the why behind your hyper focus on this misunderstanding more than others?

Pagan Tongues VS God's Real Gift of Tongues

Enow, I'm not following your logic/point here. People are sinners. Every single one. Their sin may not be misunderstanding the gift of tongues, but each person has something (usually many) things they do/understand wrong. Shall we burn down all churches and all other places where humans are...

Pagan Tongues VS God's Real Gift of Tongues

Some individuals doing things doing things that way (a way contrary to the central teaching and main way) doesn't equate to making a blanket statement about everyone. Do you want a grand inquisition of every possible individual in every possible aspect of faith??? Personally, I find it more...

Pagan Tongues VS God's Real Gift of Tongues

We already went over how that's inaccurate, so don't need to repeat that discussion.

Do I Have To Go To Church?

Not at all: you either invite someone else into the room, or pretend that God isn't in the room at all and that it's all about you. Please, tell me about you+God in the room. Do you talk to God? Or ignore Him? Do you have a relationship with your Savior? I cannot address your questions until...

Do I Have To Go To Church?

I'm asking about you + God. Not you + God + another person (which you keep referring to). Not you all by yourself (your straw man argument). You + God.

Do I Have To Go To Church?

I ask you about you+God. No one else. And then your answer is about inviting another person into the room.

Do I Have To Go To Church?

Deep question for you Mary: How does Christ personally impact and lead you? Not any human intermediary. I want to hear about only you+Christ. Once you can answer that question, and actually answer it, then we can start building a bridge to talk about things.

“Celestial Marriage” and other unorthodox Mormon beliefs

"Associated" versus the "this persons' words are automatically Thus Saith the Lord" are two very different things. Here's an official Church statement for you, bolding mine: "Much misunderstanding about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints revolves around its doctrine. The...

“Celestial Marriage” and other unorthodox Mormon beliefs

That's a matter of opinion. Personally, I'm much more concerned with God's view on that matter than any human's. NOT REMOTELY! "Theologians" don't remotely define God's doctrines. And definitely not a single human saying something. Orson Pratt was a single person, and while he got a lot...
