The inhabitants of the Universe are witnesses singing 'you are worthy' (Revelation 4:11, 5:9-10, 7:11-12) Why do they sing this? What is the backdrop that motivates this exuberance?

    Book resonating with me

G'day Frank Phillip Yancey's 'What's so amazing about Grace' and EGW's 'Desire of Ages' have been stepping stones of hope in my pilgrimage. What you have quoted above is worthy of reflection, it reminds me of Paul's words in Romans 8:35-39.... 'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ...

@marks Here is the question again just so we don't loose track of it by having it morph into something else. 'What do you perceive the 'mission' of Jesus to ultimately be? I don't mean the side benefits we derive from it, I mean it's ultimate purpose?' Firstly, these first few immediate words...

if i wanted to become a catholic

The text is misunderstood. It is intended as a metaphor. Jesus clarifies this misunderstanding yet the misunderstanding is insisted on by Catholicism. Here it is underlined. You might want to refresh your memory from the preceding texts also John 6:53-65 53Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell...

    NO MORE WORKS

The gears in a vehicle are not the driver. It is the engine that drives. The engine can run but if the gears are not selected nothing moves. Expecting to move the vehicle solely by selecting gears is a fool's expectation.

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

John was a figure of Elijah.....he preached reform. It was in this sense that Jesus refers to John

Is Total Victory over Sin Possible?

Overcoming!...yes, overcoming the doubt that we are loved. Overcoming the default of looking to ourselves. Overcoming distrust.

    The Chosen

The four gospels are a rather scant record of Jesus 3.5 yr ministry....John 21:25 confirms this. Subsequently any film made on this matter will inevitably have filler to make it flow. Picking apart the filler because it is not 'purist' defeats its purpose.

"Is excessive interpretation the root cause of differences in understanding and doctrinal divisions in the Bible?"

Or was it that they centralised when God told them to inhabit the whole earth? Was it also they didn't believe there wouldn't be another global flood so they intended to build higher than the flood waters?

    The Chosen

A small digression re 'mediator'. Who was it that Jesus mediated for? It is most often taken for granted that Jesus mediation was about appeasing an angry God however, I would say that Jesus was mediating God to us. Yes, we were the ones angry with God. Jesus came to show us that God's affection...
