Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

Any correct interpretation is told & testified of by to that individual by the Holy Spirit. Even then, the mortal's understanding is still much smaller & flawed compared to God's. Not by some other sinner "informing" them. Which so many men try to do.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

I would suggest it's folly for man A to judge man B's relationship based on how man B's ability to "correctly" pass a theology test posed by man A.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

But He can contradict a man's interpretation of scripture.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

As I've said many times, including on the thread: God >> ALL other things. Too many people try to put scripture above God or worse limit Him by their interpretation of scripture. David, if your goal here is to "prove" that the "Mormon" doesn't agree with everything you believe, I'll save us...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

*rolls eyes* If you want to have a respectful discussion wherein you learn more about what I believe, feel free to ask. If you want to spew the same bad information that "anti-cult" folks have been for decades... well, you certainly have the right to do that, but no one is going to pay any to it.

    Entitled to my opinion....so there!

How does the Christian reconcile these apparent contradictions?

Is the skeptic actually seeking answers? Or just asking questions without real interest in the response? It my experience, people with a laundry list of questions 90% of the time are in the second category, in which case I ignore the questions people have no interest in the answers to.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

There's different levels of comfort. I'm fine in most other places, but none of them are "home" so to say. There's disagreements on other aspect of belief, and I don't like pretending they don't exist, even as they're not salvation-focused. As to my husband: that would require him to be...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

There's only been one infallible person to walk this Earth: Jesus Christ. All others, even His servants, are fallible. God's Truth is not determined based solely on what one human says. That includes the human Joseph Smith. That singular sermon your neighbor was referring to: - does not...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

Jesus Christ is the one and only Begotten Son of God, whose mortal birth we celebrate today. He has always existed, created the Earth, was born and laid in a manger, lived a perfect life, suffered & died on the cross, to raise again on the third day. He alone is the Savior of the World, and it...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

FWIW, Now none hese statements really accurately reflect LDD beliefs. “Anti cult “ sources tend to greatly skew how they present other folks beliefs.

    Halloween Street Preaching

The fact that you can’t think of how to preach without using threats highlights the problem of this abusive fear-based cycle. Love is so foreign to it.

*Deep breath* I am doing my best here to be respectful to other people and their beliefs, even such is not shown to me.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

Come back to me when you find a verse in the Bible that talks about that you describe as the "core" your your beliefs.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

No, I deny the Athanasian Creed. Don't mistake that with the Bible. The Bible doesn't say anything about substance or special "being" and "person" definitions. This is the last time I'm going to address this in a polite manner.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

*rolls eyes* No. Rather human leaders have decided to erect extra Biblical statements and because I don't match those definition, you decide to deny my relationship with Christ. Christianity is about a person's relationship with Christ.
