    Does a Christian sin

I believe you are in group number 1.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Now this is very interesting because we have two different Bibles. So one group belongs to one group and another group belongs to a different group. Group Number 1 New International Version No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Nice. Now that I like. You cause me to look at the Greek and so I was able to unpack the verse for the first time. Thank you so much.

Why are Threads Disappearing in the "Unorthodox forum?

Good Lord, then I wonder why all my post came down. I was not nasty to anyone. Were folks bickering among themselves?

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Can you give me the Greek word for "practices" or the Greek for "continually"

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

It does not say in my Bible anything about practicing sin. Three verses later it says we cannot sin. 1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

No I do not. How could he have created the universe before he was born. And he had no power of his own when he was on the earth.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

It does not say everything in the universe. It does not say oceans, planets, stars and the universe. You say that. The Bible does not say that. It says thrones or powers or rulers or authorities.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

The Old Testament is filled with data on the savior who would come who would be the messiah. All those years the Jewish people wrote about the messiah who would come. Nobody ever spoke a word about God coming. Don't know think that is odd?

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Again, you lost me. I can't understand your point. May I ask you a personal question? Would that be okay?

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

The seed in Luke belongs to that parable. We cannot say that every seed after a parable that someone said is now the Word of God.

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

I will rewrite what I wrote earlier. Colossians 1:16 For by him (him is lower case in my Bible) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, or planets, or oceans, or the sun, or...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

I do not agree with your above statement. I think your concept came by way of the Catholic doctrine that first went public at the Nicene Creed in 325 AD and modified later around the Athanasian Creed that was most likely composed in the latter part of the 4th century or possibly even as early as...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

You show me one verse that says the spirit is (the Word of God in the person) and I will start myself on fire and throw myself in front of a Mack truck and then you will be free of me.
  16. Peterlag

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

And it makes perfect sense since I'm in the spirit and having fellowship with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  17. Peterlag

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

I did not write this but I can read... Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. We know that whosoever is born of God...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

Peter has the same mindset as Paul when he writes in 1 Peter "that we, being dead to sins,..." Peter goes on to say that Christ suffered once for sins so as to bring us to God, and so this is why the Scripture reads "being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" Again, the old...

Why are Threads Disappearing in the "Unorthodox forum?

What happens is the members can't win since I'm so well prepared... so they complain to the management. I will bet you my car that a few did that here as well.
