    Bible alone question

You should at least learn what a "doctrine" actually teaches before attempting to refute it. Now stop beating on that poor "strawman" of your own creation, because you are completely misrepresenting "Sola Scriptura". We believe that the word of God, and only the word of God, has authority for...

How Do We Know We Are Truly Saved?

I find the most reliable test is to get to heaven and hear “well done” from the lips of Jesus. Until then, I prefer to “keep it simple” and just trust His word … I mean, if God started lying in Romans 10:8-9 or John 3:14-21 then we have much bigger problems than just our sins.

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

Divisive dogmas built on distinctions without differences … a “Catholic specialty”. Please provide even a single verse from Scripture that mentions the “low priests of the order of Melchisedec”.

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

    We are. [1 Peter 2:9 NASB95] 9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR [God's] OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

Trick Question. [Heb 2:17 NASB95] 17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. [Heb 3:1 NASB95] 1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of...

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

EXACTLY! Immaculate Conception Purgatory Petrine Succession Queen of Heaven Priest vs Leity Just a partial list of things never taught by God but added by Men in the “diy religion” of the RCC. Reading the Bible is the only way to learn what GOD said rather than what people say.

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

It is an adoption … a ONE-SIDED covenant between a corpse and The Great I AM. Studying the Bible is how we learn about what HE has done (as contrasted with the ever evolving mythology of Rome - “co-redemptrix” anyone?)

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

“Baptists” have NEVER rejected baptism … we sort of make a pretty big deal about it. A big enough deal that Paedobaptists have historically DROWN baptists for insisting on baptizing adults that make a profession of faith. What we have rejected is the folly that God cannot save unless a man...

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

So which is it? You present an order that places "draw" and "instruct" and "believe" BEFORE "baptism" ... and then perform baptisms on infants that CLEARLY have not been "instructed" (and offer no indication of having been "drawn" or "believing"). If one of the crowd that was "pierced" in...

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

Where did I say any such thing? Where did anyone say any such thing? What does “Sola fide” really mean (when taken in context)? Now for a non-rhetorical question to ponder: When in Acts 2 did God “draw” (John 6:44) them to Christ, ensuring they would be raised on the last day? [It was BEFORE...

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

What did Jesus mean when He said “This is the will of him who sent me: that I should lose none of those he has given me but should raise them up on the last day.” … Did Jesus mean “guaranteed”?

    1st problem with O.S.A.S.

Ephesians 2:1-10 disagree with you. Salvation grows from the root of faith and yields the fruit of good works … with God 100% in charge from first to last. We just supply the “dead”. As my Lutheran friend is fond of saying … “I am saved by works, but it is not MY works that saved me, it is the...

    Roe V. Wade

… My bad memory, it was 3%. (Searching for data revealed that NOBODY wants to record and report that sort of data.)

    Roe V. Wade

I suspect that there are some that SPECIALIZE in abortions (working in clinics that crank out deaths), but I also suspect that few NEVER encounter a woman that requires it for medical reasons. Medical necessity may only be about 4% of abortions, but that is still 1 in 25. How many...

Are There People Doomed For Destruction?

I agree … except ESAU (God hated Esau.) ;)
  16. atpollard

    Roe V. Wade

We need to ratchet back the rhetoric just a bit. There are literally tens of thousands of pregnancies (out of MILLIONS) that result in the baby growing outside of the womb (in the mother’s abdominal cavity) that without an abortion (spontaneous or man-made) would result in the death of both the...

KJV The Pure Word of God?

Jesus Christ is the “pure Word of God” … all translations that faithfully point to Him are “God-breathed” and suitable for use by His Holy Spirit to accomplish God’s work.

KJV The Pure Word of God?

There was nothing before the KJV. Paul preached from the KJV. ;) (just kidding, I am not a KJVO … I like the NASB and the ESV).

    Roe V. Wade

[Leviticus 20:10 NASB95] 10 'If [there is] a man who commits adultery with another man's wife, one who commits adultery with his friend's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. … Abortion seems pointless with the biological father and mother dead before the baby is...

    Roe V. Wade

“A dated 1998 study — published by the International Family Planning Perspectives journal — reported that a 1987-1988 survey found that 2.8 percent of 1,773 women who had had an abortion that year said the reason for the abortion was risk to maternal health.”
