Focusing on Hell is all about Ego

Brother, I do hope my religion will kill me, otherwise how will Christ live in me? Jesus calls us to pick up our cross and die daily. In those steps of Jesus, who went before me to make a way, I do want to follow, that I may be found worthy of him. Noah was righteous, did it not matter if he...

    The error of the Pharisee

The Lord bless you, brother. :)

Do you really think you live up to the righteousness of Christ?

"He who lives and believes in me shall never die" Exactly, we have to live in him, make our abode there :) What about Faith without works is dead? Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them...

Focusing on Hell is all about Ego

I'm not humble enough brother! On that, you are right. I'm not going to save myself. I'm going to seek him more, because he commands me to. Saying I want to obey him is self-righteous? I'm telling you, I might rise to everlasting shame. I don't fear God enough. If you want to point at my...

Do you really think you live up to the righteousness of Christ?

You said it bro, in the bold part. :) Again, do you deny what Jesus says, that 'he who endures to the end, he will be saved'? :) With love in our Lord!

    The error of the Pharisee

Modern Christianity looks at the Pharisee and does that when it says "I trust in Jesus, now I'm forever sayed", and by the same it denies his commandments. :)

Do you really think you live up to the righteousness of Christ?

My faith is in my self because I don't trust myself to be faithfull to the end? That's what you're telling me, Robbie. And your faith is in God, because you trust YOURSELF to be faithful? That's what you're telling me. :) Unless you believe in a magic Jesus that doesn't say things like 'to...

    The error of the Pharisee

It is, that's true. Until you use it to claim you're saved eternally and with certainty! :) It's an amazing thing to me how we can look at the parable of the publican and the Pharisee, and say 'Thank God I'm not like the Pharisee, I don't justify myself by following the law'. The man just...

    Love or fear?

You all know this debate has been going on in about 1/3 of the threads on this site lately. May I suggest an answer? Both. We must take the full cousel of God. He calls us both to love and fear him, he is both our Father, and our King. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God...

Do you really think you live up to the righteousness of Christ?

That is not what I said, Robbie. :) Christ calls us, we have to heed the call. If we die to ourselves, even that can't be used to justify ourselves and say we are saved. I don't know yet, Robbie, if I will rise to eternal glory or eternal shame. I haven't finished my race. But the race...

Focusing on Hell is all about Ego

I am not perfect, Robbie, and I need God's help. Only I've learnt that I cannot use my humility and cries to God asking his help to say I'm eternally saved, otherwise I'd be justifying myself. We must come humbly, I agree. But as Christians, we need both to be humble, know we haven't attained...

    The error of the Pharisee

Self-justification, by definition, is to justifiy oneself. It is the same mistake, whether you use law or beliefs. Beliefs are just another law. "Thou shalt believe that I am the son of God, and though wilt be saved". It's a commandement, instead of being about doing a law, it's about believing...

    All are under sin

Then Christ is an impossibility, since he lived sinless in the flesh. Amen 7angels! Keep preaching it! ;)

Do you really think you live up to the righteousness of Christ?

Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) It's amazing how in one breath, a man can say that all things are possible with God, and in the other claim it's impossible for man to live holy. Yet isn't that what Christ did, being fully man, he lived perfectly holy? If we die to ourselves completely, it is no...

    Where Does Judgement Begin

Yes. Judgment will come to the house of God first. I also believe it refers to the last judgment. Those who know Christ will rise first, some to eternal glory and other to eternal shame. Then, God judges those who never knew him, some to life, and some to death.

To deny that Christ has come in the flesh

Good catch, Ducky :) Truth, the Bible is full of it, Insight ;) I absolutely agree; we should never become our own Christ! To declare a salvation of our own and the strength to be our own would be devilish. But what we can declare, if we walk in it, is that it is no longer I who lives, but...

    The error of the Pharisee

Hi all! :) There's been some debating going on and I thought I would start a thread on this subject, The error of the Pharisees was that they said 'we are the sons of Abraham' and they were sure they were God's children and could not be cast away. They thought they were descendants, and so...

    The "in Christ" doctrine

Right. Noah was like everyone one else, God really liked him so he decided "make an ark and come into it, and your sins will drown in the water". Great to be God's favorite, isn't it. Noah was righteous. We are called to be righteous and holy. The problem with what you say, using...
