Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

It is not that I started with a judgmental attitude and then picked those verses to defend "my sin" of being judgmental. It is that the Lord told me to keep judgment in those verses; and I do so in obedience to His word. The verses defend my behaviour because my behaviour is the result of...

Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

So; are you saying that the verses that I have brought forth are invalid?

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

It should be clear that in 1 John 3:7, it is speaking of a righteousness that we do. And in this, we are righteous even as He is righteous (in the sense that we are doers of the word). What more needs to be said? I will say this; that in 1 John 3:3 it teaches that we can purify ourselves even...

    Correction on the Trinity.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the Father, and the Word was the Father. Compare John 1:1 to 1 Corinthians 8:6; and institute the algebraic substitution seen here.

The Gospel was changed by God:

Dunking in water is the best way to represent death, burial, and resurrection with Christ. That being said, I believe that there is a work of the Holy Spirit that is done in the heart of man that takes place in the moments that he goes under and then comes out of the water, to walk in newness...

The Gospel was changed by God:

I do believe that everyone is accountable to God's word over the fact that there is a Bible in every home in America (at least, that is what I have heard).

    Correction on the Trinity.

Not sure what you are intending to say by that...

The Gospel was changed by God:

Maybe it is talking about hearing with the heart...the things that you have read in the word of the Lord.

    Correction on the Trinity.

Jesus was indeed begotten in the incarnation: Luk 1:35, And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The Gospel was changed by God:

The preacher who has only read the word will then preach to others and will save both himself and those who hear him. It appears that he got the truth from reading alone without having had the gospel preached to him; and was saved through his preaching the truth to others; which he found out...

The Gospel was changed by God:

The law was changed by God in the new covenant (Hebrews 7:12); but certainly the gospel has never changed. There is one gospel defined as the gospel in Hebrews 4:2 (kjv). It was preached to us as well as to them; but in them it was not mixed with faith in them that heard it. When it was...

The Gospel was changed by God:

I think that you quoted that incorrectly. Jas 1:21, Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Jas 1:22, But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Jas...

Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

Most of the time I let it speak for itself and don't even give an interpretation. :)

Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

Yes; however I think you will have to agree that the word of the Lord is authoritative.

The Gospel was changed by God:

Indeed. And it was indeed preached to them: Heb 4:2, For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

I find it interesting that it is a basic tactic of satan to seek to identify true and faithful doctrine as heresy in order to keep his agenda going. Let us be Bereans (Acts of the Apostles 17:10-11) and study the word ourselves to find out who is really speaking forth the truth of the Lord.

    ROMANS 3:28 JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

I disagree. For if that it is the case, then the great commission is only for Israel, and not for the church. Because water baptism is included in the great commission.

"I am a sinner saved by grace" (part II).

I would think that the process of spiritual crucifixion (of the flesh) would take a little bit of time; just as it took a few hours for Christ to be physically crucified; and did not happen "in the twinkling of an eye".

Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

Concerning judging, @stunnedbygrace, I would bring up a few verses. Isa 56:1, Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Isa 56:2, Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it...
