22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

He comes back then rules for 1000 years with His saints here. Not sure what you have confused beyond recognition here. The verse says people are gathered. It says nothing about some ride to old Jerusalem for all believers. By change the world I think you mean destroys the planet?

Sorry if I do not share your dark imagination. When Jesus returns He stands on a mountain that splits in two. He rules nations. One does not do that in a pile of charcoal and ash. Maybe ease up on the horror sci fi flicks.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye...

You know what? The bible is clear on that. Of course the bible is better than anything evil hollywood can cook up. Why piddle in puddles when they are oceans to swim in? New Jerusalem far surpasses the old one. He prepared the New One for us to be with Him in. Not sure why you rule yourself...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

We actually are raised UP to be with Him and later come back down to earth. Our home is New Jerusalem. (even though we will rule here) That is Israel. Not us. He already sought us out and brought us home to heaven long before that. Also talking about Israel. Amos 9:14 And I will bring again...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Jesus told us that a dark time is coming in the end that is worse than anything ever known, The bible explains that is the time of vengeance. He explained "22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled" There was no vengeance in what Jesus read and...

I suspect that somewhere in this there is a point. What exactly is it?

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Consider the alternatives:) Was He human when He ascended? Are dead people that are saved human? He prepared a place for us. We will be with Him where He is. Guess where that is today?

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

If you want to ignore that glaring fact that there are many promises we can still claim from the old testament and many still unfulfilled propheises go ahead. Don't pretend it is a choice that opposes God.

Since that is where we go when we die, it is a reality.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

That is our home for the future and we are just strangers and pilgrims passing through down here. Of course we are not up there yet though. Just a citizen sojourning in a strange country. Galatians 4:21-31 Great, so rather than claiming it means we are with angels and in the heavens now, you...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I don't know. We can use the process of elimination. What he did not mean is that we are now sitting with thousands of angels in the heavenly city that will be our home one day. I did point out that the comparison between Mt Sinai and the law and Mt Zion was being made. OK, maybe things got...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Not in any way has all prophesy (even about Jesus) been fulfilled. That is one reason Jesus stopped reading a passage in Isa about Him midway. The last part of the prophesy was about His return to earth.

I agree with that. Right Looks like you have some things right. Not sure you are addressing the right poster, you just outlined my position.

Citizens yes. That is our future city and home. We are not there yet obviously.

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

I don't think he meant that we were sitting with thousands of angels now in the heavens. Right. We are not physically there yet. Nor is that what it is talking about. Then it relates to what we were talking about --how?

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

So you do think you went to heaven with thousands of angels? The context seems to be that, unlike Moses on Mount Sinai who got the law, we have come to another agreement, involving a different mountain. We have the heavenly agreement now, that does not mean we have visited that city yet! It also...
